I enjoyed going to work at Chaparral Medical Group every day, I always had a big smile on my face walking in and greeting out patients. my first day there I was started off as a front desk receptionist for about nine months. I assisted patients with their appointments, confirmed their appointments over the phone. I also verified insurance eligibility to make sure all patients had the correct provider whom they were assigned to see under their medical insurance. Then after those nine months of training as a front desk receptionist I was moved to work with multiple physicians in the back office who specialized in internal medicine, family practice and pediatrics. So I pretty much got to experience a bit of everything working in the back office. But for a full year I worked with a physician who specialized in internal medicine. From her I learned so much. I learned how to submit insurance claims, submit referral authorizations for her patients who needed further evaluation, prescription refills, wound care and so much more. The sad part was me having to leave this amazing job due to family emergencies that kept me from going to work. If I was given the opportunity to go back and work for them I would not hesitate to go back.

Ok so I had taken this job only to get my foot inside the door. BIGGEST MISTAKE OF MY LIFE!! At first things were ok, being the new employee there was mixed feelings. Liked by some, and disliked by others. Natural balance right? Well things were good, until the manager started showing her true colors. Not only is she unprofessional by the way she smells. This lady reaked of cigarettes all the time. (She probably still does). She was not only rude to some of the staff, but she did it in front of patients!!! How embarrassing to have worked underneath someone like that. She was only nice to staff when doctors were in.  But anyways, moving on, the PAY was horrible! Underpaid for the amount of work. They give you a yearly review with maybe a .50¢ pay increase (if you're lucky)....you get it about 3 months after your year review. Overtime??? FORGET ABOUT IT! Not allowed. The only positive I experienced  from this company we're  the free meals from sales representative that came in, the knowledge you get from all the work they make you do and working for kind doctors.

A typical day would start off by clocking in at 8AM or before. would take the faxes and separate them. I would then check the voice-mail, and write down the messages or do call backs if needed. The office would open at 8:30. I would greet the patients and take their information. Prepare their chart and verify their insurance. In between patients I would be answering the phone and taking messages. I would sometimes have to call in prescriptions, send out faxes and sort them throughout the day. If needed I would also file the charts away and pull some for the next day. I would also do courtesy calls to let the people who were coming in the next day know that they had an appointment and what time it was and what they needed to bring with them. The best part of the job was being able to help people, and that I was always busy. The worst part of the job is that I couldn't help everyone.

A typical work day was seeing 30-45 patients a day 3-4 surgerys and usally working through lunch.I was the only M.A. for my Dr.so I was always busy sccheduling, charting, preping for surgrys, and all patient wound care . I learned alot from working with various specialists such as Cardiologist , Dermalogist, also Family Practice and Urgent care .I had three diffrent Managers because I traveled to three diffrent offices a week . All my co-workers were amazing and working at diffrent offices every week I had many co - workers . The hardest part of my job was traveling to three diffrent offices a week .The most enjoyable part of my job was my patients I love going over and beyond for them so they can have the care they deserve and they are very gratefull, Thats what makes my job so rewarding.

My day at work would be starting up my computer, checking all patients room to make sure they are all stocked up for the day, make sure nothing was left pending from a day before, make sure to check for any important messages from patients.

I have learned to work with a dermatologist, EMR, wellness program by using a Ankle Brachial Index. 

Management was important to me because they were good people
always have communication with there staff.

I dont remember having a hard part because if i payed attention on something they would show me , i know i could complete it.

The most enjoyable was i have learned so much with the company i feel very grateful, always some to learn.

MY REVIEW ON THIS MEDICAL GROUP WOULD BE THE WORST MEDICAL GROUP I HAVE CAME ACROSS.THIS WAS MY FIRST JOB WHEN I GOT HIRED INTO THE MEDICAL GROUP IT WAS GREAT IN THE BEGINNING BUT AS YEARS PASSED THIS MEDICAL GROUP TURNED OUT TO BE THE MOST UNETHICAL GROUP BY FAR. MANAGEMENT WAS GREAT IN OFFICE HOWEVER HUMAN RESOURCES WAS VERY UNPROFESSIONAL AND UN-ORGANIZED. I WAS MOST PLEASED WITH THE CO-WORKERS I WAS ABLE TO WORK WITH, ID HAVE TO SAY THE HARDEST PART OF MY JOB WAS DECIDING TO STAY WORKING THERE FOR AS LONG AS I DID, AND THE MOST ENJOYABLE PART OF MY JOB WAS COMMUINICATING WITH THE PATIENTS AND BEING ABLE TO HELP OTHERS.

A busy and thriving place to work. Always something to do, rooming patients or charting, the offices could have been cleaner or better maintained, but that was up to the manager. However what was used was maintained. A typical day at CMG was slow to start then all at once, patients would be roomed and before you know it, its lunch time, then time to go home. Staff is great, care providers are excellent. The difficult part of the job was patient wait time. Doctors need to take time for patients, some more than others. Most enjoyable part were the employees, some of the nicest people you will ever know.

Responsible for each & every phone call coming through on a multi-lined phone. Correctly and accurately
reported to Physician each patients request .RX Refill, New RX, Health Concerns & Appointments etc.
I was also in charge of the Medical a Records Dept. For company Audits I'd pull requested charts per
different
Insurance request responsible for keeping all recommended information in Patients Charts as well as being up to date. Responsible for signing Subpoena request and Supplying accurate & exact
information requested
anything prior then 6 months I'd send a request for records to our storage dept.

•	Show patients to examination rooms and prepare them for the physician
•	Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations, keeping the rooms neat and clean
•	Record patients' medical history, vital statistics and information such as test results in medical records
•	Clean and sterilize instruments and dispose of contaminated supplies
•	Prepare and set up x-ray room for patient
•	Make exposures necessary for the requested procedures, rejecting and repeating work that does not meet established standards
•	Schedule patients for various ancillary services as well as nuclear medicine exams.

Everyone that i worked with can aknowledge  the fact that if you are not  a "manager faveorite" you will get treated unfairly here. Job description is explained when you are being trained but later as the days go by turn put to be something totally different than was shown. As  a place where patients are being treated they arent being treated with professionalism or any respect whatsoever, Patients there can agree with that.  If you dont know the laws you can get screwed here easily.
