What is the best part of working at the company?
The pay rate. The treatment of employees is terrible. But they pay good rates . At least to me. I have brought them clients. Never gave me anything in exchange. Even when they promise. Compensation.? I will not recommend any worker there. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
You tell them what you are willing to do. They don’t listen. They push the worker into situations that are very hard.? Worse they don’t care. About the patient or the worker. They don’t give information about the patient.  How, can you take care of a patient that you don’t know what’s there need.? Every one are in a different planet.? In that office. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
They don’t want to listen. To any problems. If you have one you must resolve it yourself. If you tell the family member they don’t want to hear it either. So you feel very alone, in the situation. Resolving things that are out of your hands. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Well you must come prepared to deal with . Patients moods, that is another subject.  They are never happy, but you need to be in the greatest of moods. They complain about so many things. I know it’s hard getting old. However, if a person wants to live they must put effort.  They are failing at walking, talking, hearing, keeping clean, eating ,  they don’t like anything. They complain. About their life. They talk as if they are done in life. But they want to keep living. So you do it for them. Because, they can’t do it any more. They want you to moved them . Feed them clean then. And keep them intertaint. It’s hard to play games. They can’t concentrated. Like cards, or bingo, coloring, or anything. They want you to do it for them. It’s an exsusting  job. From the moment you enter until you go. I love helping people. But they need to let me do it. Help them.  Every were I go I find people that need my help. I know I don’t have to help them . But I see someone in need I want to help. If they don’t understand I explain, if the don’t speak English I translate. And so on. That’s me.

Sometimes I felt like I was the only caregiver doing all of the tasks or even making sure the client is alive and other days there was not much to be done and it was a boring job, Lots of dementia clients which makes for no sleep and repetitiveness to no end, The cooking isn't that involved if you can meal plan and be prepared
Some of their clients or families are very harsh in their critiques of the caregiver.. and you are expected to do things for people who are not the client? 
Live in shifts make the most money but it is extra planning and time outside of work to be prepared and bring everything you need for 3 days, also be prepared to wake up several times a night for sure.
Overqualified for this position but had to take the job for a while. 

What I Learned: It is actually frightening how incompetent some of their "CNA" caregivers are... I expected nothing from the staff that were just caregivers, but a "CNA" who is paid more btw should know how to do things like use a gait belt properly, or take a blood sugar/blood pressure. I am staying far far FAR away from the home care industry.
On that note, they claim to be "home care" but in my opinion, many of the difficult client cases definitely need to be with more involved agencies like home health or a skilled nursing home where there are staff that can properly handle their needs and more social interactions.. (How do you entertain a 95 dementia client who has no hobbies? Not easy at home). There are good employees with brains with this company but the abundance/turnover of lazy, inadequate, unskilled ones are making them want to quit- along with nightmare they call scheduling. Overall it seems they keep patients they know aren't in the home care category of acuity despite safety issues because they are a franchise and want money.. duh.

● Work-life balance
They claim flexible schedule work your own set hours. They dont tell.you that they only give you 2/3 hour shifts at a time and unless you take up multiple last minute clients you will never make full time hours. And the shifts arent back to back so your entire day you are on call. Its rare that you will get a stanle schedule unless you ask the client to request you as the permanent care giver

● Pay & benefits
They make you feel guilty for having to request days off or shift changes when unexpected things happen

● Job security and advancement
They have little to no training just a quick rundown and you have to figure out the rest. There is no real training in dealing with dementia patients.

● Management
They pride themselves in helping U.S Vets and working with the V.A but most of their own clients will tell you how horrible the management treats their request and needs

● Culture
There have a revolving door with their office staff and their caregivers. Culture is only good when it benefits them to make you feel like it's a happy work place

● Overall
If you truly care about helping people this is not the place for you. They will feed on your kindness and underpay you and make you feel guilty when you need to switch shifts or call off unexpectedly. The owners of the franchise need to be retrained. The lady is always in a horrid mode and definently let's you know. 
They send undertrained people to caregiver for dementia clients. They o ly schedule you 2 or 3 hours a day and unless you take up random and last minute clients and are always on call you will never get full time hours.

When hired I was told that 95% of my job would be working in the office and would rarely have to cover caregivers shifts. I was hired to be in office not a caregiver. 
I literally was at a clients house 80% of the time covering said shifts. The caregivers are underpaid so they have no Incentive to show up and if they don’t the client still needs to be cared for. I ended up having to cover 1am to 3am shifts and still get up and be in the office first thing in the morning. I literally did not have any time at home. No work life balance. 

