This is all from my own personal experience, the first few months were decently ok. After about 4 months or so of working there , I and other staff were being severely overworked. Some of my co-workers weren't paid their full overtime, sometimes up to 30 hours of unpaid overtime in a single pay period. Any mention to the management saw them do nothing to assist with the discrepancy in pay. Management does not take the concerns of staff seriously and sometimes outright ignors major problems within the facility. Favoritism is rampant with management heavily favoring some staff over others. The older staff treat new staff they don't like badly, dumping most of the work on new staff in hopes they'll leave. The pay was not worth the amount of work and hours put in, as the facility did not have easy access to assistance devices, making all transfers time-consuming and labor intensive. Raises at the facility were almost non existent, making only $15.50 an hour while new hires were getting paid $16.00 an hour, after asking the managers for a raise they brushed it off and I never received one for the remaining time I was there. The only redeeming quality, in my opinion, was getting to work with the residents and participating in daily activities.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Employees have the choice to get as little hours or more hours to work whenever possible.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Some of policies in place make the working environment difficult, especially when an incident happens with a resident who resides at the facility. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The work environment is constantly busy and requires much attention to residents and their needs. Shared values and practices are not always easy to pin point. Each situation requires its own evaluation and consideration for the best course of action. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
There are three different shifts for caregivers. Each one has different tasks and job duties due to the time of day. Mostly a typical day is assistance with changing clothes, undergarments, helping residents to from different areas of the building. There can a need for transferring in and out of wheelchair or regular seating in all areas. Assistance with various activities as well as meal times.

While I cared about the people at San Juan Villa, I found the job to be far too stressful because I found myself caring too much and getting overly stressed. However, if you are more mentally stable and have reliable transportation, it can be a decent place to work. But it wasn't the right fit for me. The management was good and they were very accommodating for me. The hardest part of the job was knowing that the people you are caring for might die while you are caring for them and some personal stories broke my heart. My dad also has dementia so having people who reminded me of him, and his future was hard for me as well. Also dealing with toileting and showers was difficult for me. Some of the people were so kind and grateful for the care being provided that they were receiving that it made some moments the most rewarding that I've ever experienced.

I wish I could say this place was a good place to work. Working with the elderly is such a beautiful thing but unfortunately this company is not a place you want to work. Staff are underpaid and overworked. The higher ups also pick and choose who gets punished for their actions(no call, no show, inappropriate behavior etc.) there are some amazing staff there and they do not get the credit they deserve. It was sad to watch how some amazing people were treated. If you’re not in the “click” with administration then don’t expect to be takin seriously. I don’t even have enough fingers to count how many times there were inappropriate situations going on and management did nothing about it even though it was brought up on numerous occasions. I wish the absolute best for the amazing staff who continue to stay there, I hope one day they can move on to somewhere they are appreciated and valued. Sadly, you’ll know you’re replaceable here, you’ll put so much heart, soul, sweat and time into your job only to be treated like youre a door mat. 

When I worked with School District I had hand on with children.  With BeeHive Assisted Living I work with the Elderly, but to me it was close to the same thing but different. 
 I love being a CNA and all that I have learned with them, understanding the resident more and try to delegating with my co-worker to find the best way to have an individual care plan for the resident. 
 I Mostly enjoyed getting to know the resident, their family's, and all the hard work i do for each one of them.   
The hardest part of my job,  that the team doesnt work together, there short staff so you're always working over then what they have your schedule was and to much drama.
When you work as a CNA is not supposed to be doing medication they have you doing that, laundry, and don't communicate.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Getting to know the Residents .That's really the only good thing 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
That most stressful part was realizing that Management doesn't care about Resident care at all. They do not train correctly and never Know the answer to your question and then blame you when you guess wrong. HIGHLY TOXIC place to work 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Work environment is HIGHLY TOXIC.  MANAGEMENT dose not care about the Residents or the staff and will throw you under the bus just because 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Bad management to very unclean unhealthy environment . Days we weren't even provided with Gloves,  trash bags or briefs for Residents

Best thing about being a care giver here is my co workers and the residents! The pay is a joke! Never get my yearly evaluations on time! Never get raises! Was there 5 years and still at minimum wage! New hires start out Making more than you every time! It’s a slap in the face! Never called in and worked every weekend! The corporate office is a joke! They never get our PTO on our checks and mess up all the time on our hours! Our pay checks are always wrong! They bring long term residents into our assisted living. They get so desperate to fill the rooms  they bring in anyone! They don’t care that our backs hurt from lifting the residents! They just want their monthly rent from the residents! Think hard if you wanna work there!

Hearthside Manor is a memory care community that offers 36 private bedrooms, secure non-challenging environment, licensed nurses on staff, dementia trained caregivers, 3 nutritious meals served daily, snacks available 24 hours, daily activities and entertainers, individualized service plans, community living areas with cozy gas fireplaces, spacious and secure backyard space, circular hallways, unique activity stations, warm homelike atmosphere, jetted spa bathtubs, respite stays available and we have an 18 month spend down policy. We are involved with the Alzheimer's Association and have many caregivers that are nominated for caregiver of the year awards

Formerly a wonderful company prior to Caring Places Management taking over. Money was spent to ensure proper staffing to care for residents, pay and benefit packages were fair. 

After CP took over, massive cuts were made, affecting not only staff but the quality of life the senior residents had, all while upping their rent. 

Management incredibly poor. Training poor. Unethical group as CP is a management company and their goal was to save money (decrease staff and increase rent to senior residents).  

Staff left working were grossly overworked and quality of care greatly reduced. 

You're expected to sell your soul to work every shift that ever needs coverage. You are mandated to say something if you suspect abuse or neglect just to be told by management that you are complaining about your coworker. Caregiving for 30 + residents with 2 caregivers on the floor who are also serving food, bussing tables, doing food trays and being dishwashers. You will not get a break. Which to me was totally fine because it meant that the residents are being taken care of. BUT management never comes out of the office unless it's to stuff their faces with leftovers from the kitchen. Do yourself a favor and work for a more caring company. I feel so bad for the families that have a family member here.
