As a manager I was never supported by the executives. Everyone prioritizes their own agenda. Lack of support then your looked at when things go wrong and expect you to take full blame when you seeked the proper support. Too many chiefs not enough indians. Lets talk about pay it is non competative as well as benefits. They pay medical assistants very low wages for lots of work. Too many individuals in positions of power that delegate work to individuals in lower positions because they dont want to pull their own weight. Very stressful toxic environment. High turn over they have new staff almost every 3-6 months so you find yourself working w new people constantly its hard to adapt to consistency here since there isnt any. Multiple changes at the executive level, no progression, no development the company is behind the ball game compared to other FQHCs'. Executives are non- approachable and can never count on clear direction. 

Working at Central City Community Health Center was a meaningful experience, particularly in terms of serving a diverse and underserved patient population. The patients themselves were the most rewarding part of the role, and I appreciated the organization’s mission and commitment to community health.

That said, the work environment can be very fast-paced, and success in this role requires strong adaptability and resilience. Support, training, and management style may vary by department, so clear communication and self-advocacy are important. This position may be a good fit for individuals who are comfortable in high-demand settings and motivated by mission-driven care.

Central City Community Health Center is a great place to get your feet wet with experience, but then you leave real soon after that. The company is very unorganized and no one takes responsibility for their mistakes. You will need to bug people constantly in order to get the information you need to do your job. There is no formal orientation or job training. Management is very lazy and this trickles down to the employees. Please be wary before joining this company and do as much research as you can on the company and its CEO before you start.

I loved working at Central City South LA! Everyone is treated like family there. Yes the environment can be extremely fast paced at times, but it can mold you to a better and efficient person if you let it. We had constant meetings which kept us all updated on any changes. The doctors are amazing and will go out of their way to meet the patients needs. Upon hire, I also received a week of training, which gave me the confidence to start at the office. The management is extremely helpful and understanding. They do their best to run such a busy office, and posses excellent leadership skills.

All coworkers are super nice in corporate. Alot of favoritism leads have. Lead tries to support staff but lacks training and always tries to work closer to home instead of being physically there. Clinic leads are more supportive instead of staff in corporate. Will be traveling 80% of time not 33%. Will make you work in different departments too. Manager tries to be supportive but doesn’t show it and will always delay getting back to you.

Paid holiday and maybe a few people but not a good moral to work there 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
You are expendable and you are always on pins and needles because you may get let go for a made up reason. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Very negative and pessimistic.

At first they make you feel like you are part of a team/family. Management only favorite’s employees that kiss there ***. You will only be accepted in there group if you worship them.you will only move up if you worship you boss. And even then they do not appreciate what you do. You will work hard and they want more for a less pay rate.

n	Front Desk Receptionist: Answer and direct phone calls to various departments, schedule guest visits, and prepare documents for county and state audit surveys. 
n	Enrollment Specialist: Enroll new patients into CBAS/ADHC program, assist patients with insurance enrollment issues, and communicate with various hospitals and clinics for patient information.

If you can avoid working here then do so. Managers are so often caught up in their power trip that it makes it impossible to work. Plus most of the staff are between managers immediate family/close families and friend so you can imagine the favoritism that goes on. Upper management is dysfunctional and they don’t care about patients let alone their employees.

okay as intro job for experience to healthcare but only to be used as a stepping stone to get you to the next job do not get comfortable you are not valued or have any say in your job needs. Only if you work in corporate you are valued for your opinion. you cannot think out of the box must just "follow protocol".
