When I started at Conservice back 2021, it was a great place to work. The pay was great, the benefits were good, the insurance was decent, and if you weren't good at a position, they would look into transferring you to another position to see if it was a better fit before letting you go.

However the longer I was at Conservice, I noticed changes that seemed to negatively affect the working environment. Some examples being:

-The pay didn't keep up with the inflation and cost of living and the company switched from employees receiving annual raises to being paid based on your metrics over the last 3 months. Senior leadership would state they make sure they are paying their employees the "fair market value" but would not provide what sources they used to determine the fair market value. 

-The insurance went from being decent to can barely able to find a provider in your area. The company refused to offer any sort of fertility coverage or obesity treatment even as an optional add on benefit despite multiple employees across different departments requesting this. 

-The training when I started was 3-4 weeks with a 3 month ramp up. You started out with taking the calls for 4 of the bizbrands (multi-family, HOA, Single Family, and Military) and slowly added commercial and Student Housing as you became familiar. When I left, the entire training is 1-2 weeks max and you have to learn all the bizbrands during that time.

-The company was notorious for rolling out new programs/features without any sort of beta testing or training to employees. This would cause confusion with clients, residents and employees across departments and even lead to complaints due to delays in billing caused by the sudden changes. 

-If a process was changed that affected multiple departments, you were rarely ever informed until a supervisor in another department gets upset that the new procedure isn't being followed. 

-The leaders refused to accommodate employees for medical/health issues or offer any sort of career counseling to those struggling opting instead to let those people go for "performance issues". 

Before I turn too negative, I must say that I had a decent first impression. The facility is nice although arguably not appropriate for the neighborhood as it is very large. I felt ridiculous having just graduated with a bachelor’s and not getting a job that used my degree, and especially that I didn’t feel like I was treated like an adult. They didn’t seem to care that I worked hard for a higher education, nor did they offer me a higher pay rate than the employees with high school diplomas who couldn’t even compose a proper email. Another red flag I noticed was the training areas, which are indicative of a high turnover. The open floor plan is much too distracting and unproductive for someone with ADHD, although they frame it as more fun and friendly. It is very noisy and I often found myself listening to others’ conversations and not staying focused on my work. I had such a hard time hearing on the phone as well. Really, I knew they just didn’t want to spend the money on cubicles. It certainly wasn’t fun for me to not have privacy or peace and quiet. 
There is a strong focus on numbers to measure performance, which I always found unfair (or even unethical sometimes) as performance to me is always immeasurable and subjective.
The mindless, repetitive work was stupefying and I can see why they built the company in a college town as only desperate college students (or recent graduates in a tough market) are willing to do that kind of work. I felt like my brains were being fried as I stared at a computer screen and was sedentary all day. There’s little opportunity for advancement, and even then, it’s not exactly meaningful work. I don’t feel like I learned any skills that would transfer to future jobs. It’s just a job, not a career. I was just another body sitting at a desk to them and they didn’t seem to care about me as a person. 


Conservice is a customer service based company focused on giving clients a great product with great expertise. The trouble is that the executive team seems to be more focused on growth and numbers than on the well being of their employees - reflected by a greater focus on internal reporting, project timing and volume, and pay tiers based on how much work we take on, with fewer (and lower quality) company parties and get-togethers. They have, however, been very flexible with me as an actor and allowed me to adjust my schedule to accommodate for rehearsal and showtimes. Conservice is also very flexible with college students and their school schedules. 

The work is both mundane and stressful at the same time, requiring the specialists/account managers to be middle men between property management companies and utility providers. This means that we must stay on top of communications and be able to track multiple tasks at various levels of completion, and make sure both sides are doing their jobs, too. We read utility bills and enter the data in Conservice's system, send and respond to countless emails, and spend hours upon hours sitting on hold with utility providers. 

All that said, it is a decent office job with fantastic lower level management and nice perks like free soda/drinks, ping-pong and foosball tables, and an on-site grill/deli (not free). The PTO is really quite good as well, but the pay is frustrating for the amount of work they want you to do to get paid more, especially since health insurance, etc. comes out of your pay and is not an added benefit. There are several community discounts available, though, that are nice, such as a discounted gym membership. All in all it is a decent place to work, especially as a transition job or if you need additional work experience. 

