A typical day consists of doing large group fitness classes with the senior residents and keeping them active throughout the day. I learned what the best marketing tool is best for seniors and how to be creative in finding games for them to play. We go on events such as tropical smoothie, farmers market, and walks at the park. The workplace culture is very friendly and fun. The hardest part of this job is not being able to help assist the seniors when they need to go to the restroom. The most enjoyable part of this job is seeing the seniors grow trust in you and watch them grow stronger every day. Its rewarding to see them want to participate in wellness activities and health seminars.

i loved working with food daily breakfeast and lunch meals served the food in the tray line to our residents daily love seeing their smiling faces every day asking for extra toast or soups for lunch they becamse my grandfathers and grandmothers in a way i worked at church of christ care center for 11 years i spend my entire 20's there i loved everything about my job the people the area the kitchen the hardest part and thing i had to do is lett go and move on leaving it behinde its been hard for me.

Staffing is always a challenge however that is everywhere. Most of the floor staff are nice and easy to get along with. Management faces have changed so much that policies and procedures are a mess and there is a notable lack in communication and consistency.  Supplies are always available.  Great place for new grads to start off as patient acuity is not as high in comparison to other local Rehab facilities.

This employer has unfair management practices. They seem to be stuck in the 60's with regard to fair treatment of employees. If they like you they keep you. If they don't then you're out the door. There is no union and the union is really needed. Management rarely changes over and when it does it's just another person who is liked who gets the job. They provide employees with appreciation dinners but then treat them unfairly.

As a C.N.A. on the night shift it is horrible. We’re always short staffed, and are threatened by management. The scheduler is rude and does not work with you concerning scheduling. Overtime is only given to certain people. The attendance policy only applies to certain people. The staff is nice and helpful on nights but everything else is horrible

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Typical work day. Very low stress. Until you become a target.

Church of Christ used to be a great place to work at but has gone extremely downhill. The VP of clinical operations has caused almost 20 staff members in management to leave. There is also high turnover with nursing and CNA staff.  Day to day operations depend on the current person in the position, and who you ask. If you like things to be orderly, this is not the place for you 

punch in, get a report from previous shift, greet and check on the safety of each patient, pass water, begin with regular job duties (waking them up, helping get dressed for the day, giving showers, help feed, assist to restroom, and update nurse on patient status) at the end of shift chart and report to nurse any outputs.

I woke at  nursing home. My job is to make sure all the residents rooms are clean on my set. I have the same routine everyday I set my cart up at 7am it usually takes about 15mins. I then go on my wing that Im responsible for and I start cleaning I pull the trash, dust, clean the bathroom and mop. I really enjoy my job and the people I work with

As a Certified Nurse Assistant my daily responsibilities included; providing daily living activities for my residents, passing medication in a timely manner,to assure residents receive schedule showers, assist with feeding during meal time, and collected necessary specimen samples