There is a Nampa and Boise office and it was horrible. The Nampa office would constantly steal caregivers that were already set with clients to cover theirs and whenever we would mention this to the regional manager he would get mad and say we were making excuses for not being able to do our jobs. But if we did that to Nampa we’d be screamed at and told to fix it. Clearly he favored the Nampa branch and he was 1 of the main reasons I quit. The “HR” lady is problematic too. She would constant stir the pot and call and yell about what was going on even tho it was in no way her job to do so. She used to be a caregiver so she constantly felt it was her duty to be involved even tho she quit caregiving because she couldn’t handle it anymore. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
Staff is amazing, so friendly, and REALLY care about clients as well as employees. Unlike other companies, you do feel as if you are valued and taken seriously. They will help you get what you need as far as hours, locations, work times etc. Office is always easy to reach and someone is on-call 24/7. After working for 5 different home health companies, this is by far the best experience I’ve had. If you care about caregiving, it’s great to have your company/ managers/ bosses be just as involved and hardworking as yourself.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
As with any other home health company, hours can change at any moment when a client cancels shifts for whatever reason. The pay is very competitive for the field in general but raises/ benefits such as health insurance are not really available. This is the standard for most companies. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Incredibly friendly work environment as far as office and management staff. They will get to know you and you feel genuinely valued. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Days are always different depending on the client you are seeing, but you can let the managers know your preferences (shift length, things you are or are not comfortable with, things you may need training on)

What is the best part of working at the company?
This company appreciates their employees and treats them with respect.  It is a home health company where I was a CNA.  I tell them when I am available and what kinds of clients I would like or not like to have (for example: I prefer to not work with bedbound patients as it is hard on my back)  so I don't have to accept any job I don't want.  They want the client and the employee to both be treated with respect and their needs to be heard.  

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
If someone calls out and they need you to cover, it is not expected you cover but if they are desperate for someone you may feel you should take it to be a team player (which I am and I do usually say yes if available).  The upside is, if they offer something to you on short notice they up the pay per hour.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Everyone is nice and we feel appreciated.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
It varies.  There are some clients that only want 3 or 4 hours of care and others that need you to say all day. (but you have a choice).  I personally liked taking a few long days vs working daily.  Its whatever works for you and the client.  Oh and most of the homes we work at are really nice (ie situated on the river or lake) so the day goes by faster.

Every client and most days are different. But a “typical” day of working as a caregiver involves being present, caring, and helpful to your client. Through this job I have learned how to cultivate more patience and compassion than I ever thought possible. I feel more connected to my humanity, as cheesy as that sounds. I love helping people anyway though, so if you don’t have that characteristic to begin with, then I’d say this isn’t the job for you. Management is always friendly and helpful. I have literally never had a moment of frustration with any of them. I always feel heard and respected and safe. As far as workplace culture goes, I’m rarely in the office except for when I need supplies or to drop off paperwork etc, but when I am there it’s pretty much a typical office environment. Everyone is always very friendly. The office sends out birthday cards which is incredibly thoughtful. And there are other regular acts of appreciation. Definitely a very nice vibe! The hardest part of the job is probably the same as any other job: occasional disrespectful clients. But that’s just life, and most of the clients are incredibly sweet. The best parts of the job are the amazing clients, the flexible hours, and the general sense of purpose you get from being someone’s caregiver.

When one of the supervisors was there she was up front with you she gave a person a chance in life some of the clients was good Fathers I know some of the ones that I went to was on point and was very good to me

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Get into work depend on way to work was at some bus go the direction you want it to go but some of it is is some doing some walking if you don't have a car so I let them know upfront at the time I didn't have a car but I made it there I made it my business getting there

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Very good I don't have no problems I didn't really come to make friends I came to do my work and be very cordial and never bring my business to my clients home it's all about them most of all to show them what I know how to take care of their parents are them

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Very busy and getting my schedule my time sheets my clients them schedule and what they can and cannot do and what I'm doing to get them care

they try to give you permanent clients to fit your flexible schedule. they will contact you if there is any open shifts or a client cancels a visit. working with this company i learned that they will get you to work hard with your clients and regardless how communicative/flexible you are with the office they won't give you a raise. some challenges i experienced while working for this company is when they schedule you a client after your current client, the shift starts with very little travel time.  i had to contact the scheduler to change the shift times so that i could make it to the next client on time.  in those instances, it's not about me not getting paid, it's about this client not getting the proper care because i arrived late to my shift. the most enjoyable part of this job was that these permanent clients the staff assigned to me became friends like family. i provided the best possible amount of care to all my clients and knowing that they felt a sense of security and happiness when i was with them made all the hard work pay off.

Some people should not franchise a business.  They play favorites, they try to get people to quit to avoid unemployment and just because they dont like them. They do not care about the caregivers. When covid happened I had to go out and buy masks and gloves since they didnt. They literally bring drama and start issues with caregivers for no reason, they pin everyone against eachother. They even talk badly about the clients. They had me train a felon for christ sakes that cant be in the field for this job just becausethey didnt want to work. They have you do dirty work which we shouldnt be doing. They dont care if you have medical notes or anything they will bully you into working something you cant after you try giving them doctors papers.  They threaten your pay, call you while they are under the influence and even clients. If you cant work a shift they will threaten your hours to be dropped. Stalk previous employees. They do not care about employees,  they will play nice then turn around and trash your name and play stupid when you have proof of it all.
