A typical day at work/ I would arrive at the clients house, ask how they slept, if they needed anything, how they were this morning. What they wanted for breakfast, Cooked them breakfast, served it. Cleaned dishes and any from the night after i left and tidied up from anything that happened after i left at 4 the previous day. Now my client was my mother so i normally didn't leave physically at 4, time sheet said 4, but being my mother if she needed me, I was there, I also during the day did laundry, if she had a drs appointment, we went to it, If she needed a shower, i helped her in and out of the shower, she had a shower chair she could sit in, Handed her shampoo, rags, or soap if she needed, i was outside the shower if need be, she had several strokes and no coordination and balance so that was a problem, 
The staff and management, RN's everyone at Central WV Aging Services I would recommend to anyone, I actually have, When I have heard of friends having a time with their loved ones and need a hand I recommend this company. They treated me so kind, They understood what i was going through and worked hard with me to keep my mother home as long as possible and i will forever be grateful for them. They work hard to keep their clients approved for benefits and they show a genuine heart and care for you and your client and their work, 
The hardest part of the job is that the majority of the clients are elderly and are coming to terms with that they are in the season of life that they need help with things that they a few months ago didn't. And that is hard for them to process emotionally, and physically, They may have lost strength and are angry as to why they are going through what they're going through and you as the care giver will more than likely be their sounding board a many times. Its not you, trust me, they just have to vent and get that anger out that they aren't the same and it hurts them. It does take a special person to do this job, Not just anyone can work with the elderly in this type of care and situation. So please, don't go in thinking of a payday. You will only lose your patience and hate your job. If you have compassion, empathy and love the elderly, then this is for you and go make a difference in some elderly persons life, You just might make their day.

I really had nothing bad to say about the company until I was FALSELY ACCUSED of visiting a client when not on payroll. If anyone knows anything about Inhome Care after not working at a company for 6 months your allowed to visit people. I REMIND YOU I DID NOT VISIT ANY CLIENT! I spoke to a past Clients SISTER that's not the CLIENT. Trish was VERY RUDE over the phone and kept insinuating I went and visited a past client. When I explained to her I SEEN and tslked with for said past clients SISTER she was NASTY and replied "she didn't have time for this" you want to know why...Because she knew she was FALSELY ACCUSING ME. Ronda and Bethany are AWESOME in every aspect of their positions held at Central. BEWARE OF NURSES WHO FALSELY ACCUSE YOU OF THINGS YOU DIDN'T DO. I've been doing Inhome Care since 2007...I KNOW THE LAWS! **BEWARE NEW EMPLOYEES!

While I love the clients,  all of them were so sweet or are sweet,  they become like family fast.  Some are harder than others. The pay is not worth it with some clients as they can be harder to take care of and you can be constantly on your feet. An example is I worked in a home 7 hours a day 5 days a week and constantly was on the move for most of the time I was there. I came close to quitting because it isn't worth the pay to feel so drained at the end of the day.  When I could no longer care for that client I was moved to 3 clients and have to drive 50 miles a day,  and have to pay more for gas in 1 week than I make in a 2 week pay period. They need to pay their caregivers more and give raises.  I'm looking for a different job after being with the company for 3 years

Taking care of the elderly and handicapped in their homes. I have learned tolerance and to be very grateful for my health and the health of my family. The most difficult part of this job is getting close to the clients and loosing them to a nursing home or worse death and yet the most enjoyable part of the job is getting close to these wonderful people and knowing that you have made such a huge impact on an individual's every day life.

I have been with this company for almost 5 years and it has been a wonderful experience. They really do care about you and your family, and the benefits are the best in the area. The clients you work for are all amazing, and let you have a very rewarding career. I highly recommend this company to anyone who is interested in becoming a caregiver, or has family needing a company to staff them.

If you love helping people but do not need benefits or a livable wage, this is the job for you.  Despite what they tell you, you're lucky to work full time.  Employees are said to receive yearly raises, but it doesn't always work out that way.  No benefits, no PTO, no opportunity for advancement.  Some of the clients I have encountered are truly amazing human beings!  Those clients are the reason I have lasted as long as I have.

So far its been a great company to work for, very flexible schedule very understanding with family emergencies and are very appreciated towards hard working employees, pay is higher than some of these home care agencies but no chance in advancement, but you do get Sub bonuses and referral bonuses.

I loved the flexible schedule & rewarding work. Developed some lasting relationships with clients. Downsides though…getting attached & clients going into nursing home or passing away. No benefits. I was let go after a knee injury. Even after the doctor cleared me, I got the run around. Ended up finding other work. Overall not horrible to work for but don’t get injured. 

This job pays the bills as long as the management does there job right.
I was told to do one thing, as I proceed to do that one thing I began to get into trouble for it and was told not to. The management is very inconsistent and say they have enough clients to keep us workers at 40 hours a week then we loose hours and it's not worth working if you don't have the hours. They do not offer overtime

If you have a family do not work there.  They do not care about you or your family.  No funeral leave time  if there is a family emergency they don’t care. Supervisor feels he knows it all.  Everybody is below him.  Will not hire overweight care providers.  Feel they will get hurt at work more and not able to give cpr if they had too. Caregivers are not smart enough to stand up for their rights.
