Working with the PAP department With the pharmacy was a roller coaster of emotions. I really enjoyed helping my patients and applying them drug companies to obtain free brand name medication at no cost. The reward of this was absolutely fulfilling. Depending on what clinic you work at there were different obstacles you’ll have to overcome but once you got accustom to you clinic and peers everything will work out accordingly. Now as for management....My direct supervisor for the PAP department was not equipped for her position and her actions reflected her inability to lead. There were multiple instances of harassment, bullying and hostile work environments being in play but she was continued to be employed there in that position. The turnover in the past 7 months resulted in 5 employees departing (none of us were fired or laid off). She micromanaged us to death, she did not allow for any mistake forgiveness. Once that person made a mistake she will scold you and remind you of it no matter how trivial the matter was. She also was very vindictive and will retaliate against you if you did not agree with her. Also there would be unnecessary escalations with her. Such something as simple as a conversation would be turned into argument because she did not like the fact you would ask follow up questions or not agree with something she said. Due to legal reasons I cannot go into significant details of the hardship we were all facing but I can tell you to document all conversations (emails, phone calls, instant messaging and etc..) , don’t allow conversations without a witness and do not allow multiple instances pass without speaking up. I have never experienced anything like this at any job I’ve ever worked and I don’t plan on going through this emotional trauma again in the work place.


Cons
Always short staffed, quantity over quality type of patient care, poor management, petty management, management is inexperienced, bully-like work environment, favoritism and nepotism in the clinics is extremely prevalent, low wages, jaded workers with seniority, No opportunities for growth despite corporate like environment that misleads those values and offerings.
Advice to Management
Upper management and supervisor roles regardless of seniority need to take an updated orientation, training and epic training. As a newer employee I’ve recognized managers and supervisors have no real knowledge on how to use the very own systems that they're employees and departments have to work directly with, lower end workers are often stuck doing the work of higher salaries employees with little to no regard.

I loved working at CommUnityCare as I’m passionate about healthcare and giving back. Unfortunately leadership and management is an ongoing problem. I went through 7 supervisor changes during my tenure each being worse than the prior. Opportunities for advancement are non existent, raises are dismal (3 percent is if you walk on water) remote options are based on favoritism and the strict dress code is outdated. Leadership do try but once you have a problem with a supervisor no someone cares. Pay is good if you’re at the top. the team members are great and the best part! 

I would like to star saying I loved that job I work there for 6yrs I am so thank full for who ever teach me everything I know. But management and payrate would only be the problem when you ask off even if you ask ahead of time you are worried is not going to be approved. manager expect you to find the coverage like come on is not 1960 its the job of the manager to figure that out that's why you are the manager bc you are suppose to know what to do. payrate well you will find your self doing more then your job description they do offer raises but is not a big deal and they will  let you know you dont qualify for one because you already making to much. Promotions or moving positions you have to apply for it and they interview you they don't just knowledge you and give you one.

The overall environment can make employees feel undervalued and unsupported, leading to low morale and high attrition. The manager Dennia Kymes exhibits manipulative and controlling behavior, often influencing supervisors in a way that creates an unhealthy work environment. The quality assurance metrics are unrealistic and difficult to meet, and positive performance is never acknowledged. When seeking support or clarification from supervisors and manager, responses will be discouraging rather than constructive. Work here if you do not care about your mental health.

Management is a joke. Everyone talks about everyone. Front desk is constantly talking mess about the homeless leaving a “smell” in the lobby. Management makes up lies to get rid of you after hiring you. If you don’t speak Spanish you’re already hated. They put all the work on the new hires and blame them for “being slow”. You ask questions and they get mad because “you should know this”. The only good thing about this was the pay and benefits other than that the clinic and staff are rude and messy. They clam in to be big on mental health but tell you to “get over it” when you need the help.

I found that management is not aware (because they are so busy running the company) that the next level of managers under them are not supervised to account for their own work. My manager was very controlling and was never accountable for their own work but had plenty of time to critique mine and I had a lot of job responsibilities compared to theirs. The physicians are the best people I've ever worked with but are not appreciated for all they do.

They will work you and not give your the support you need, they will  place any nurse as a manager or supervisor who doesn’t have any clue of how to manage a clinic, they will tell you all you want to hear but at the end if they need to get rid of you they will make up information to make you look bad and in-responsible , with out even investigating your case , HR is no better . They will just  replaced you  . So it’s more a pick and choose if they don’t t like you , then you’re out of luck.

Management kept recurring meetings to a bare minimum.

Ticket support is always stressful but management was very reasonable

Easy going and understandable.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Busy days with realistic management

A typical day at work was spending 95% of my time on the computer or processing paperwork and 5% of my time with patients giving injections.  Management was supportive and helpful. The atmosphere was one of cooperation. The hardest part of my job was the unending paperwork and sitting at my desk for long periods. The best part about the job was that I made new friends and was treated well and had room to advance in my role.
