There is no typical day at work. Everyday is a new day. While at Blue Ridge, I have learned that the most important part of each day is the clients. The clients are the ones which bring me back each scheduled day. I have learned that management does not appear to be very sympathetic about their staff needs and makes it difficult for the staff to have a balance between family life and work life. Most of the staff all went to the same rehabilitation and pretty much recruited their own peers. In other words, prior to working at Blue Ridge they had known each other so there is a clique. Which makes the majority of staff in recovery themselves. This can be a pro and a con. The hardest part of the job is feeling unheard by management, the unwillingness to help the staff which doesn't do much for the moral. The most enjoyable part of the job is working for the clients.

Being a part of Blue Ridge Mountain recovery center was meaningful, and it was amazing and such a blessing to advocate and support our clients and recovery.

I had some challenges with upper management, however, the rewards far outweigh the challenges

Great place to work. I started as a client advocate and I love it. Friendly coworkers And Grateful dedicated management. My supervisor welcomed me to work every day for like my first 90 days.

Don't expect to be respected unless you have had personal experience with addiction. Management only cares about the clients and not the employees. Lack of communication and no room for growth. 

I gained knowledge of treating people with addiction, medically detoxing them, assessing them and keeping them safe medically. It was rewarding to be a part of helping people with a positive change in their lives and seeing them grow.

Excellent place to work and gain knowledge. Whether you are full time or PRN etc. You will always been learning and getting to know staff and clients. It has a family feel to it!

Loved working here. The staff really care and it is amazing to be apart of the recovery process and help make a difference in peoples lives. You can really see how much this treatment helps the clients.

Wonderful place to work. Great benefits and amazing team! I never had a day where i wasn't excited to go to work. Each and every day someone is willing to help, and always steps up to the plate.

It was an OK place to work. They need to get more diversity in the workplace. It is uncomfortable to work some where that there is only 2 blacks and the rest white

Expect to be busy serving one of the most challenging populations in the MH field. Management is helpful and very accessible. Not for the faint of heart!
