After years of working in traditional healthcare settings, I can honestly say I wish I had found employer-sponsored healthcare much sooner.

One of the biggest differences is the pace. We typically see about two patients per hour. I never realized how much that would change my stress level and improve my mental health. Being able to give patients the time and attention they deserve, without feeling rushed every minute of the day, has made an incredible difference.

It's also refreshing to support a physician who has the time to focus on patient care instead of being expected to move through an overwhelming number of appointments every day. The entire atmosphere is calmer, more collaborative, and centered on quality rather than volume.

Because we provide employer-sponsored healthcare, we don't bill Medicare or Medicaid. That allows our team to focus more on caring for patients and less on navigating those billing requirements. If you know you know!

Another thing I love is the variety in my role. I get to work both the front office and the back office. Having that balance keeps my day interesting, helps the time pass quickly, and gives me a chance to step away from being on my feet all day.

The patients are genuinely happy to see us. They know they won't receive a surprise medical bill in the mail, and they know they're treated as individuals rather than just another appointment on the schedule. That creates a completely different experience for everyone in the clinic.

The biggest difference, though, is the culture. Working alongside providers who enjoy what they do and caring for patients who are appreciative and less stressed has been truly life-changing. I didn't realize how much the right work environment could improve not only my job satisfaction but also my overall well-being.

I started this job with a positive attitude even though I had not worked in a family practice or work provided health before. You would think that respect, trust, and professionalism would be important for a medical assistant provider relationship but this place lacked all three. I was constantly ridiculed for the things I didn’t know how to do even though I was honest that my prior experience was in orthopedics. I was humiliated daily by my clinic manager in front of co-works for thing that were beyond my control. I was never given any understanding or COMPASSION for the chronic illnesses that I suffer from. The treatment that I received from the clinic that I worked at made all of these illnesses worse and I ended up having to leave and 2 months later I still have not recovered from them. I was even told that I lack professionalism by the clinic manager in front of co-workers and providers, and those words were yelled at me so that it was very clear to everyone in the entire office that I deserved no respected. And this is just the tip of the iceberg on how I was treated. I would not recommend this company unless some major changes are put into place. The money and health care is definitely not worth the way you will be treated by management, providers, co-works, or the lack of training that you will get. But if you injoy being raked through the coals go for it.

Working here as a medical assistant has been an incredibly positive experience. I truly feel valued and supported by the doctor and staff I work with. The providers take the time to teach and help me continue improving my skills, which has made me a more confident and capable medical assistant.
The work schedule is also a great fit for my life. Since we don’t work nights, weekends, or holidays, it allows me to balance family time and attend night school as I work toward becoming a nurse. That flexibility means a lot to me and my future goals.
Another thing that makes this clinic stand out is the focus on quality patient care rather than rushing through high volumes of patients. Our patient load is very reasonable, which allows us to spend more time with each person and make sure they receive the best care possible. I don’t feel overworked or burned out here, just supported, appreciated, and proud of the work we do.
This is truly a different kind of medical environment, higher-level, patient-focused, and committed to helping both staff and patients thrive.

Working as a Medical Assistant in an employer-sponsored clinic has been a refreshing and rewarding experience compared to working in a hospital. The clinic setting allows for more meaningful interactions with patients because there is often more time to focus on preventive care, wellness, and building long-term relationships. The work environment is typically less hectic, making it easier to provide high-quality, personalized care while maintaining a healthy work-life balance. We normally see about 2 patients per hour. 

The teamwork among providers and staff is outstanding, and everyone shares the common goal of keeping employees healthy and productive. I also appreciate the consistent schedule, supportive leadership, and opportunities to educate patients on improving their overall health.No Medicade or Medicare billing. Working at CareATC has been such a breath of fresh air! I absolutely love that I received full benefits within 30 days of my start date, no need to pay COBRA or go without coverage. The patient load here is about 10% of what I experienced in urgent care, which means I actually have time to get to know my patients and perfect my skills without being rushed. It’s also the only clinic in my area that doesn’t take walk-ins, so I always know what my day will look like. a typical day at this job included drawing blood all over the country at one of the wellness clinics or at one the companies we provided service for or in the corprate office going over patient information and making sure all the data and labs were typed and spelled correctly because one number or one letter could mean the world and this was a wellness program so health was number one priority. I learned so much when i worked for careatc for instance careatc stands for care Around The Clock! So we took pride in our work to make sure there were no mistakes in our paper work and with the phlebotomy skills.  The hardest part was staying away from family too long or getting up really early to draw people or in office checking for clerical errors. The most enjoyable was being able to walk into work every morning and say good morning to everyone have a cup of coffee and gets started for the day.

I have worked for CareATC for over 3 years now.  And the growth and change we've experienced has been phenomenal.  Our CEO has an excellent vision of breaking the barriers to main street health care and employer health benefits services.  

Our providers get to focus on preventive health care, get to stop and spend time with the patients- holistically.  They're not punished/rewarded with referrals and seeing as many patients as possible in a day. 

The corporate culture is one that is driven by their core values, which makes this company a fantastic place to work for people who want to surround themselves with "A Players".  

The hardest part of the job has been: this company was around for 13 years before our CEO came on board.  He's taken us to new levels, challenging and stretching us to be the best in our space.  Which has been very rewarding to me professionally- I appreciate the hard work!!

Working at CareATC has been such a great experience. It’s a Direct Primary Care clinic, so there’s no Medicare/Medicaid billing, and no walk-ins, which really keeps the day smooth. We usually see around 10–12 patients a day, so you actually get time to connect with people instead of feeling rushed. Benefits kick in the first of the month after you start, and you get free same-day telehealth on day one, which is a nice perk. The culture is positive and supportive, and everyone truly works as a team. It’s a great place for MAs who want balance, respect, and a calm, patient-focused environment. Working here is nothing like working at the hospital! They also have way more benefits than the hospital offered. You are also working with a team that is very customer and team focused and much more courteous and professional than the hospital. A much higher caliber team becuase no one is over worked. When interviewed, I was promised many things that never came to fruition, including having a permanent doctor at our clinic. The IV room was converted to triage, and I did a total of one IV over the 9 months I worked there. The training is inadequate, we had no on-site manager, and I was eventually left without any MAs, and was tasked to run the clinic by myself. I was answering phones, taking walk ins, checking in patients, rooming, drawing blood, administering vaccines in a very busy clinic. Five days a week. When I asked management for help, they simply put some blocks on the nurse schedule as a solution!! And the icing on the cake is that after keeping the place operating properly and getting completely burned out, I was not paid out my PTO that I worked SO hard for! I spoke to the head of people services for the company and explained my situation and they still DID NOT PAY OUT 51 HOURS OF PTO! 

I would go back to CareATC just for the providers. But for no other reason. Some but not all staff is lazy, nasty acting, and do not do their jobs. Those are the people that make the environment hard to work in. This company plays favorites, will write you up for situations that never happened, and never listens to what you have to say. Since I have left, they have enforced policies such as: no hour long appointments, which helped providers and staff work the schedule appropriately. 2. A 15 minute late policy. So, how do you complete an appt in 15 minutes? Beats me. Every bad review a patient has written has been absolutely correct. Truly unintelligent corporation, complete gossipers of staff, and bad vibes. Please, for the love of, never work here. (Kudos to the providers for staying there and taking beautiful care of their patients).
