Community Care Physicians

CCP at Niskayuna Internal Medicine is a very difficult place to work under its current egotistical manager. Education and work ethic does not count for anything. You are either a highly favored friend or a target for bullying by management which impacts your time off. 

Office supplies are locked away by the manager who has the only key, computers are constantly crashing which decreases productivity and impacts patient's care. Training and orientation was 1 week long but it was all a waste of time because you will be criticized for doing your job the right way due to making everyone else look bad according to the manager.

HIPPA rules are violated everyday by older staff but management uses age as an excuse for their behavior instead of fixing the problem. This environment encourages sexism, racism and ageism by coworkers and patients. You are expected to just shut up and adjust but the manager is quick to place the blame on people who she doesn't like personally to cover herself and her friends.

There is no cell service at this location. Any emergency or personal calls must come through the work phones. There is no privacy for staff or patients. 

The job itself is fulfilling and easy but being in a stressful environment where people seem to be stuck in the past so they get away with wrongful behavior towards each other and their patients in 2019 is disgusting in health care. Community Care Physicians needs to implement new management who is willing to move the company forward and make use of resources and technology.

High stress, dead end, hard on the body and mind. 
36 doctors consisting of 15 attending and 21 resident doctors. 1000s of pages of records coming in every day, each page has to be handled and processed. Incoming calls vary day to day, but call center can average 400+ calls daily.  Staff is spread thin, chronic understaffing and empty seats in practically every department. In first 12 months, 16 staff members out the door, mostly nursing.   
Stuck it out because the pay is decent and there are worse jobs.  Boring, repetitive work, lots to handle from doctor requests. Hard on the body and being away from desk/phone is discouraged.  No breaks other than 30 min lunch. 
Definite job security and always work to keep you busy.

Overall CCP has been good to me, however I come from large corporate environments and have been used to structure and uniformed management. This can be found at CCP, however not in my department and a select few others. 

I have learn a lot from this company and will always be grateful for this knowledge and experience in the medical industry. 

There are a few individuals that i work with that are brilliant and always go above and beyond in their duties and I thoroughly enoy and take pride working with them

There are many aspects of my position that is hard, but through the years the hardest thing is a simple thing and that is getting used to and familiar with policies that apply to some but not others. 

The most enjoyable part of my job is working with the end users, resolving their issues in a timely manner, teaching them to better utilize their technology to make their work easier/ more efficient.

I typically worked from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. two days a week.  But, I was called upon to work additional days on an ongoing basis, up to four days per week during heavy workloads. 

I learned a great deal about the medical transcription business, especially radiology and clinical (Urgent Visit, etc.).

I worked with a great hard-working bunch of people, both management and non management. They were all helpful and knowledgeable and never hesitated to share that knowledge. 

I would say the hardest part of the job was the various accents of the doctors, but once you had them you had them.  I thoroughly enjoyed the heavy workload and the ability to work from home.  I am not one to sit still and I enjoyed being challenged to "get the job done".

I have never worked in such a supportive, kind and caring place. I was welcomed in with an open heart and rapidly became a strong productive member of the team. I went through a divorce and death of a parent and had the support of the entire office. The working conditions were stressful at times, but I always found someone willing to help. I needed more hours and i was given additional opportunities to fill in where I could be of service. The benefits were acceptable and time off was never an issue. Don't pass up an opportunity to work with a great group of men and women. I was honored to be a part of community care.

Poor communication and bizarre atmosphere.  I worked at two locations, co workers were nice and easy to work with.  I enjoyed the time spent there and the work I was doing, until I was discharged unexpectedly with no previous discipline and given an ambiguous reason for discharge.   The atmosphere felt odd from the beginning and I got the feeling that you are just a body filling a space.  Not even sure if the hiring manager read my resume based on my in person interview because when I referenced previous employment, they had to look back at my resume to find it.  Just a bad experience with poor communication and shady business practices.

Upon hiring they were aware of medical issues and personal family dynamics. They claimed to be understanding since they were a healthcare company. Was told it would never be an issue. When covid hit and impacted my family heavily, and I had to begin missing time it was suddenly a huge issue. Started getting written up. Called out of work due to being snowed in and the plow hadn't come down my road (I live in a small town) I came in the next day to another write up. The only thing I learned they cared about was money. No care for your health or wellbeing. My manager even said my high risk pregnancy was an inconvenience to the company. So I quit. I'll never reccomend them to anyone ever again.

I loved my awesome patients and I loved most of my co-workers. management was HORRIBLE. I was there almost a year and could not wait to leave. Management made your life miserable and did not care about you what-so-ever. Was never informed of "late nights" but was thrown into them after a couple weeks of being there. They pick their favorites and everyone else are peasants to them. Most enjoyable part was the end of my shift. We were treated like dirt by a lot of patients and it was allowed. Doctors were also TERRIBLE to us, very degrading. My reception co-workers were great though, I really enjoyed seeing them everyday.

I started out very excited about this job. I have been a provider for dozens of years and this practice seemed like a great place to end up. However, lots of turnover. It is apparent why - the employees are not listened to by management, management is unprofessional and harsh, despite work and care provided no compensation..I could go on. With so much turnover, the providers who stay are expected to take on the work left behind. The management does not listen to employees or seem to care for them or their concerns.

Started as a great place to work - nominated several times for one of the Capital Regions Best Places to Work.  However, as healthcare reform and the Affordable Care Act came into play, it became increasingly stressful and in my opinion, counter productive.  A lot of undue stress and lack of communication.  Survived several layoffs and watched as things deteriorated.  The few in charge didn't seem to care for their employees anymore.
