Applied Imaging is by far the best company I've worked for in my career. The Leadership Team really gets it - from how to recruit, to how to motivate, to how to inspire. It was a rigorous application and interview process but they want to make sure they employ the very best people and there is a team fit. They pride themselves on exhibiting the 12 elements of success with their employees - from Building Team Unity to fostering an environment that supports families. The work life balance is incredible and I'm proud to be with a company that supports the community like we do. It's wonderful know there is a team that supports your dreams and will do anything in their power to make sure you succeed. From the moment I walked in and saw the live wall, someone riding around on a pedal bike, and being greeted with such warmth - I knew I was home.

The interview process was almost 8 HOURS from start to finish, for a manual labor intensive job that paid $18/hr. They say you’ll receive training, but all I ever got was watching over the shoulder of those that had been there longer. 
Corporate takes itself very seriously, and goes on and on about how great their company culture is, but as a grunt level worker you won’t experience much of it. Could be a great place to work at the main office in Grand Rapids, but the satellite offices feel like the black sheep of the family. 
The sales people are treated great, but delivery and service, the people actually helping the customers, seem to be forgotten about. 
Overall they make it seem better than it is, and I regret leaving the job I had to come work here. I was looking for work again by my second day, the experience was so disappointing. That said, you could do much worse. Just don’t expect to get promoted quickly, middle management looked very comfortable where they were and won’t be leaving anytime soon. 

Ever since I started at applied, I would continuously take on new responsibility with promises of more from my direct manager. These promises were never met, and my goals were often shifted and put off for weeks-months due to poor communication. The large majority of my one on one interviews with my manager were put off and delayed (often times so he could play ping pong) , so it was always difficult to feel valued or treated as an equal, especially when given less time to speak on anything going on. The technology division is treated completely different from the rest of the organization and the direction it is going feels depressing. The culture and a lot of the people at applied are amazing, but I wouldn't recomend anyone joins the technology side of the company at this time.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The salary was probably the best part... Other than that, maybe a couple of cool coworkers. And that's about it. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Being on call and getting those calls at 1-2am that you dread getting... And then having to get up and work at your normal scheduled time even after being up for 2-4 hours fixing something for a customer. So going to work on no sleep and then them expecting you to perform above normally 🙄

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Strict. Not inviting. Stressful. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Completing several different tiered tickets in a day. Helping with any/everything else needed.

Applied Imaging prides itself on being a very family oriented and does it best to provide fast, friendly, and amazing service to all of it customers.
I find this to be very true. Applied Imaging puts their customers first and hires like minded people who look out for one another. We work very much as a team no matter what department we are in. 
I love being a part of my department. We work hard everyday, and we are still always finding time to laugh and have a good time. I find that to be one of the most enjoyable parts of my job; the feeling of really being family.
I have learned a lot about what I am capable of doing, and I found that I am a quick learner who enjoys a little bit of a challenge.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Good benefits with paid PTO upon hire date 
and good culture. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
As a service tech you are assigned machines that you are not trained on and are expected to fix. Lots of micro management. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Good but has a lot of wasted time not getting the job done. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Lots of wasted time of useless planning to not get the job done.

Worked for Applied Imaging approximately 6 months, and the position for which I was hired was determined to be non-strategic and the position was eliminated. When I was hired by the company I was told it was an exploratory position, and, I guess they felt over the six months I was there they decided it was not a critical position. I was told that they would find another position for me but that never happened, so I was let go. I learned to this date the position I had was never re-filled.

So I heard This used to be a good place to work but too many changes too much favoritism! too much kissing up nobody takes responsibility for their actions. They say that they're a family-oriented business but that's not what I see. When I was brought in I saw things different but now too many chiefs not enough Indians the little person gets used and abused I might have made a mistake coming here. There are to many managers learning on the job for this size company and It all sounds good at first but then you'll see.

As a field technician I love the freedom given as well as the little benefits such as personal use of a company car and cell phone. The only thing I would change is the pay scale. In the service department there seems to be no defined pay scale and raises are given based on who is the managers favorite and not job performance. I never plan on leaving Applied Imaging because it is a fun place to work. I have never been to a company with the culture that is provided here. Highly recommend

I had little to no training for my job. At one point our delivery drivers had to fight to get the squeaky brakes replaced even though the company had no problem buying rolex watches for the sales reps. Some trucks also had no heat and even had water leaking through the front window because of cracks. Working at Applied Imaging is great if you're in sales..
