Advanced Pain Care

I came to Advanced Pain Care after working in a role where I did not feel valued, compensated or comfortable in the work environment - with that being said I was very selective about my next career move and Advanced Pain Care could not be a better fit for me. When a friend recommended Advanced Pain Care to me I was a bit intimidated that I may not have the specific experience for the position I would be working in. Since working for Advances I have come to learn that the focus when hiring is not only basked on skillset, but really takes into consideration personality, willingness to learn and how a candidate will fit in with the company as a whole. I encourage you to take a chance and apply as this company is training focused and has endless resources to help you be successful. I can truly say we work hard together as a team, have amazing benefits and are always taken care of by our company (kickball team outing, complimentary lunches, holiday parties). I am thankful everyday I found such an amazing opportunity!

As an experienced NP this is the most toxic work place I have ever worked in. Upper management is run by a LPN and inexperienced RN-no business degrees. These two are best friends and make all the decisions for the company-just like high school with the mean girls. Most employees are disgruntled and openly exclaim this in front of patients. Very high staff turnover-I was told 70% by a few employees. Patients can walk in any time to be seen-just like urgent care. If patients miss their slotted appointment they can walk in at the end of the day and MUST be fitted in and seen-this puts the provider and staff behind. There are unnecessary procedures being performed under general anesthesia for money-"American Greed" upcoming episode. The term "burn and turn" was used quite often for the amount of patients having procedures done on a daily basis. Lastly, unless they get qualified upper management to run this company, the turnover rate will continue. American greed at its finest, NOT patient care. 

Advanced Pain Care has been my home for the last 3+ years. I have been able to witness, and be a active part in the expansion that the Executive team has created. The practice is only getting bigger, and continues to do more for communities in Central Texas, Waco, and the Amarillo area. In doing so keeping, Patient Care as our number one goal. The Executive team has created a very family oriented environment for us (staff) all. They are involved in every aspect of what it takes to run this ship. We work hard to keep our Patients satisfied, and we are able to have a great time doing what we enjoy. It's a great thing when you can truly enjoy what you do every day. 
As a Manager with APC, I have been able to accomplish every goal set for myself because of the support of my supervisor. I have never had the support from a supervisor, as I do here with APC.

The only constant at APC is the turn-over rate. Terrible management, ZERO concern for work-life balance. Only work here if you are desperate and do not expect to be employed long.  Dr. Malone will not appreciate your efforts, he will work you to death, then toss you away on a whim. I feel so sorry for the patients stuck at this clinic due to their "pain contracts". Not only do they provide sub-par care, inexperienced providers (rarely will they see an MD), and an extremely unprofessional staff, they will bill you into the poor house with unnecessary lab tests - performed by unqualified technicians. So glad I am no longer a part of this terrible organization. Did my best to make things better but it was a lost cause, they will most probably be investigated and shutdown soon anyways.

As a former employee, I can confidently say this was one of the most toxic work environments I have ever encountered. Upper management is terrible, making decisions with little regard for staff input or patient care. Employee morale is consistently low, with many openly expressing frustration in front of patients. The turnover rate, reportedly between 70-80%, speaks volumes. The walk-in policy for patients causes constant scheduling chaos, leaving staff overwhelmed and burned out. There is an obvious emphasis on profit over patient care, with unnecessary procedures performed under general anesthesia purely for financial gain. The sheer volume of daily procedures makes the workplace feel more like a business than a healthcare environment.

Whether you are just starting out in the medical field or have years of experience, Advanced Pain Care is a wonderful place to grow and advance in your job specialty. In my many years at APC, I have grown as an employee and as a person. I have had opportunities that I never even knew were possible and have been able to advance to new levels of my career that have enabled me to provide for my family. The doctors are compassionate and patient care is their number one priority. The management team is outstanding and recognizes hard work and dedication which allows for ongoing training and competitive compensation. I highly recommend Advanced Pain Care to anyone who is ready to work for a growing and fast paced company.

If you are thinking about working there I would think again. Poor management, employees are inappropriate to the point that they insult each other as well as patients. I choose to be in the medical field because I love my role I play in a medical office. There is zero teamwork and the training for new employees is two days and they expect you to already know what to do. Employees have there own cliques and likely to judge you. I have never worked somewhere that they allow such behavior of staff standing around chitchating and not doing there job. In my opinion I think the manager should not be friends with there employees what they need to do is manage the office.

A schedule for duties was typically made every two weeks so employees would know in advance what they were going to do, which was good. Usually there would be two medical assistants on the floor rooming patients, one on scripts, and one on triage. Every week our duties would rotate. 
I learned how to write out controlled substance scripts (c2), triage patients over the phone, check inventory for samples. 
Management was great! There isn't any micro managing which is good, less stressful knowing some one isn't constantly looking over your shoulder.
The most enjoyable part of this job is knowing you're making a difference is someone's life, in a positive way.

I have been employed with Advanced Pain Care for over five years. The company has experienced a lot of growth in that time. There have been many positive changes. Advanced Pain Care offers opportunities for career advancement and fair compensation. I love coming to work because the environment is friendly and relaxed. The clinic is fast-paced, as changes and updates often occur frequently in healthcare. My coworkers are great and the company offers a full benefits package, including employer paid life insurance and a 401k match. The paid time off is generous, as are the paid holidays. I would definitely recommend working here, at any of the Texas clinics or Headquarters.

Was so excited to start my job at Advanced Pain Care. Unfortunately it became apparent to me VERY quickly how toxic this work environment is. Employees are very caddy, they form cliques and they go out of their way to exclude certain employees (kind employees) from work functions. They also talk about you to your coworkers in a very unprofessional manner. I’ve never worked somewhere so toxic before. Nothing is done about the environment either, it stays the same. Also the benefits are horrible. If you want to add any family members, you’ll have a high deductible and you’ll be paying over $600/month.
