What is the best part of working at the company?
They gave me a chance that's why I rate 5 stars .. Though some flaws an poor communication with their workers an lack of understanding a solution or addressing a problem.. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Working over board going in never  saying no.. Then come pay day my checks will be only 4 hundred something dollars with only getting paid twice a month  still to this day that's was . My only problem .. why I couldn't get paid right knowing I at time seeing 120 hour from people calling in to me working from Friday til Sunday night. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The culture was  very noticeable of a work place trying to equal an consider everyone right to work. The environment was clean private a busy. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
A typical day for me at the company was me saying Yes knowing I was going to be called in for work. Or asked  if I could  over and never seen an over time pay check.. luckily I was working mainly to make sure my client was being cared for the most proper loving careful way that I could . Cause that is what matter the most.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Nothing I would give a zero if it were an option.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Management is terrible. Payroll checks bounce, they take out taxes but pocket them and won’t verify to the irs that you’ve worked there so your taxes can be released. They treat the dsps like trash. My clients also complain that they run their credit cards way before due. Terrible company.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
It’s a hostile enviremnet. If you refuse a shift they talk down to you, yell at you and threaten with your job. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Stressful this has been the worst job ever.

What is the best part of working at the company?
I love working with everyone there! Clients, Staff and Management. Knowing we are able to keep our client's in there own homes is the most rewarding feeling at the end of the day!

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
It's a fast paced and ever changing field so you learn the skills you need. I was there for 6-7 monthes and really "dug in". I was promoted!

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
It varies from home to home. You meet alot of people.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Im in and out of the homes of our clients. Some days are interviews, orientations and office work.

If you are a weekend worker be prepared to be walked all over. I tried to call out because I was throwing up and was told I still had to come into work. I had a pain flare up due to preexisting joint problems basically was told I still need to go to work even though I personally didn't feel comfortable that I could safely help transfer a client due to my pain. Also I was told after 3 months I would have a work review done which I was looking forward to so I could see where I needed to improve well that never happened nor did the pay raise I was promised. Other than empty promises and feeling walked all over it was overall one of the better home health care companies I have worked with.

I would recommend finding a different home care company and avoid this one at all costs. You will not be treated well, or even decent at that. You will not be paid as you should-even when you monitor it closely. They will talk in circles and make excuses for not paying you properly. Management is staffed with people who do not possess the skills needed for the job, and they are quickly running what could've been a good company into the ground. You'll regret the choice to go to work for these people in almost no time at all. 

They don't pay you what you're owed either on time or at all. Checks are always messed up. They treat you like garbage when you mention it and tell you you're a poor employee and do not deserve the pay they hire you in at. They say they give you everything, when they do not and say bad things About you. I've been told I'm a poor employee because I called out with a fever during this whole COVID-19 so I didn't take anything to my clients and they docked my rate of pay for it

This is the worst agency ever. They typically hire high school graduates with no experience. Their training is laughable and doesn’t cover the tasks. they expect you to perform. The turnover rate is outrageous. They even have you sign an NDA. What company does that unless they have something to hide. The upper management is probably the least professional I have ever dealt with in my life. In conversations they are condescending, call you names,threaten  you annd even hang up on you.  I am only speaking because I’m concerned about the health and safety of the client they are supposed to serve.

This company is amazing and the owner goes above and beyond not only for our clients but for his staff as well. I have seen him pay for a staff members car to get fixed so she could come to work, rent, and whatever else out of pocket and never got paid back. He is very professional but very caring.  I love that we provide care to people who are not able to be alone and allow them to remain in the comfort of their own home. I highly recommend to people needing services as well as those who are inquiring about work. All around great company. The only bad things you'll ever hear are from those who was asked to leave for refusing to do their job.

I have worked at Black Pearl for almost a year. This was my first job working with older people. When I was hired, I worked 10-6 with a steady schedule. It was perfect! I didn’t get a pay raise until I switched to support position. In this position, I was traveling to many different places in Kentucky. It took a toll on me. Also I was traveling to these far off places for like one hour to train and it didn’t seem worth the pay raise to continue being a Support. I loved the clients and the management team because they were very flexible with schedule as a student and always made me feel valued as a worker. 

Black Pearl Home Care is more like family! The clients are the best part of this career. Being able to help clients in there time of need is so important. Offering and ensuring quality care inside of your home is upmost important!
