*Worked on maintaining and improving software that supported the insurance quoting, policy issue, underwriting and other areas.
*Learned how to work with IBM systems and code in RPG Free. Also learned basic process of insurance industry.
*Management styles were mixed from encouraging managers to those that had no people skills and were discouraging. Upper management worked with a hands off approach.
*Co-workers were encouraging. We worked well at solving issues together.
*Hardest part of the job was communicating with certain managers.
*I enjoyed solving problems for other departments and working with my co-workers.

The job itself is alright, the management is better in certain departments, there's ample room for advancement & wage increase; yet, wage increase is small for each time you do move up. The culture itself is amazing. they treat the business model as a small business which has its blessings and curses, they are slow to change and have a difficult time with some aspects that almost seem industry  standard to other companies. But, this also increases who you know and how you feel while you there. it seems like the company does care about the individuals, both the employees and the insured.

I was new to the application development area when I started. My manager challenged me to get out of my comfort zone as I learned the skills I needed to be successful in my role. He was also patient as I learned at my speed. I experienced more personal and professional growth with BMIC than with any of my previous employers. I am grateful

Absolutely loved the entire Culture of Brotherhood Mutual. Individuals from management on down were Always inclusive of the staff, concerned about us as Individuals and the love was amazing. The best group of people I ever had the pleasure of working with. If I had not relocated I would still be there!

I couldn't say a negative word about Brotherhood Mutual Insurance Company. There's a certain type of characters that would enjoy working there ~ fresh out of college, I wish I would have found BMIC about 10 to 20 years later.

I worked there for over a year. Christian environment. They also have a Chapel for employees, and they just expanded for the third time. Good place to work.

I have really enjoyed the work environment and collaboration between depts. my job is dynamic and I have an established and clear path to my future with the company. The benefits and compensation are more than adequate. I would recommend this company to others.

A very large company that is growing larger.  Offers many perks to the job including a very nice kitchen and gym.  Some trips to conferences offered.  Caring and friendly people.  Advancement opportunities available.

Nice people,  good job security and the pay was great! The work was easy, very supportive co workers willing to help. They take care of their employees. One of the best jobs I ever had.
