Arthritis Knee Pain Centers

I came to work at AKPC with the intention of finding a place to work long term. In my interview, I was told that AKPC provided a cohesive and pleasant work environment with a supportive an productive management team. I was also told that micro-management was not something done at AKPC as they are far too busy for hand holding since the company has recently experienced significant grown in the short time it's been open. 

For the above mentioned reasons, I gladly accepted the position AKPC. It didn't take long to realize that everything stated in the interview was a bold faced lie. Not only are you micro-managed - they also gaslight their employees. For Example; When you first begin you are doing excellent work and are worthy of a "promotion/more responsibilities" with no raise/additional benefits. Then, once you realize the additional work load and toll and you request a raise or some sort of compensation for doing additional work, management finds the smallest and most insignificant mistake you'd made X amount of months ago and says"... well you know this is what you did wrong and we need you to do better so you don't deserve a raise but we do think you can handle the increased work load." 
One person quit after we'd had a department meeting in which management stated that we're no longer able to "have excuses" in regards to calling into work and/or missing work for any reason. The coworker emailed a letter, not only to management, but to all employees describing how toxic and ineffective management is and that no one is allowed to voice their concerns/opinions about the job/management without adverse actions. 
After this employee quit management called a meeting to discuss this and to see if anyone felt the need to come forward with concerns regarding management. Only one employee stepped forward and spoke their truth. A week later, they were fired from the company. 

Since then, 10 employees have resigned from this department alone.
This place isn't worth the toll they take on your mental health. 

You’re provided inadequate training for a very short period of time, and then thrown to the wolves. Management? There are managers and VP’s who do not really manage. Everyone, no matter if you’re verifying benefits, doing authorizations, or a Professional coder, EVERYONE makes the same amount of money. Asking for PTO is impossible, because they’re understaffed. High employee turnover rate. Always short staffed, so people are doing multiple jobs, and not being compensated. The bonus system is an insult to my own intelligence. Insurance benefits aren’t worth the amount of stress you’ll have working here. Lack of employee appreciation and encouragement. You are always told to be faster and produce more numbers. Management insults intelligence and can be extremely vindictive and unprofessional. They simply don’t care about their employees, and it shows.  Don’t ask for a raise. No one is getting one this year. 

Working for this company has been such a draining experience. You are constantly expected to do the jobs of multiple people with little to no appreciation. The company does not care about the patients, they only seem to care about numbers and forcing treatment on people that they do not want. We were told not to give patients a "choice" and allow management to persuade them against what they feel is best for their bodies. MICROMANAGEMENT at its finest, managers pick and choose who to accommodate for and treats their hard-working employees terribly. So many people have quit or have gotten fired due to managements lack of professionalism and the shadiness within the company. They will accuse you of any and everything under the sun before they take accountability for their own actions. Overall, if you enjoy being overworked, underappreciated, micromanaged, accused of things you didn't do, and messiness then AKPC is the place for you!

No one lasts at this company more than a year unless you’re really close with management. Management picks favorites and does not treat everyone the same. There have been multiple covid outbreaks in this office which has caused us to have to work from home for a short period of time and then forced to return within a month. If you don’t feel comfortable returning to the office or have children who are sick management will tell you to figure it out. You have to be one of their favorites for them to want to work with you and allow you to work from home however long you please. They will not hesitate to deny PTO requests due to being short staffed since people are always quitting. 


I enjoy the work because there is always more than enough to keep me busy, I don't  like being idle. Any time I have a question or need input, I have the backing of my superiors to help. The benefits package, compensation, education assistance and bonus program are better than any I've seen recently and was made available to me sooner than at other companies. I have been given the opportunity to advance in my position in a very short time and am at all times treated with honest, integrity and respect. I would recommend this company to anyone seeking a solid position in the medical field.

I have been employed by AKPC and have been promoted from within. If the company sees hard work, dedication, flexibility and effort, it is acknowledged and encouraged. The practices have a high patient volume, which speaks to the treatments we provide, which is a good thing! Every team member has dedicated roles and responsibilities, which come together for great patient and work flows. The company offers 401k match, student loan repayment program, insurance benefits (with HSA), pto, and quarterly bonuses. There are tiers to management from practice manager to COO, and everyone is accessible through the company directory. Enterprise-wide trainings are provided monthly to ensure consistency. 

This is not a healthy work environment it is very unstable with Rude management,  the lack of proper management from upper authority, under the table injections, medical professionals drunk and vaping on the clock while actively seeing patients. There is No proper patient communication.  Job duties involve doing others job description while doing your duties, compensation is low , and overall disrespectful. There is constant staff turnover and doctors being let go and quitting, there is no stable doctor currently

Busy but fun, we always fit lunch in regardless of the schedule

In the beginning of this position everything seemed like it would be a fun place to work at, but as time progressed that was not the case. Management makes you feel incompetent when you ask them a question, as they don't know what is going on either. There is really no room for growth or to learn other things. They aren't grateful for any of their employees and the micromanaging is ridiculous. Please look somewhere else.
