I LOVED my job but hated working for this company. My clients were amazing and the only reason why I left was because I had to move out of state for school. My coordinator left and no one told me so I was emailing daily for, no exaggeration, months and heard nothing back. When I would call they would say my coordinator was unavailable and they would have someone call me back and then they didn't. When I finally called and asked what they heck was going on they said my coordinator left and they assigned me to someone else. This person was so hands off I had to do everything on my own. Thankfully I already had an established client base or I don't know if i would have received any hours. I had a set schedule and my clients wouldn't show up in the app for me to clock in so I would call and they would say something a long the lines of "oh yeah they ran out of hours for the month." or "I don't see that they have a schedule set up for this client for this month. Let me go talk to someone" despite my having the same schedule with this client for literally YEARS. Mom or dad couldn't leave and I wouldn't know if I showed up for nothing until hearing back from them IF i heard back from them. No communication from them at all. The cool part about this job is if you call off they don't care. They will still call you the next day and ask you to take a client. They'll also hire anyone. If you tell them you don't want to work with a client anymore they'll take you off the case and they don't hold a grudge, they'll still give you other clients. 

I would get calls to take clients last minute while I was at a client's house. They'll ask you to take clients even though you're scheduled with other clients. You're basically in charge of managing your own schedule with your clients because they wont do that for you. They discourage you contacting the client directly but that was the most efficient way for me to make sure that my client wasn't being left high and dry and mitigating any miscommunication caused by the lack of organization of the office staff. I would call in sick and give plenty of notice, but they wouldn't tell my clients I was sick so I ended up communicating on my own a lot. I would also then have to go call pay roll because just because you call out sick it doesn't mean they'll pay you sick hours. Don't let them just take you off the schedule because then you cant claim your sick hours for that shift because you're "not scheduled to work then". Just a money hungry unorganized cluster. Also the pay rate isn't consistent. I had to check my stub every week and make sure all of my hours were counted and I was getting paid the right rate. I got covid but they capped the sick hours that I could use out of my earned hours (48 for the month despite working 55+ hours a week and having hundreds of hours in my sick hour bank because I never called out) so I was SOL for multiple weeks because I kept testing positive for covid still but I couldn't use my sick hours EVEN THOUGH I WAS SICK with documentation.

The clients are a joy to work with, and coordinators are understanding about client-caregiver chemistry. Sometimes a client just doesn't work out. If you're punctual and do your job and have a good rapport with parents/caretakers, you'll always have a steady client base and plenty of hours. You can take time off whenever as long as you tell them a few days beforehand.

However, communication is terrible. I've been double booked by my coordinator more times than I can count. Clients will cancel and the office won't tell me, so I'll drive an hour out to a client who isn't there. They don't compensate for mileage fairly, and only pay bare minimum wage for sometimes backbreaking work. There have also been times when a client has canceled due to having covid and the office failed to tell me that, so I'm potentially spreading a highly contagious deadly virus amongst vulnerable disabled people. 

You need a LOT of patience for this job no matter who you're working with. I've been hit on, groped, and called slurs various times. You're also often dealing with parents who are on edge about allowing their kid with a stranger so be wary of your behavior with the children in your care, make a good impression. 

All in all, a great place to work for those who need flexibility and who love kids or elderly people. Just be prepared to pay a metric tonne in gas and make friends with your clients so you'll have a safety net when hours are low. And be sure to know in advance when you're getting sick because there's no official sick leave, just canceled appointments!

I like working at Cambrian, my department is like family. We are not micromanaged, we know our responsibilities and go in ready to tackle the days challenges. They don't get on you unless your really not doing what your supposed to. Within each department you might have a set of responsibilities or areas, but you should be willing to help your coworkers if you are done with your usual assignment. Theres no such thing as thats not my area or my client etc…. You definitely need to be a good team player, your coworkers will appreciate that and so will the supervisors and management. 

The company has grown a lot since i have started, and continues growing. Our management is constantly working on ways to show there appreciation to employees. Management is very approachable, they have an open door policy and although very busy at times they are more than happy to sit and talk to you if there is any concerns or questions you might have. 

The one thing i do wish would change is the way they give raises. If you want a raise you have to ask, and be ready to answer why you feel you deserve one. We do not have an employee review or anything of the sort.

Overall i do recommend working for Cambrian. There are little things here and there that need adjusting just like any other company. Fortunately management is always working on finding ways to fix concerns and make our work environment more enjoyable. 