• I tolerate a lot to be able to work from home. This is the main motivator for me to work for Conservice. Remote work takes away office noise, commute, most work drama, required obnoxious dress codes, and much  more. Yes, remote workers still have a dress code. 
• We get paid on a tier-based system. The more you do, the more you get paid. If there is no work though, your pay drops even though it's not your fault and management doesn't care. They almost always are drowning in work though. The pay scale has changed twice in 2 years though so this may be outdated by the time you read it. 
• Training is terrible. One of my trainers was hitting on an 18 year old in my training group. The trainer was also married. If you can survive training, the work get easier once you make it to the team. 
• Workplace culture: there is a ton of favoritism. The people who work in office together are more bonded to each other than the remote employees. They also favor religious folks heavily. Many promotions in this company are not skill based but rather 'who you know'. 
•We are required to have our cameras on for meetings. Sometimes we have 2-7 meetings a day. Sometimes there is only one per day. It depends on the demands of the month. 
•We use spreadsheets often. You need to understand basic formulas, basic math, and basic computer skills to do the bare minimum in billing. 
• You have to try really hard to get fired from this job. If your performance suffers they will put you on a performance plan for about 3-6 months and help you improve.  During this performance plan, they will coach you to be more efficient. The only people who lose their jobs quickly are people who do major things like harassment repeatedly. 

My coworkers was the best part of working there. It can be a fun job if you had the right people around which by the grace of God I did. They were fun, respectful and made the time go by quickly. Its a standard customer service job with decent pay to take care of your bills which I can appreciate

Problem is we found out that they manipulate calls and heap tons of calls on new hires. We saw people in cues for over an hour not taking any calls while all the new hires were getting back to back calls and wondering why those people that were actually in the que not taking calls. Was very unfair and we investigated and indeed found out the company was manipulating the calls and we confronted them about it. As we were also told that new hires would have to wait 3 months and based on call metrics to even be considered for emails and chats (which i have experience with emails) but come to find  out 1 of the new hires were on emails right away as they say they needed people and to be honest they just randomly chose out of one of us when I have had email experience for over 12 running an online store. This did rub a lot of us the wrong way and I resigned and stated to them why, I was called into a few meetings about my reasoning and I told them and now they consider me "unhireable" because of this situation. I was honest and now they would hire me anymore. I tested this out i reapplied twice with one rejection being "based upon your answers we cannot hire you at this time" when the same answers not only got me hired, but "this is the fastest I have ever seen anyone take feedback and improve so much", 99% call quality and 100 point perfect score on the calls that were evaluated by my superior but now im "unhireable"? Make that make sense.

I worked here for almost a year, the few months I was in the Synergy department was the only good experience I had with this company. The communication and support from my TL at the time was amazing. People were willing to help and teach me and guide me to improve. They are the only reasons I wish to leave a positive review. However, when I moved to Single-Family for more hours, I regret it and will forever regret it. The training was awful, I had coworkers who even told me that they felt bad since my training was new. My trainer was kind and answered my questions, but since I was remote she would not communicate when I was able to do things like make calls. My TL and ATL were also bad. They would say that I had time gaps in my work, but I was new and still figuring things out. I would do my best and explain the time gaps but they seemed to not care about what I was doing, just that they existed. They wouldn’t tell me if I improved or even how I could improve. I asked for help and even if I could shadow another coworker and they wouldn’t let me. They were always late to our meetings or sometimes wouldn’t show up and wouldn’t tell me. I remember crying from stress since I didn’t know what to do. I wasn’t receiving help and the workload was so low some days I’d go hours with nothing in my folder. I got so fed up I decided to quit when they brought that forward and ‘fired’ me. I was NOT happy that they wouldn’t let me even explain why I wanted it to be over. I did everything and tried but they just didn’t care. Never have worked in such a disorganized and uncared for department in my life. I never want to return to work there after that experience. I was so exhausted I slept for 3 days from the stress finally off my shoulders.

