Positive attitudes across the board. Everybody is helpful and kind for the most part. 

The issues I had stemmed from not being trained enough. Training consists of one hour how-to sessions and materials that often leave out key details. Topics weren’t thoroughly trained with hands-on/practical application ie: when training on ordering necessary supplies you don’t actually have someone do it with you, they just do it once, you watch, and then the materials they send you don’t give you all the necessary information. Important software/applications often aren’t set up correctly and I had to figure this out myself, despite being unfamiliar with the software/application to begin with. I was thrown into bad situations and essentially had to tread water until I drowned. I could’ve asked for help more, but half the time my equipment didn’t work correctly - my laptop is being serviced as I write this and I’m unable to do my job. 

Time-sensitive tasks would arise on a daily basis and sometimes took the majority of the day, but the weekly/monthly expectations would go unchanged. When roles were not filled the expectations expanded to multiple positions being put on one person. They have vacancy management plans in place to account for this, but when I arrived these were not being used at all in my specific group of the department despite having two major vacancies. When they were used it just piled extra work onto other overworked salaried employees and many things were not completed.

Despite all of this, the management team is incredibly understanding and sees the merit of your work/effort. If you go in, do your best every day, and don’t mind working upwards of 60 hours per week while consistently feeling like you’re behind, you will do very well.

If you’re looking to be an hourly worker, you could probably have a solid career here. If you are looking for a salaried position, be prepared for an uphill battle to gain work-life balance. You will be mandated to work shifts on the weekends - or to find coverage - if you work in any salaried position that offers 24/7 care. 

Community Services offers a lot of job security because you work with people and that can't go away.  However, there are a lot of employees, especially Site Managers who don't work that hard and just complain that they should make more money.  If you work in habilitation the managers are totally different and supportive - they are really in it for the people. The company pays direct care a lot and gives them a lot of bonuses, time off and benefits but managers rarely say thank you to their teams.  I think the company is really a great place and they appreciate their staff, it is the individual managers who sometimes put themselves first and that makes people think the company is the problem, when it is not.  Overall the higher management and support staff like QA, HR and maintenance are really helpful and communicate with you when you ask them a question but sometimes communication to your manager is what is not happening.

Working at Community Services for Every1 has had its ups and downs. On the positive side, the work-life balance is one of the best I’ve experienced. The flexibility and understanding when it comes to personal time and scheduling are greatly appreciated, and it makes it easier to show up each day with a healthy mindset.

However, one of the biggest challenges has been the work environment—specifically, ongoing issues with a certain coworker displaying poor and immature behavior. This behavior has led to a concern of physical safety for myself and is negatively impacting our clients when individual tries to discuss personal issues with other staff to clients. Unfortunately, instead of being addressed, these behaviors are often overlooked, especially when the individuals involved hold seniority or are close with management. This lack of accountability has created a culture where professionalism can be undermined, and it has negatively impacted team morale.

There is a lot of potential in this organization, and I truly believe in the mission. I just hope to see more fairness, consistency, and leadership when it comes to handling internal issues moving forward.


This company is a great place to work - the management team is supportive as long as you work hard and take responsibility for your job.  When I have needed flexibility in my job, my supervisor has helped me and ensured that I can put my family needs first.  Depending on the department you work in, this is not always possible because Community Services ensures that quality care for people supported comes first, as they should.  The pay for the position is competitive but pay overall in this field is low - people who work in this field should be here for something besides high pay.  The senior level managers are very approachable and easy to talk to - you can call a Vice President with a basic question, and they will call you back, even when that question does not pertain to their job.  Sometimes the attitudes of co-workers leave something to be desired - they can be argumentative and rude.

Upper management is totally out of touch with what base-workers and mid-management need to function. Upper seems to have little interest in genuinely helping lower level workers. Hardest part of the job is seeing some of the people you work for not getting the right help they need. 
Best part are your individuals...most of them are some of the most loving and wonderful people you will ever meet. Pay is honestly pitiful for the type of work(literally taking care of people and watching out for their safety,) but decent pay for sure. If you can handle high-stress jobs and accept you likely can't change the status quo, you'll be okay and the pay will feel "worth it."
The level of documentation that the state requires is well-meaning but also makes it difficult to properly explain what you do with individuals. That's out of the company's hands, though.

What is the best part of working at the company?
What I like the most about working at CSE1 is the supportive and understanding management team, which truly values employees. There is a a lot of flexibility when it comes to work hours. The work itself is really rewarding—knowing that what we do makes an impact gives me a strong sense of purpose.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
We often deal with challenging individuals who come from a background of trauma and that can be stressful and lead to burnout but CSE1 managers are understanding.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
CSE1 accepts you as you are; there is a lot of diversity and you can show up at work as yourself without fear of being judged.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
I work in a direct care job so I work in a house with people with disabilities - it can be busy and chaotic but I like the chaos because the work day goes quickly.  We go on appointments and outings and take care of the people who live in the house.

I worked at CSE1 for over 10 years, starting as a Behavior Technician, and being promoted to a Behavior Specialist. It is one of the best placed I have ever worked. I was a part of the Behavior Team, which was very supportive. All of the management I had during the time was competent, respectful, and understanding. I was able to work with many different professionals which allowed be to grow and advance in my career. I continue to keep in contact with past coworkers and management, some of which have become life long friends. It was the one agency where I truly felt supported and valued. Don't get me wrong, there are certainly stressful days, and the pay could be better., but for a non-profit.. the pay isn't bad. It is a great place to work, especially for someone earlier in their career. If you are interested in Behavioral Health and dual diagnosis, I strongly suggest you apply.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The ability to move up. I can’t add things I like if theres nothing else I like about the agency. They are very unfair when it come to staff

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
HR will believe anything the managers say even if it’s a lie..  I had proof of the site manager lying and getting innocent people fired but HR wasn’t interested In what I had to  say and ignores my emails with the proof

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Work environment depending on what site you work at and if your manager is a honest person. There’s bad PC ,AD, site managers /supervisors all over just have to be careful 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Sad . We don’t get paid enough money to live

Some in corporate headquarters will dismiss previous messages as well as time sign-in sheets to lie and shift blame. Constant changing of plans on short notice without having the ability to see how it impacts others that have to work through those changes. A lot of unnecessary passive aggressiveness in discussions that could be straightforward and opportunities to learn. Situations that were presented as opportunities to learn just ending up being cases of getting thrown to the wolves. Targeting for not being a perfect match with a group or clique. Multiple issues with pay not coming in on time. High turnover. 

Not a great match with the values that are presented on their website. There are multiple very nice and great people in the agency, but I couldn’t recommend working here.

The upper and senior management and directors are out of touch with what the company and employees need. They don’t take constructive criticism very well. They only promote based on their personal opinions on you versus what you’re capable of. If you disagree, push back or questions policies or procedures you should expect backlash or some sort of petty retaliation.  The pay is below average and they only give you a half hour break throughout your whole shift. They “hold back information” (lie) about  job requirements and expectations for many different positions. They don’t give many or any pay raises on being loyal to the company so you’re making the same rate as the new guy. I say if you’re looking to gain some  experience go for it but if you already have it then disregard this place.
