A typical day for a bank teller included handling deposit and withdrawal transactions, check cashing and safe keeping of cash and checks received. The more responsibilities that you took on the more likely you were to advance with the company.
I started out as an acquired bank teller from  Emigrant Bank the transition was smooth. training was hands on and more thorough with identifying customers. Managers were friendly and co-workers were helpful and understanding. The hardest part of the job was learning a new system after previously doing it a different way at the previous bank. Also there were reports, check scanning and double checking work before the end of the day while also taking transactions.The most enjoyable part of it was the customers. After a while you become familiar with the regular customers and they are quite friendly. Make sure to converse after you have finished the transaction so that you don't screw up the transactions which I may have been guilty of once or twice. All in all great job.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The actual company, not the branch management were very fair in some ways to their employees. They offered decent medical ins, and a good 401K, as well as very good life insurance for almost no cost.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The most stressful part of working for this company was, way too much management in the branches  who treated their staff poorly. A scanning system that was honestly horrible, and a very low salary with an annual raise of about .30 cents.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Depending on who you are working with it can be pleasant, and very unpleasant. The culture is diverse.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Basically structured in morning and closing work. Extremely slow in volume of customers. A lot of assigned online reading and tests, as well as many meeting via web ex.

Start day with stand opening procedure. Look for correct opening signal, open the vaults, fill out the mortgage report, make coffee and tea, sort your cash and wait for the bank to open.

Depending if it is the beginning of the month. If it towards the beginning, you will get bombarded with a long line of seniors who want to zero out their account. You are expected to work fast. If it is the middle or the end of the month, work is nice and slow. You are expected to be seated the whole time, which is fair enough.

I have learned that if you work with a smile, customers will like you more.

Management is extremely strict, and will tell you to silence yourself if they catch you talking to coworkers. Must keep transactions with customers small or they will time you. Favoritism is big among senior employees. They are like family, and you are the stranger.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Apple Bank is a small bank, and I have had the opportunity to work with various levels of management, from an EVP to a first line supervisor. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Banks are highly regulated, so the most stressful part about working for Apple Bank is dealing with the regulatory when them conduct their audits.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The work environment is excellent. I work with a very good team, and we support each other.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
A lot of my work involves managing/coordinating projects that impact me directly and provide support for someone else efforts.

The managers are incompetent, and the system is about 20 years behind. Moving up in your own branch, is like pulling teeth, and barely will you be appreciated for the work you do, even when you're going above and beyond.  The pay is ok at best, your raise at the end of the year will be around 25 cents. I don't have health benefits with the company, so I will comment on that. Favoritism is the word of the day at this bank, so pucker up those lips and do everyone else's work to get any recognition. I've worked in locations with inadequate heat in the winter, broken air conditioners in the summer, and dirty water dispensers, and I can probably identify more bug species after working here. They're hiring, though 

I open the cash vaults, take out a certain amount of cash to start my tellers for the day to work with. Balance the ATM for my customers to retrieve cash and make deposits. I then receive my daily paper work from my managers and perform my daily duties in a timely manner. I assist my tellers in customer relative issues. The hardest part of my job is making sure my tellers do not have a cash difference, if so having to find there difference and calling a customer if my teller given too much or too little out. The most enjoyable part of my job is making sure all my customers are satisfied when they leave and that I gave them 100 percent great customer service. also having fun with my coworkers.

A typical day at work begins with each employee making sure their cash box is accurate and that they have all the paper work they will need to provide customers with a speedy transaction. At Apple Bank, I learned how to process cash and check deposits and how to tranfer funds between accounts. I also learned how to create money orders and bank checks, and how to cash them out or deposit them into customer accounts. The management team were helpful and knowledgeable about products. The hardest part of the job was assisting customers at the end of the day with only two tellers open and a line that reached the front door. The most enjoyable part of the job was easing the anxiety of customers who were confused about certain aspects of their account.

A typical day at work:
- Verified deposits and withdrawals and performed general banking duties
- Used product knowledge an customer service skills to increase bank's and customers' investments
- Performed efficient end-of-day closing duties.

I learn a lot about my mathematical skills. I closed everyday with a closing difference of one nickel or less.

Management was respectable and supportive.

My co-workers were trustworthy and pleasant to work with.

The hardest part was making sure that you did not receive counterfeit money, and concerns for you safety in case of a robbery.

The most enjoyable part of the job was dealing with different people; no two days were the same.

This job offers paid training so you pretty much go on the job with a sense of confidence because you know what to expect. Training is for two weeks and although so people go to training before starting the job you must be prepared to go straight to the branch you will be working in if the training classed are full. You will see that you catch on easily if you pay attention in training class or to whoever you are "shadowing" in the branch. Providing excellent customer service is a must as you are dealing directly with the public. You should pay attention and follow policy at all times. You learn how to handle large sums of money and deal with specific problems.

Working at Apple Bank for Savings as a Senior Customer Service Representative for 18 years , was a wonderful experience. I enjoyed every minute working for this financial institution. At the branch we worked together as a team, I love Apple Bank Because it has a family friendly corporate culture that allowed workers and customers to be confident and happy, The hardest part of the job was when is to slow specially on Friday because is a long day from 8;30 am to 7;pm but I always find something to do.
The most enjoyable part of my job was working with my customer and the staff, they are wonderful.
