Achieve Medical Weight Loss

At first working for the company was good and In time I slowly got demotivated because the manager made me feel like I was not doing a good job. In job training, i was basically trained to play on my phone. I wasnt comfortable with that because i actually like to work. They started to take alot of hrs away as time went by. My credit for sales was being complimented to other employees.  I was literally bypassed on several opportunities given to someone else who was favored by management. I literally would be at my work station working while the girls would be upfront together talking and laughing amongst themselves. And  patients are waiting to be seen.  So i felt i had to work faster and harder to ensure the patients get seen.  It was overwhelming at times and always unfair. I was told to manipulate and confuse patients in order to sell shot cards in which i told management i felt uncomfortable doing. I would rather be honest in what i do because i genuinely liked the job itself. It was harder to come to work as time went by only because being around the staff particularly management. 

Working here was a lesson in how easily ethics can be sacrificed for profit. While the outward message is “patients first,” the reality is a relentless pursuit of money at all costs. Management—from owners down to general managers—prioritizes meeting financial goals over patient care, often encouraging questionable sales practices like pushing unnecessary medication.

The culture feels performative: colleagues may smile and act supportive, but many build close relationships only to leverage personal information against you. Once they realize you won’t buy into the act, they either fire you or create such a toxic environment that leaving becomes the only viable choice.

Work-life balance doesn't exist. You're expected to handle responsibilities from home without compensation, and the pressure never lets up. Frontline staff like medical assistants and receptionists bear the burden, while upper management reaps the rewards with pay raises once targets are met.

This isn't a place for those who value integrity or genuine patient care. It’s a business disguised as healthcare, and the cost is paid by both staff and patients.

I absolutely loved working at Achieve Medical Weight Loss. During my time there, I became a certified phlebotomist and was able to learn so much about patient care, as well as clinical and desk duties. The hands-on training provided was extensive, and I had the opportunity to take on tasks similar to those of a medical assistant.

The schedule was very flexible, which was especially helpful for balancing work and school. The pay is competitive compared to other places with similar roles. One downside at the time I was employed was that benefits weren’t offered, but I understand the company has gone through many changes since then, so that may have changed by now.

The best part of working at Achieve, however, was the people. Everyone there is so kind and bubbly, and you really get to know your coworkers and the patients. They become like family, creating a supportive and positive work environment that makes you look forward to coming in each day.

Overall, my experience at Achieve Medical Weight Loss was extremely positive, and it was a great environment for professional growth.

The first couple of weeks feel like a dream job. Then, reality sets in and it’s a living nightmare. Be prepared to never give an opinion (because no one cares) - also, you will work for free if you go over the payroll they allow. Upper management is a joke. Greedy, phony, money hungry and lacking morals are all words I would use to describe this company. They don’t care about your own personal life at all and expect Achieve to be your priority 7 days a week. Leadership is required weekly which is a joke! Please tell me about integrity some more as I watch this company do the complete opposite. It’s a numbers company and if you don’t hit revenue goals, it’s your fault.. even though it’s a self pay program and most people can’t afford to spend 100$ on B12 injections. There are a FEW amazing ladies in this company but the Tennessee clinic ladies are snobby and unwelcoming. If you aren’t a “kiss butt” type of person, be prepared to not be liked. I would rather work at McDonalds than have to deal with this job again. And trust me, your job isn’t over when you leave the office. They will harass you constantly.

You don’t get a raise for being promoted just more hours.  Due to revenue being based on previous years numbers, the goals set for us by upper management where not always reachable. This  company wants you to spend your time and sometimes gas to become a better leader, which is one of the things I loved about the company, until it was the exact thing that got me fired. Me and my team would meet up at each others houses for team building/ dinner. On my very last day working for the clinic we where discussing our next get together during down time while no patients where in the office. The next day I was fired because I discussed the team bonding more than I discussed revenue for that day. Soo as a management position holder of the clinic apparently they didn’t want me to be a leader?  I should also mention that they encourage you to give all your time to make there business grow but don’t want to pay you for it. Also if you give ideas to make the job more productive then you could also lose your job.

Unfortunately, this company doesn't care about it's patients or it's employees. Patients are rushed through the doors just so we can make sales and squeeze as many patients possible into a 4-5 hour time frame. It is completely ok to be sales driven, but patients weight loss and well being should be first, always. The managers in the clinic tried but overall they just brought the morale & culture of the clinic down because of constant pressure by the higher ups. This clinic (as many do) has ran through 15-20 employees in the past year, constantly firing or moving you to "as needed" as they would say, even though you never hear from them again. I think the concept of the company is good & positive, but the management needs to take a good look in the mirror. It's not the employees you're bringing in, it's you.

However pay was pretty good for a part-time gig, $15 an hour. Fast paced environment, a lot like any other busy doctors office.

I was in management for two years at a particular clinic. I had the same girls on my team for those two years. We took this clinic out of the red and hit our goals for 18 months straight keeping the clinic in the black. The owner, needless to say, was not pleased that we didn’t hit our goal for one month and fired the General Manager and the Assistant General Manager with the reason being, “we are moving in another direction.” And were replaced by individuals with no knowledge of the products or medications given to patients and who had no medical background st all. It doesn’t matter how hard you work for this company it is never enough. They do not advertise except for flyers that they want you to pass out on your time not theirs. They are a money hungry who push for the employees to badger the patients to death to purchase a $100 B12 shotcard knowing good and well the shots are less than $2.00 each.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Unfortunately there aren’t any once you find out how they actually work.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
They make you have meetings and discuss your past trauma. While you sit in a group and they write it down to use against you. Basically to build you up, and tear you down! They unfortunately ask of you to put them before your own family! Also having to lie to patients about what they do!

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
They Say people matter, but they couldn’t care less about people….. MONEY matters and that’s it!! 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
STRESSFUL!! Imagine having to lie to patients, then having to do everything for this company, and for them to demand you put them first!!

At first I thought this would have been a great place to work because of the schedule and setting, but the management is unorganized. I was told I was hired and worked for a day. After my first day, I was told they needed to revise the training for front desk. A couple days later, I asked when should I come in for my second day and was told through a text they went with someone else. I was caught off guard, because all I was told to do on my first day was to shadow and watch the front desk. I was told I needed to work faster, but how am I supposed to do that if there is no training provided and it’s my first day? Overall, the environment was very unethical and the staff behaved like high school girls in a clique. I wouldn’t recommend anyone of color to work here.  


When I worked there I was worked like a dog, I was responsible for weights and triage, but when we closed  I was the only person at cleaning the bathrooms,  cleaning all the rooms, cleaning the front and back sitting area, filing all the charts from that day and any left from the days beforehand as well as taking out the garbage, everyone else would be just sitting at their desk pretending they were still working and when I was finished doing all those jobs then miraculously they would be finished also, don't get me wrong I loved doing my job which was supposed to been medical assistant/phlebotomy but doing everything everyone else did not want to do wore me out.
