Good hours and great pay and flexibility to do things when needed in the day, but the management was a joke. They often changed roles and received orders from too many supervisors and they didn't communicate what was going on with one another. Many of them were also incompetent and didn't have the appropriate work experience. HR was a joke too and was never helpful and there was no sense of direction and no room for growth, as there was a lot of nepotism. There wasn't a great support system with upper management and they always gave us the run around or "I'll have to get back to you on that." Literally were always clueless. The workplace culture was one sided as they forced people to be culturally correct and abide by their rules even if it meant putting down your own views. This mean not being able to speak up in chats or zoom calls if that meant going against whatever they stated because they say it would cause "conflict." They force you to use pronouns everywhere, thus violating your own views. They say they respect everyones views, but they don't. They cater to a specific crowd. In addition,  when they let us go, there was little to no support and many of us are still jobless. This job was a glorified roll and didn't give us meaningful skills or experience to use in other fields. Even the training lacked and had to learn a lot on our own. The burnout was high at times and they even debated to give us a measly 3% raise, some which they didn't backpay as they said they would. 

The CDC Foundation was a great place to work and my supervisor was one of the best I've ever had. There was very good work-life balance. The only downside--though it was a big one--was that they kept changing the date of the end of our contracts. We were also required to keep this information a secret from our local partner agencies. My notice of layoff was given with barely 3 weeks of notice, after I'd been told previously that I'd stay on for a few more months. The upper management at CDC Foundation treated us as though we were chess pieces, disposable things, and couldn't seem to decide how long they needed us. At one point we were told that we'd be moved to some other agency rather than laid off altogether. The CDC Foundation can give you very valuable experience and opportunities--but you should keep applying for permanent positions no matter how much you like your job, because you never know when the rug will be pulled out from under you, despite earlier assurances to the contrary. To add insult to injury, they would not say we were being "laid off"--they described it as being "rolled off" the contract. Obviously a euphemism to make themselves feel better about it.

Formerly loved this organization and contributing to its mission, but really disappointed in the lack of support received after revealing ASD. They give a lot of lip service to DEIAB. But HR is a disaster and management has no idea how to handle a neurodivergent colleague, despite being provided many links and resources. Assistance was repeatedly sought to no avail, and instead, the troublemaker label was attached, which led to firing. 

Terrible fear culture above and below the line. Zero team cohesiveness/unity. Thus, people are scared to death to speak up or out, lest they offend higher-ups. 

Meanwhile, there are few raises and no chance for advancement whatsoever. So yeah, avoid. And consider donating your hard-earned dollars elsewhere as well. #truthtopower

CDC Foundation assigns everybody to a local jurisdiction which determines your scope of work, schedule, and responsibilities. They train, provide required equipment, and supervise your work. So, alot of the experience is dependent on the jurisdiction and the local lead. The work can sometimes be very intense, other times less so. If the local lead is good, the position can be a great experience. You may meet other CFC Foundation members and work as a team on various projects.

The day would normally start with a Teams meeting if we were not on -site.  On-site days would begin at our location.
We joined in on seminars related to our field of work.  We were allowed to take classes approved by the CDCF.  The thing I learned didn’t come from a class or seminar but from working on-site.
When representing the CDCF you must not let others affect your ability to do your job.  We were there to educate and help school districts by providing knowledge and an extra set of hands.  Knowing some might agree with what we were doing or saying had to be handled with grace.
The management team was excellent.
The hardest part of the job was when my contract ended.
The best part of my job was working with wonderful people and feeling as though I was making a difference.

There is a lot of people that are in need, and it’s very hard when you cannot accomplish the need for everyone

There is every culture at this company,great environment and they try their best to understand the culture of an individual so they don’t offend them.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Extremely busy. Communicating with people that are in need and trying to my best to accomplish as much as I can for them or give them the best resource that I can give them.

My manager is amazing. You know she is listening to you when she checks in with you a month later and remembers the conversation from the last checkin. Encourages you to use your PTO and have a work/life balance. 
Work was a combination of online and patient care until vaccinations started, then it was 100% patient care. This is a contract job, however, they extend as needed and encourage you to extend or apply to another foundation job and stay in public health. 
I enjoyed the team I work with, we made clear roles with each other based on our individual strength. One nurse may have better computer skills, while another paid attention to detail, and yet another connected with patients. We lifted each other up. 

Great place to work due to collaborative culture and satisfaction of serving communities across the US.

Typically worked remote 9-5 with a 1hr paid lunch. Management, from immediate supervisor to CEO very open and accessible. 

Extremely open and collaborative environment. 

Working with an all remote crew can be a challenge to stay motivated and connected but my particular project team is very supportive and collaborative.

The other job I had, I didn't have to communicate it. It was accepted and I have to communicate here because I am working at home And I think that's the best part, communicating.

The world culture is not. Community. But more of a family. Oriented.

Being able to take up as many challenges as needed and having the opportunity to take up as much training as needed to improve one's performance  has been the best part if working with CDC Foundation

Like every other job, being able to provide spontaneous solutions to unpredictable issues can be stressful
