Work-life balance
It was difficult for me to take time for surgery and any vacation time that I accrued. I booked a vacation and lost some of that money because it was originally approved and then I was told it was ultimately not.

Pay & benefits
I was promised $16 an hour after my probationary period of 6 months and the executive director went back on his word. Even after I scheduled a review myself.

Job security and advancement
If you would like to obtain certifications or extra training you are on your own in figuring out how to make that happen.

Management
Management has favoritism issues and is inconsistent with what is said and what is actually done. I went to HR several times concerning this and they sided with management instead of giving me the support I needed.

Culture
I was working very hard barely sitting down. The residents often asked me if I ever get a brake or sit down. For how hard working I was, it didn’t make a difference. I wasn’t a favorite and I found out my promised pay increase would not happen. What incentive is there then to continue to be hard working?

Overall
I hope that I can save others from the frustrations and stress that I went through in Whitewater. I loved what I was doing and will miss the residents, but had to leave after only a few months. The environment is toxic.

Capri is not a good company to work for. At my initial interview, I was told of the many opportunities open to me, none of which were true. As I began working assisting the elderly tenants, I heard what only I can describe as horror stories. I did my best but the need was overwhelming. The biggest concern was tenants being left alone for days at a time even though they requested assistance. The other concern voiced was the quality of the food. Although it provided sufficient nutrition, it was many time cold and unappetizing. The next item was cost. Residents often complained about the high cost of living at Capri vs the little benefit received. All in all, I do not recommend Capri as a good place to work.

Here at Capri communities we’re more on a family side we know our residents and staff members we always hold very good conversations and theirs always a fun event to attend. The management team makes it worth the while when employed here they are very knowledgeable about your personal matters and even offer a listening ear with confidentiality. There always a person to go and communicate with weather its a question about work or a question about your personal matters. The most enjoyable part of the job is having the small events and seeing the residents face light up like Christmas lights , A typical work day here is nether the less it’s always an experience rather we’re having morning coffee clutch or delivering room trays to apartments or even having small talk in the hallway with many different residents. 

Working here has been a frustrating experience mainly because of the management. Expectations are often unclear, decisions feel inconsistent, and there’s very little communication or support from leadership. Feedback is either rare or unhelpful, which makes it hard to know whether you’re meeting standards.
While some coworkers are great and the work itself can be interesting, the lack of organization and accountability at the management level creates a stressful environment. Opportunities for growth or advancement also feel limited because favoritism and poor planning often override performance.
I wouldn’t recommend this job to someone looking for stability, professional development, or strong leadership. It might work as a short-term position, but not as a long-term career move.

The residents are literally the BEST factor in being apart of Capri’s facilities. Of course there are staff members who make the place unforgettable but the residents are amazing. 

Management (at least where it worked) was very cliquish and spoke very negative about the staff and some residents all the while enjoying alcohol occasionally. Management shows their favoritism towards those who look like them and intentionally overlook others. The word “diversity” is only shown on their care team but not in management.

Compensation is terrible for those who don’t know how to negotiate. Capri is best known for low wages for hourly staff members. Work/life balance is nonexistent -they’re understaffed and it shows. 

I have absolutely loved working for Capri Senior Communities. I found my home at Capri 2+ years ago. I have found that Capri lives up to their mission and values and goes the extra mile to enrich the lives of their residents. I believe that my role is critical at Capri in helping provide the best care possible to all of our residents.

I have enjoyed working with my team to achieve common goals. Our CEO and owner is on a first name bases with all of our Home Office staff. He treats us all like his family. I believe that the mission of Capri is lived every day by all our employees. 

Very professional and experienced. Support from team with 10+ years in the company. Realistic goals for growth. Culture and quality are valued. 

The need and demand for quality employees in Assisted Living is continuing to grow. We have a solid core group and need more dedicated and caring employees to add to the team as we grow to avoid burnout of the staff that goes above and beyond for our residents.

My job is sales, marketing, and admissions. The facility is beautiful but it’s the care, the food, and activities that matters most.

We’re growing fast and need more people.


I originally started with Capri at the Waukesha Community while in High School. I knew I wanted to go into the nursing field. I gained great experience and was able to train under senior staff who helped me improve my skillset. I was able to transfer to the Cottage Grove Community while completing my BSN at UW and work part-time every other weekend. Capri invests in their employees and offers competitive wages. All the leadership staff listens to my ideas and works well as a team.

Sometimes, they are short staffed, but I think that's common at a lot of places these days.
