The people that work here create a unique culture.  The staff is small enough that you get to learn everyone by name and they know yours.  This small environment and employee involvement allow the organization to move incredibly quickly.  

If you've worked in a large healthcare environment you've probably experienced the lack of adaptability that they have.  This hospital is the opposite of that, employees are listened to and valued in such a way that restored my belief that healthcare can be a community not a corporation.  I was enthralled to see my leader know the name of everyone they introduced me to.  

I'd recommend coming to work here if you're:

1) a team player, and looking to help out in anyway you can. 
2) empathetic - not just to your patients but to your peers
3) open to recognition - there is no shortage of it here

I'd not recommend coming to work here if you're:

1) Not able to function outside your own defined role.  You'll find here that there is always a spot for you to help.  Someone who can't self direct themselves to find out what needs to be done will not succeed here.
2) Solely focused on you.  The culture of this hospital does not support self-centered behavior.  It is truly based on community care and being selfless is the name of the game.

After just a few weeks of degradation by the person training me and a small group that includes the director, I was already looking at leaving this place. I’ve worked in areas of nursing with HUGE personalities but have never had a problem getting along with coworkers. This place has a terrible environment that is encouraged by admin.  It’s also inefficient. I would be there for 8 hours and only do 1.5 hours of work. In my long month and a half there, I saw one new hire (transfer) leave due to the way she was treated and know of at least 3 others trying to leave.  Do not cost yourself time or misery.  Director sells the place as a great environment, not true at all.  Many of the staff members are awesome!  This is a culture problem there. They have a toxic culture and training is terrible but mostly consists of degrading comments, forced violation of safety policies, and attempts at intimidation.

Worked for this company for well over 10 years there was no loyalty or common courtesy. I personally loved what I did and I was very good at my job, however when someone new and prettier came in they could run the show, even with zero experience, coming to me for everything. I was picked on and bullied constantly and no one would help, not management or HR. I did my very best and worked so hard to prove myself and feel like I failed in every way because I was treated so poorly. The management in this company isn't for the employees, it's about money and appearance. Most of the surgeons are amazing, which if you want to have surgery that's what you need. Care is great, being an employee was terrible.

After working here for two years, I regret wasting my time. I don't recommend this company to ANYONE....... There's no help from the doctor's nor the manager's at all. Management never investigates, just kept letting everyone pick on me. The only thing I enjoyed was the patients. It was like like being in high school all over again. I was picked on for two years even by management while working for this horrible environment. Compensation is under marker, And when it comes to leave and paid time off, the company doesn't adhere to their published policies and instead grant leave subjectively on a case by case basis. Highly unprofessional leadership, managers are constantly on vacation and unavailable. And if you are not friends with the office manager you don't have a chance at all.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Workload, flexibility in scheduling, opportunities for overtime and bonuses, coworkers helpful and kind.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The possibility of being floated to other sister facilities mostly because of lack of orientation to Those facilities.  The staff are usually very helpful at the other facilities so it really isn’t that bad.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Where I work, it’s great.  Everyone is friendly and helpful and works as a team

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Caring for post surgical patients with assignments usually not more than 1:4 with a tech.

I worked in the Surgical Department as an RN for 6 years, and I never worked in a more hostile and critical environment.  Nepotism was rampant, and if you weren't related to or lifelong friends with someone in management, you didn't have a chance. They were constantly terminating people for absolutely no reason. Oh don't get me wrong, there were always "reasons". Sometimes they would terminate someone just to make room for one of their friends. The pay and benefits were good. And I did learn a lot while I worked there, like the world can be a mean place, you can't trust everyone, and sometimes it's worth it to make less money to work in a better environment.

What is the best part of working at the company?
My last day was my best day at this hospital. Northwest surgical had THE worst manager I have ever worked under. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The manager was horrible. The favoritism and sabotage was off the charts. I would work at 7-11 before I step foot on that place

Not enough words to describe how awful it was

Miserable, miserable, miserable

I have worked at Community Hospital for 12 years and love the teamwork, small hospital feel in the OKC metro and the great benefits, as well as the people I work with each day.  The culture is great with friendly team members who live by our CARES values while caring for our patients and working with each other.  Our excellent patient satisfaction scores and 5-star quality rating are a reflection of the amazing team members and providers who make up our hospital family. I would highly recommend Community Hospital and Northwest Surgical Hospital as a great place to work!

Community Hospital has been a great place to work! It is by far the best place I have worked. It is a fast pace environment, with great management! The people I work with are amazing, you dont feel as if you are stupid or something for asking a question. They are very inviting and welcome questions. If you have a problem they are always willing to listen and help you through it. 
The environment might be fast, but the people you work with make it very enjoyable! I speak from the South Campus, but I have heard great things about the NWSH and the North Campus!
