I worked registration in ER, Radiology, Front Admitting and Lab which includes:

~Registering patients for-ER admitting

~Registering patients for-Radiology, such as CT scans, MRI's, PET scans for (cancer patients) and all X-rays 

~Registering patients for-Front Admitting including Cardiology tests, EKG's & Cath Labs & Dr's would call me for direct admits on patients and I would take them up to their room have them sign the papers and give them their copies

~Registering patients for-Lab includes: Any type of blood work ordered from the patients Dr's, urine & drug testing for potential employers.

When registering all of these patients I get their insurance cards, photo ID's and I scan them in the system. I also verified all their information in the system to make sure nothing had changed. I would then print out papers for them to sign and scan those papers as well under their account and give them copies of what they had signed.

Management had changed and they let a lot of us go for unknown reasons and let us file for unemployment. 

I got along with all of my co-workers, we just enjoyed working together as a team. If there was a co-worker who had a problem with me I basically continued to be nice and it eventually just stopped on their end.

The hardest part of the job was working in a fast paced environment but I was mature about it and did what I needed to stay up to speed with it.

I enjoyed just about everything, I had always wanted to work in a hospital and my boss at that time was amazing to me. I would have to say seeing the smiles on the patients faces and knowing that I made a difference with my positive attitude was the most rewarding.

First things first, NO CAP. You need to expect 7-9 patients regularly because administration just simply doesn’t care about safe patient ratios. (Yes, there were attempts at addressing this)

This environment is toxic. If you’re a new grad and need experience consider this an option, but do not stay long. Anyone who has been there longer than a year is miserable. It is a revolving door of staffing and there are at least 5 travel nurses all the time, they make 3x the amount for less work than you, which feels wonderful. 

The people are nice and all, but it’s not worth the toxicity of unsafe ratios, being overworked and underpaid and disappointing your patients or watching them deteriorate before your eyes with no help or control… 

Also, the benefits are pathetic considering it’s healthcare. And you can’t use PTO because of bad staffing, even if you pick your time off a year in advance… 
I really had a lot of hope since it’s a community hospital but this was a really bad first nursing experience for me, my advice would be to look and apply everywhere else first. Nothing in this review is blown out of proportion. 

It starts off great, then once you start proving you’re great at your job they throw a bunch of responsibilities on your back with ZERO compensation on top of it. Not to mention, having a conversation with the director of your department is like talking to an automated system. The most bland conversation, no problem solving, a literal robot. I’m supposed to take my job seriously, be a role model and professionally represent my department but the manager shows up EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. late for work, a different sorry excuse every single day. Then comes to work and just sits at her desk and eats, she only jumps in when she absolutely has to and when she does there’s no meaningful contribution. We are CONSTANTLY short staffed, management doesn’t care they “will make do”. The employees who go above and beyond get screwed the hardest and the most, every single time. They won’t acknowledge a raise or any incentives no matter how much work gets piled on. I absolutely loved working here, the patients, the relationships, the staff but the management and administrators ruined it. Absolutely ruined it, which is horrible. Do not work here if you expect a notable raise for the contributions you make.

I feel a deep sense of pride knowing that my work directly contributes to the well being of those that live in this community. I am proud to say that I have worked at Anderson for ten years. In those ten years I have watched many coworkers move on to be some of the best Nurses, NP's, and Doctor's around! Anderson has many opportunities for professional growth, and constant learning. The relationships I share with my coworkers, means so much to me. Some weeks I see my coworkers more than my own family. Over the last ten years my work family has been there on some of my worst days and some of my best. They were the ones that stood by my side in celebration when my grandbabies were born here, and have taken amazing care of my loved ones when they were in need of medical attention.  But with all of that aside, this job is not just about clocking in, and out... It's about taking care of those who cant take care of themselves, and to hopefully make a difference in someone's life! I will forever be grateful for the job I have in Critical Care, and to the incredible people that I have the priviledge of working along side of.

Excellent place to work. I left and returned. The co-workers are awesome, super supportive, and fun to be with. I usually get off on time, no staying late to chart. The patients and families appreciate what we do for them.
The providers are willing to educate staff and patients. 
ICU can be rough some days, just with patient diagnosis and/or prognosis. I enjoy helping families transition to end-of-life but the task can be emotionally draining. Our 2 managers are willing to work with staff on scheduling. Of course, all shifts need to be covered, but if I needed a day off on a schedule it has not been a problem.
I came back because of the work environment here. It is positive and encourages growth.

Anderson Hospital is a wonderful place to work for. My only dislike, which is completely all on me, is my 30 minute drive to and 30 from. But is worth the drive really. Anderson is a large well known facility and is still growing. Don't pass up an opportunity to at least give it a try. Just think about it. The healthcare field is always going to be available. Why not grow with a healthcare facility that just about has it all. Because one day, they will. Would you like to be able to say "yep, I work there". Because Anderson Hospital is and will always be the best. Come apply. Let's work together, improving our patients lives and enjoy doing so at the same time and you get paid for it. Woohoo. A nice place to work, however does not offer as high of a wage as some other medical facilities. Pay does not tend to scale up as quickly as others either.
Work loads are very comparable to most any other hospital, usually a nurse/patient ratio of 6 or 7 patients to 1 nurse.
I learned that Anderson is a quality hospital, maybe not as high-tech as some of the major hospitals in St. Louis, but it is great for what it is.
The management was good, and my co-workers were great.
The hardest part of the job was when I had to work over after working my 12 hour shift; that was really long and tiring.
The most enjoyable part of my job was the patients; I took care of some wonderful people while working there.

A typical day at work was filled with laughter between co-workers. Everyone was expected to be professional and work as a team.

I learned, after I left, that the culture is one that needs to be emulated. The company holds employees accountable for their actions, job responsibilities, completing educational requirements, and being professional.

Management was very supportive and encouraged staff to practice leadership skills, even if the employee was not interested in obtaining a career in management. Self promotion was emphasized.

Active education department. Robust educational resources.

Housekeeping management shows they don’t care, they love to make excuses for poor work by others. Supervisors show they don’t know their jobs, then brag they have been there for years. Supervisors let some get away with important actions and do not allow others with get away with minor infractions.  As an employee who gives a 150% gets taken advantage of and the ones who give 10% gets excuses for their performance.