I have worked at this company a little under a year. I am still working there because it’s one of the few companies that will offer insurance in the area. Without the insurance I likely would have quit after 4 or 5 months. They are good about giving semi annual parties and we got nice Christmas presents recently. They give candy bars on pay day and fun stuff like that. And they let us play games once a week with our team as a team building. All those things are nice, so in some ways I do like it. But from what I understood things changed after the original CEO retired in 2020. Now all the upper management seems to care about is numbers. It’s a completely backwards number program. I can run 200 bills one day and 30 on a low processing day. I will literally get higher points when I did 30 vs 200. Seriously ridiculous!! It completely kills all motivation because the raises are based off of the numbers. You should be happy to do 200 bills in a day. But due to the numbers you might as well do only 30 to get higher points. I have been told upper management is trying to fix the problem. But it could take a year to be fixed. I truely believe upper management wants to improve things. But it usually takes 18 months to get things fixed. The PTO plan is recently updated to be more in tune with modern PTO. But it took 18 months of employees complaining before it happened. It’s just a big company and employees have to suffer the stress while waiting for things to change. It’s really frustrating.

Conservice is one of the best companies I have worked for. They are organized and will look out for each employee. A typical work day would include setting up my work space at my desk and preparing each program I will be using and jumping right into researching utility bills. 
I have learned which questions to ask certain providers across the nation and how to talk to property managers about pressing issues that may arise from my research.
Management at Conservice is an open door. I can go talk to my team leader or human resources or even the CEO of the company at any time they are not in meetings. We have a strict policy about being open and have open communications between each team or individual. 
My co-workers on my team are one of a kind. HR conducts interviews and places people of similar personalities and thinking patterns on the same team. I would not change my team if I were to have a choice. 
The hardest part of my job is trying to hit my goals per day. It can get stressful at times, however, the company does recognizes this and will take a monthly average instead of daily. This allows each team member to reach their goals. 
The best part of my job is interacting with all my co workers, even though we sit at desks we are not confined to cubicles. We have access to an instant messenger to talk about work related issues. It is really easy to relieve stress as the day goes on. 
This company, Conservice, knows how to take care of their employees and I would recommend them to anyone.

The billing department is terrible. It is the hardest job I have ever worked with the least amount of pay. Training is so rushed. They just give you a broad vague overview of the job, and then throw you in the deep end with only a group chat to help you & expect perfection. Everyone else in the group chat is also busy so you don’t have much support. They have such high expectations and there are strong repercussions if you do not meet them (loss of pay & threatening your future with the company).  

I had a really difficult portfolio as a new hire and I feel that I was set up to fail. I was given tasks that training told me “I probably wouldn’t need to learn how to do” but once I was on the floor, I was expected to know how to do those things quickly and perfectly. It is a STEEP learning curve, and they’re constantly changing processes so you’re always having to learn a different way each month. It’s a never ending learning curve, and not in a good way. They claim they’re trying to make it easier, yet the new updates they roll out do not work and just add more to your plate. You’re constantly having to relearn how to do your job. 
 
There is no work life balance. When I had a grandparent die, the ONLY THING my leadership said to me when I said I needed to take bereavement was “well how are you going to get all your work done?”. Their bereavement policy sucks. You only get 3 days the whole year. That’s it. No matter how many times you may need to take it, you only get 3 total. 

Take my advice and consider a different company. They do not treat people well. 


A vast majority of the jobs fall under the "Mundane office job" but a lot of the people who manage those "mundane office jobs" are wonderful. There are definitely quite a few bad apples, and you are really rolling the dice on who you're going to get.

I won't name names, but i'll name departments. In my half a year working at Conservice, I cannot tell you how many people had "Office horror stories" about the Single Families department. A very large majority of the people I talked to who previously worked there, absolutely hated every minute of it. I'm not going to waste time on the hr loop holes, nonsensical hiring system, consistent attempt to "follow grey policies", and general disrespect that seems to be floating around there. 

But, I will say I have an extremely close friend who has been trying to get out of that building since their 2nd month at Conservice. But, they are one of the absolute best on their team, and currently have 2 active improvement plans and dozens of documented discussions for extraordinarily minor things that no other department does. 

There are quite a few names that get thrown around, with 3 very common ones I won't mention here. So, if you're interested in working at Conservice. You are absolutely rolling dice to get someone who will be compassionate, understanding, patient, and genuinely want to see you develop. 

I got lucky, and absolutely adored my Leadership. But, I am fully aware that not everyone is.
