Consistently blatant favoritism and ongoing dishonesty is just awful. Fall of 2019, our Collections Manager called a meeting to falsely advise of a new Recovery Manager who was coming from an outside company. Turned out the new Recovery Manager previously worked with our Collections Manager at a completely different outside company than the outside company our Collections Manager advised us of where she was coming from when we were advised of new Recovery Managers' background and experience. Also withheld was that they were friends with each other. Why not just say that new Recovery Manager came from same prior company that current Collections Manager came from, and that they were friends with each other? New hire referral bonuses are not a secret, nor is the favoritism, dishonesty and inconsistency in our department. Less than 30 days on job, new Recovery Manager then went on company trip with current Collections Manager (friend) to Las Vegas that previous Recovery Manager was never able to attend. Same new Recovery Manager then went to Puerto Rico less than 60 days on the job with current Collections Manager (friend) for "business", although department in Puerto Rico visited had NOTHING to do with new Recovery Manager's position, as there are NO recovery associates in Puerto Rico. Only one collections associate in Puerto Rico even speaks fluent English, (there are only three total) and our new Recovery Manager does not even speak Spanish.  Again, just like the Las Vegas "business" trip same previous Recovery Manager was also never able to attend Puerto Rico. None of us were ever even approached about applying for the new Recovery Manager position either. Morale couldn't be any lower in our department, and many of us want out of our department or out of company.

The Credit Union overall treats its members with respect and like family. There is, however, strong hints of favoritism in the working environment. A typical day at work involves a lot of tasks and multitasking. My title may be just a service rep, but I also do loans, mortgages, wires, answer calls, enter various transactions....etc, and attend member's needs at the same time. Management within my workplace is not what I was told in the beginning when I first started. It's rough and (hate to say it) two-faced. My co-workers are amazing. We work very well as a team. The hardest part of the job is having 5 to 6 different jobs placed on one person & hearing nothing , but negativity from the manager, which makes the job even more stressful and less productive. The most enjoyable part of my job is being able to help members who come in asking for help. I love helping people and making them smile. It makes my day. I just wish I can manage this in a brighter and more enjoyable environment.

The Credit Union and its affiliate, Baxter Healthcare are very charity-driven and involved in many projects and programs to help the community.  These charity drives are not just around the holidays, but throughout the year.  Staff have ample opportunity to volunteer and 'give back' to the community.

From the time I joined the Credit Union as a part-time temp, and subsequently became a permanent employee, the organization has grown considerably and continues to add service centers to its portfolio.  The service center staff on the front line are driven to provide the best possible member service.

I worked as a Member Relations Rep which they may have changed the name but its pretty much the front line employees.

The environment was fun and warm. The benefits were good. 
However, there is no room to grow, the  management is terrible and will only promote by favoritism. The management does NOT "have your back" they are only concerned about themselves. 
The management would all sit at one office and laugh out loud with no respect to all the employees on the phones, which they expect us to be professional and courteous yet they sit behind our ears laughing and NOT working.

Be thankful!  You have a job, we don't train but we expect you to know it all, figure it out, do it all and not complain at all.  meanwhile, don't expect to be paid a living wage, especially in Vernon Hills.  but, be thankful, don't complain...all the managment have great salaries and if we have to refund our members or write off some claims if they complain, that's just the cost of doing business. But, your salary...be thankful you have a job, plus, add an additional 20k to your salary, that's the value of your benefits!  (try to explain that to the groshery store)

The company has a strong presence and makes significant contributions to the community including year round charitable donations, sponsoring education scholarships, supporting 5K runs and an Angel Tree.

Steady growth provides ample opportunity for advancement and promotion from within is emphasized.  There is also a focus on professional development and continuing education.

I opened their newest service center so I put in more hours than anyone else.
I learned about business development and marketing plans.
Management was supportive but their goals were not aligned with my goals.
The culture was for me to define and I developed a top producing branch where people enjoyed coming to work.
The hardest part of the job was to sacrifice my goals to align with my manager's goals.
The most enjoyable part of the job was building an office more successful than the company could foresee.

The work place is nice the people are nice they provide the employees free fountain drinks coffee and food on many occasions. The call volume is not very hectic semi casual environment. Management is not always honest with you when reviewing your performance because of lack of communication. The pay is decent but no chance for a bonus as a member services rep.

Best place of employment EVER !!!  The management and team are truly the best out there.  Fast paced and family friendly environment .  You need to know how to multitask in order to work here.   Would recommend it a million times over.   The only thing that I can say is that was very stressful and this happens at every financial institution at least once is when the power goes out due to whatever circumstance.
