The most enjoyable part of my job is working with our super smart and supportive marketing team. We work within a very happy and supportive culture. A typical day...  we develop clear and engaging messaging to help senior Americans as they first become eligible for Medicare benefits or change existing Medicare coverage. Plus, we help recruit local licensed insurance agents who specialize in Medicare health plans. Honestly, it’s the most fun I've ever had in my career!!

I have called the home office at Advocate for 7 years and I got the voicemail ONCE and it was after hours.  I love it that when I call that I get a real person on the phone who is always pleasant and helpful that helps me with my issue.  Marketing support is great, and I have had many pieces developed just for me.  I have never experienced, in all my years as an agent, the expertise Advocate has in the area of Veterans.  They have a whole team dedicated to Veterans and a DSNP team too. I am home and will never leave these folks.  

Advocate is a Medicare FMO sales organization owned by a husband and wife team with different last names. This ownership structure is not often disclosed, so many times new hires are shocked to find out they went to work for a family business. The business has grown extremely quickly, so there's a lack of structure and company-wide project oversight. There are a few key leaders who have been with the company their entire careers and have a very non-corporate way of doing things. As a sales organization, the goal is always growth in personnel and revenue. The company does a great job of training agents in a competitive Medicare FMO space. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
At first, the notion of aiding elderly people with Medicare choices was attractive, but it became clear that despite their claims of advocacy,  they were completely  sales driven..I also believe the most successful agents were allowed to play fast and loose with call requirements.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The leads were not properly qualified, and the training was inadequate. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
I worked remotely.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
8 to 5, fielding calls in my office.

Advocate starts off good but if you decide to leave or seek other opportunites outside of them they do not believe in keeping it professional. They do not give immediate releases. They will not give a reason, explantion, returned call or email. Becareful if you are putting any type of contracts with them. They do pay well and have training for medicare. But they do not release at all no matter what and that is very unprofessional because it affects a persons livelihood. 

Advocate has been an incredible FMO partner! Their Executive Team, along with professional peers has been a  seamless transition . The licensing and contract department handles all of the backend support so you don’t have to. This company also has several annual training sessions that are first class! I have always felt supported and would recommend moving your upline to Advocate! Great experience!

Great place to work, with day to day making outbound dials for opportunity to speak with prospective clients.  Having patience with prospective client while looking out for their needs by doing your Due Diligence. Great cultural Management  staff.  Most enjoyable part of the job is knowing that at the end of your day, you educated and helped an individual with what was most important to them.

Advocate Health LLC is a brokerage for Medicare sales as a 1099 and you simply need to have licenses and meet the criteria for sales. 
They do not provide leads, and or guidance. Nothing good to say about this employer. 
There are better agencies to work for. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
The best part is that it’s remote 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Everything 
You have no idea if they are closing the department or just firing everyone 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
It was really good at 1st but the longer your there u realize it feels uncomfortable really quick.

Training was lacking. My regional manager was impossible to get hold of.  I had to call the carrier's managers for guidance. And good luck trying to get an immediate release from them. 3 months for one carrier, 6 months for another. Because of this I'll be missing AEP. I wasn't even with them for very long. Very unprofessional.