I worked for Cambrian for about 4years . Was a good worker always was ready to pick up any case and there was a moment last summer I was going thru a change of environment and moved out on my own . Well my kids I had two that were in early head start thru out the year long and one 5yr old who was going to be in kinder  . He couldn’t go to school and I had no one to babysit him . I understood that there were rules and policies we had to go by Butt this was an emergency and I needed to work to support my family well I brought my child to work with me and yes I understand that there’s a safety issue but client was fine with it but still called the company letting them know but long story short I was fired bcuzz I took my kid to work who isn’t a concern at all even with the client and when I got my termination letter it sstated that I got I stopped working there and at that I had called thee first time e about my letter when I got the wrong letter at first so my actual letter I had to call and pick it up personally to the company so I felt that my rights were violated and they know that they couldn’t fire me or an family emergency especially involving a child . I know I was wrongly fired

Common work weeks are 5-20 hours. I have been asked to drive 45-60 minutes for only one 2-3 hour scheduled visit for the day. No mileage is paid for that drive either. 
Communication is very lacking. Parents/primary care providers would request for me to do a scheduled visit and be told I was unavailable when I wasn't even asked about availability. If a scheduled visit needed to be cancelled due to health or family issues, it was met with rudeness and contempt. Parents would also complain about coordinators speaking rudely to them as well.
The first and only time I've had to walk into my area's office location for supplies (was trained at a different office location due to the pandemic), I had multiple office employees look at me, say something under their breath to each other and looking me up and down with this snarky smile as if I was beneath them. I'm polite when it comes to interacting in the office environment and I don't like confrontation, so this left me with a bad first impression about the people I "work under". 
I'm sticking with it to bring in some income, but I'm currently looking for another job. This just isn't the company for me.

if you want more hours you might be jumping from client to client wasting a lot of gas and spending time on the road because clients wont be close to each other. At times I would be taking care of kids which was not a problem but sometimes the parents would leave and conveniently forget their other kids as well but their other kids are older or something and can legally be in the house without supervision it was strange really and because it wasn't a after school program there was nothing to do with the kids but let them do whatever the parents had planned which at times was nothing and there were times I did not know I was going to be watching a kid until I got there so when the parents had nothing for me to do with their kids for the couple of hours I was with them I had to get creative I mean its my job to be hanging out with this kid not be on my phone ignoring them so I ended up having to buy my own just in case the parents don't plan kit for my car which sucked at times because the kids ages also varied and I never knew what ages I would get. I preferred to get the older clients their families usually had stuff for grandpa to do its funny that way.

The client is always happy and following instructions. We work on academics such as Math, Reading and Writing skills and I give client breaks as needed. I teach client how to care for personal hygiene. Assist client with toileries. Play board/computer games, paint and play basket/hand ball, ect. Prepare small meals. Attend IEP meetings and a laison with doctors, therapist, teacher and personal aide. The second client is an adult I support her through communicating with staff at Homecare facility in which she lives. I'm involved with her Health and Financial affairs. I attend IEP meetings and shop and purchase personal items and clothes. I take client out for social events. These two clients are so different and what I learned no matter the disablity the clients needs someone to be patient, kind, and understanding of his/her disablitiy. The work culture allows freedom to do my job in a timely manner. Each job has it's differences, yet each day brings a solution to issue that needs addressing. The most enjoyable part is seeing a smile on the clients face as I motivate and show patients when they are discourge.

Working as a Talent Acquisition coordinator is rewarding as it allows me to find the right caregivers to be matched up with the right client. They are all hands on deck. Always present to help through thick and thin, which is something that I never experienced at some of the other companies I have worked for and therefore it is truly inspiring to see them work with all departments throughout the day to help drive us all to success by the end of each day.

I typically worked 12 hour night shift 8pm-8am. As soon as I arrived I would get the client ready for bed, talk with the client about their day, check clients blood sugar and double check that the client was taking the correct dosage of insulin, make sure to check if the client has soiled themselves, if so, I would clean them up before bed. After client is clean and comfortable they go right to bed. I stay up all night checking on the patient every 30 minutes to one hour. I did lift house keeping as the client is asleep, get coffee ready for the morning and lay clothes out for the on coming shift. Before I end my shift I always give the on coming caregiver a report of the night, as well as any changes in the client. I also help the caregiver change the client if soiled, as well as help change linens. Then I document and leave. 
The hardest part was the uncertainty of how ,any hours I would be given. I enjoyed helping y clients and making sure that I was able to satisfy any of their needs, as well as making sure that my client was comfortable.

I’ve worked for Cambrian for 2 years now and it definitely has its pros and cons.  
Pros -flexible work schedule. Staff/coordinators can be helpful when needed, had some good scheduling relationships with coordinators. You’ll find yourself having good relationships with some of the clients. One of the reasons why I stayed with Cambrian for so long is because of the strong connections I have with clients , to the point where they feel like family. 
Cons - handful of times of miscommunication with Cambrian, client or family, and caregiver.  Handful of mistakes with payroll, I started to keep track of days and hours just to make sure I was getting paid the right amount. Hard to get direct support on any questions or complaints 
Which is why I gave this place 3 stars. I was a new mother that took some time off working and when I did finally get back into it I was worried of not being able to be there for my kid. But this company was VERY flexible with the hours I could  and could not work. I would have gave it 4 stars if it wasn’t for the payroll mistakes. But overall not a bad company to work for.
