Working as a medical practice manager has been an incredibly rewarding yet demanding journey. The role requires balancing a wide range of responsibilities, from overseeing the day-to-day operations of the practice to managing both clinical and administrative staff, ensuring patient satisfaction, and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations. 

One of the toughest aspects of the role is managing the constant flow of tasks and unexpected challenges that arise daily. From dealing with staffing issues to handling patient complaints or adjusting to changes in healthcare policies, there's rarely a dull moment. The need to stay organized and composed under pressure is essential, as even small missteps can lead to disruptions in patient care or the business side of the practice.

The financial side of the role can also be demanding. Budgeting, negotiating contracts with insurance companies, and ensuring that the practice remains financially viable while still providing high-quality patient care are tasks that require a great deal of attention to detail and strategic thinking. 

Despite the challenges, the sense of accomplishment that comes from knowing you're playing a key role in delivering quality care to patients is incredibly rewarding. When everything falls into place — whether it's successfully improving office efficiency, creating a more cohesive team, or seeing the practice thrive — the sense of fulfillment is immense. 

Furthermore, working closely with a team of dedicated healthcare professionals provides the opportunity to foster a positive work culture, build strong relationships, and make a direct impact on the patient experience. The ability to see the results of your efforts in real-time — from a smoother workflow to better patient outcomes — makes all the tough moments worthwhile.

Overall, being a medical practice manager is both challenging and fulfilling. It's a role that requires resilience, problem-solving, and a deep commitment to the success of the practice and the well-being of the patients it serves.



I had a good amount of years at this practice. Went from entry level position to the top. If I had a nickel for every time the thought crossed my mind that the doctors or certain managers did not care how much was on my plate, I'd be rich. They do not appreciate their employees. Appreciation to them means a $5 Albertson's cookie medley once a month, that's it. When the docs seek out feedback from the staff or management, they literally do the exact opposite because chances are it's what's either going to make them the most money or save them the most money. Even if the feedback was unanimous. The stress that this practice has brought on some employees has led them down some very dark paths and it's just not worth it. No job is worth that. I would STRONGLY suggest NEVER applying for any position at this practice. The workplace culture consists of constant gossip, distrust, people being severely overworked without being compensated fairly, and just down lies being told day after day after day. Please do yourself a favor and keep scrolling past job positions with this practice. 

I worked here for less than a year and the first couple of months were great! The schedule was very convenient and this a busy busy office so your day is definitely busy. They recently hired a new manager for the appointment scheduling department and that’s when things went down hill. Too much drama and definitely a hostile environment. Regardless if you’re good at your job or not you will be talked about and not in a good way. The company now prefers quantity over quality when it comes to the phone calls. Which a lot of errors are made because everyone is worried about the number of calls they take. You will have to deal management’s favoritism towards certain people.There’s gossiping ALL day long. You definitely shouldn’t have to listen to your manager talk  bad about other employees, managers and the providers.  It’s also uncomfortable having to listen to your manager talk about their personal life and flirting with other coworkers and their unprofessional comments. The stress and drama is not worth it! 

I was initially hired as front desk and it was a complete warzone. I was able to switch to the billing department in the corporate office only a couple of months after being hired, which completely improved my stress levels. The hours are actually really great, if you don't mind a 30 minute lunch. They used to have employee appreciation each month but that went away for some reason. I wouldn't recommend applying here now because they're changing and restructuring and outlook is very uncertain and unstable. Some managers are great (like for the surgery scheduling team), but other managers are not very helpful or just hard to get along with or they're in over their heads because they were promoted from entry level positions within the company.

What is the best part of working at the company?
They care for and respect the employees and value their input. They have multiple employ appreciation days where they order in pizzas or cakes or cookies, etc.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Climbing the stairs to and from the administration offices on the second floor!

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Relaxed and friendly and everyone is willing to help - all you need to do is ask and they don’t make you feel stupid for it!

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
That’s hard to answer because I have a lot of variety in my work so I’m not always doing repetitive tasks.

Management is not present. Managment duties given to non manager employees that give room for bias  non ethical process. little groups and lots of gossiping about both other employees and patients, just not professional. employee retention is horrible for that reason. Its not a place where employees can feel safe and comfortable. Job is well under paid for as much work that you are to do on a day to day. If you do a great job but miss days because of illness, with ER and Dr. notes you will still be let go, all while employees that clearly coming intoxicated and dont perform get chance after chance before they get let go. this was in office (front desk) 

Learned to only rely on myself to solve/eleviate issues. Any issue addressed to another department lead to them becoming confrontational. Management does not value or care about you; You are replaceable here. There are no incentives for going out of your way to help or assist team members. If you have a medical condition steer clear of this facility; They will actively find ways to make work life miserable and that you are at fault for issues out of your control. 

Management has recently changed. Several positive changes have been made. Excellent working environment, this has changed since the older reviews were posted. Zero tolerance for gossip/drama/negativity. The management team overall is exceptional, understanding and they value their employees resulting in an increase in employee retention. The physicians are approachable and will answer questions when needed. This practice has grown so much over the years and continues to expand. Overall this is a great place to work. 

This was hands down the worst job experience I’ve ever had. Management was disorganized, unprofessional, and showed little to no respect for employees. Expectations were constantly changing with no guidance, and mistakes caused by poor leadership were always blamed on staff. Communication was terrible, training was basically nonexistent, and overwork was treated as normal. Morale was extremely low, and turnover was high for a reason. I would not recommend this company to anyone looking for a healthy or supportive work environment.

To be honest, how it started when I was hired, I was not sure I would be here three years later, but with time came some really great decisions on change in management and managers, and I am super glad I stayed and help be a part of the change for the good. As a lead scheduler I wear many hats, but I am always supported by my direct manager and even the other managers. I cannot say enough how happy I am to see the massive change here and I am even more proud to be employee here.
