A typical day at work consisted of arriving 30 minutes before the first patient(s) checked in. Reviewing documents to make sure we have everything we need from the referring offices, setting up the rooms, bringing the patient and their guardian back to the exam room, gathering information from them, taking an X-ray if needed, scribing for the dr and lastly providing the patient/guardian with the necessary information regarding their upcoming procedure. That goes on all day until the end of the day. Also, most DAs will be required to float at least once a week so you’ll be going back and forth from assisting to sterilizing instruments. If you can be flexible, learn fast, jump in where needed and get along with your fellow DAs, the day will always go smoothly for you. I had no experience in the dental field but I learned a lot very quickly within my first 30 days. If you’re trained by the right person, you’ll do fine as a beginner. Management is what I had an issue with. Management is very performative, confusing and condescending. God forbid you have an actual life outside of work. Management will pretend to be caring and understanding of the things you need to handle outside of work (being sick, tending to family, etc) and then suddenly you arrive at work the next day and you’re written up for it. Another thing, management made all of these promises in the interview and had not followed through. The workplace culture could use some work because it’s become quite toxic. Their mission is amazing but they don’t uphold their values. Overall, great mission, and great company just the wrong people working in it. The hardest part of the job is having to turn a patient away due to their health related circumstances. As someone who’s empathic, it’s never a good feeling having to tell a parent that we can’t see their child here for often reasons beyond their control and ours. The most enjoyable part is obviously the children. We get some of the cutest little ones, even on a bad day at work…seeing their faces makes me remember why I’m here. Overall, it’s been a great place to work to gain experience but life is about evolving and once you’ve outgrown something or the environment no longer feels right for you, it’s time to move forward. 

Working for Blue Cloud has hands down been the most positive work environment I've ever experienced. The execs clearly care so much about our success as a facility and as individual employees. Company wide, anyone is only a quick email, message, or phone call away with any question we may have. Location specific, our team is INCREDIBLE. "Work besties" is an understatement. The mission of this company is so beautiful, and being a part of helping these patients brings me to tears on a more regularly basis than I'm proud to admit. Knowing how much of a difference we are making in the lives of the patients and their care givers is so fulfilling. 

Our facility is genuinely filled with so much joy. We laugh constantly. Even in the face of a trickier situation, those scenarios are always approached with love. When I've gotten frazzled, another team member is always there to help encourage and support me. I could not be more grateful to be here!

They have killed my love for healthcare. I have lost all my empathy, compassion and care. All of the qualities that made me a great healthcare worker have been killed by this place. If you have any self respect stay far far away from this place. They have no respect for employees or even their physicians for that matter. expect you to work like a dog. There is never any coverage because no one wants to work for blue cloud specially Orlando site. It has become a very sad place to be. The turn over is crazy the lack of support and poor management along with the unprofessional Human Resources person in charge.
It wasn’t always this way unfortunately. Orlando childrens surgery center  used to be a good place to work.
Stay away from it.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Not the same company. Previously it was a nice place to work. New ownership and it's all about money now. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Management including HR. They do not care about you. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Negative. Try to help others and you get treated badly. Everyone takes offense to everything because different department heads make it so you only communicate within your department. You can't reach out to someone who was directly involved with a case, you have to go through management heads of each team and that causes teams to get angry at each other and decrease in real training. It's also a huge waste of time. You now have two grumpy managers and the original team member feels attacked. It's sad to treat employees that way.

Working at the call center was not bad before they made the decision to merge all teams together. We went from answering calls for 10 center to now over 35 but no need for a raise since “you only take one call at a time”. Parents are rude, some managers are clueless, if you are BILINGUAL do not expect to get paid more for the skill. Calls started coming back to back affecting overall mental health. The cherry on top was the 2% year raise though, it this economy that should be criminal. If you are looking for a starter job to gain some experience or just desperate to get anything that pays something but drains your soul then this is the place for you. If you are seeking for a job that brings any sort of satisfaction to your life or seek advancement from within this is not it.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The hours are pretty great and the job is flexible with your life schedule.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The consistent amount of change. This company is very numbers driven and all they care about is seeing as many people as possible REGARDLESS of their medical history and with this being a outpatient center they do not have the appropriate tools to take on certain people. It is a very sketchy environment. Everyday you feel like your license is at risk.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Very passive aggressive! If certain people don’t like you they will make coming to work unbearable. No real leadership/ guidance everybody is just winging it. & they’re all a bunch of liars and narcissists.

Every company has something to work on, just like people, but Blue Cloud works hard to change with the current business market to stay competitive for employees, and offers remote work for positions where it makes sense, PTO, benefits, 401K, and the opportunity for quarterly bonuses and annual reviews with the opportunity for a merit increase! Blue Cloud also loves to recognize the hard work their employees put into the company not only just by thanking them with incentive programs, but also promoting from within rather than hiring from outside the company. Leadership takes their employees opinions, and reviews to heart, and tries to make necessary changes... This is an organization where I feel heard...

Not enough training to complete your job.  Managers expect you to be a minimum of two weeks out on the schedule to meet certain quotas every month.  Must  be able to complete many tasks & still stay ahead.  Expect more job duties to be added without notice.

Must be an expedient learner to stay afloat.  Younger staff seem to thrive in this type of environment.  Older staff seem to struggle to comply to deadlines etc.  

Managers will work with you as long as you keep them apprised of your issues.  Raises are extremely minimal for the amount of work needed to be completed.

This company offers good benefits but especially in the Orlando location the management is very poor as well as the scheduling, employees don’t have a good life/work balance, Job is demanding and rewarding but working here burns you out if you don’t have a good management.
Often a 12-13 hour shifts with no lunch and barely a break, no incentives for employees, no consideration at all. Doctors are great to work with but center director and assistant lead are the issue because of their unprofessionalism. 

I have been working for this company for 4 years and I have been a nurse for 20 years. I have worked many places in Dallas and this is, by far, the best job I’ve ever had. Management cares about you, are extremely generous and benefits are good. The best parts for me are no nights, weekends or holidays and the hours are so much better than the hospital, by FAR!! Safe, quality care. The thing that stands out most is how much they care for their employees and value family. Management makes it a priority to get staff out in a timely manner each day to ensure we spend quality time with our families and loved ones. Best.Job.Ever!!! I cannot say enough amazing things about Blue Cloud.
