This place is good to get initial coding and office environment experience. Some offices have room for coders while others don’t even want coders in the office and even if they have the room will make you work out of your bag, randomly kick you out of your space, move your things, and just making sure you know you are not wanted there everyday you go in. Some of the coders know what they are doing and will gladly help out if needed. However, there are those that are lazy and ride off of your work. During covid they had all coders go back to the offices while management got to sit at home. And as of the date on this review are still working from home. I don’t think that’s right as it’s not required for me to be in the office to do my job. Even during hurricanes if the centers are shut down you are expected to work at home. But you aren’t allowed to work from home during a pandemic..? Management is horrible. They don’t know how to do their jobs and tell you the wrong coding information. Then when you receive your audit and try to dispute it they tell you that even though you were misinformed by them, you will not get your points back. They like to play favorites with coders- letting them have priority on PTO dates, slack off with work, take longer breaks, work from home, or give them choice of what center or provider they want. Annual performance reviews are a joke. They copy and paste the same thing for everyone. So the one who slacks off and never finishes their work will get the same score as a person who is always done, never fails audits, and always helps out others. There is no room for growth, you have to try to find another position inside the company and move. And that’s only if you have the certifications required for that position (which the company does not pay for because it’s not required by your job). Management will give you an imaginary title if they feel you are aggravated enough to the point of looking elsewhere for employment. Most people only stay here max 1-2 years. My guess is because they just get sick of this company and how it’s handled. The good ones leave because they’re tired of overworking themselves for lazy people and bad management. 

I have worked for Conviva for 3 years. Started with another department, but similar job. There is no set training program. You sit with other coders and depending on the person you're paired with, this can be great or very bad. There are issues that arise due to the lack of a unified training program and I feel this is a detriment to both Company and Employee. The Manager in my other position lacked management skills. She could be very rude and seem to enjoy her display of power (looking for minions) and made off hand comments regarding her employees. Human Resources agreed to pay for extra Certifications but the Manager denied the request (after I received another Certification that directly applied to the type of coding being done). She created an unnecessarily hostile work environment and that is reflected in the number of coders that have left her department of the company. I realize the potential in the Company itself and found another position that still involves coding, but with a different Manager. The difference is amazing. Thoughts and views are shared, wanted and appreciated instead of being viewed as a threat. It can be stressful at times. but that's normal. I encourage everyone to apply. Conviva is basically in it's infancy, but I consider that growth potential. Unfortunately, it completely depends on who your assigned Manager is. The pay is okay, but it is my understanding the salaries are being reviewed and I'm happy with that. 

If I could talk openly to the CEO my advise would be:
*Please look at the departments with the most turnover. There is a reason people are leaving in high numbers. Talk with current/former employees and get a better understanding of the issues and please address them.
*Please develop a dedicated training program, this will benefit both parties.
Otherwise, I feel this is a great Company and I plan on being here for long term.

I want to start by stating that I truly believe that Humana and Conviva are wonderful companies and I highly recommend working for them but specifically not at the CORAL GATE CONVIVA OFFICE. My reason for this statement is simply reflected upon the CA and Assistant Administrator in this specific office lacking in major leadership skills and ongoing double standards throughout my experience there. Upon my arrival at the company I was warned that this specific office was a revolving door of good employees leaving or  being let go, causing the office to constantly be short-staffed, this was proven true with multiple employees being let go or leaving due to the work conditions.￼ Rules change constantly here causing employees to do double or triple the work even doing work that is outside of what they where hired for with out the pay. When it came down to patient care, you could see the immense bias against Medicaid patients ￼as they were less of a priority than every other patients. The assistant administrator never really seem to know what she was doing, and and never truly assisted in helping the employees. It truly saddens me that this was my experience here, especially seeing that everyone on the staff was great at their job and always had a positive attitude all across-the-board, despite everyone agree that management (at this office) was not the greatest. Luckily this is not the experience that is described across the board but just this specific office. Upon giving my two weeks I was warned by multiple employees to start packing my bags because I would be let go before my two weeks were up, which sadly was true.  In conclusion Humana is a amazing company but offices like CONVIVA CORAL GATE  5643 NW 29th St Margate, FL  33063 is a terrible reflection of that. 

The office I worked at was the most toxic job I have ever worked in my life. If you were even acknowledged you were talked down to. I tried multiple times to report my manager to higher ups and was basically ignored. The office manager there is the most rude, toxic, impersonal person I have ever met and she has zero people skills. The job itself was wonderful and the employees for the most part were great, but the management was AWFUL. The only people who get treated with any respect are the ones who were liked. The lack of team work was terrible. But you were only required to work on your teamwork and be more of a "team player" if you were one of the people she did not care for. There is 1000% favoritism within that office. And there is a reason the turnover rate in that office is so high. They also leave employees paperwork on top of printers for everyone to see, they don't care about the security of your information and that's how you find out that you make less than people who started after you in the same position. After being ignored by upper management and feeling like the company did not care I put my two weeks notice in because that was my only option left. My notice was never even acknowledged. Instead my office manager ignored it and me and pretended like I did not exist. I don't feel as though the company is bad, but they really need to investigate their facilities and see the mess that is within. People should not be treated the way they do at that office, ever! This job is perfect if you love being stressed to the max and crying every day when you leave.

I have progressively learned so much from working here and have expand my knowledge and confidence in providing customer service and attending patients with precision and patience. I have been promoted twice , for my keen sense of adapting quick to situations and being able to work well under pressure and stress. Since this is a medical clinic , we have been confronted with an over-whelming amount of patients waiting to be seen by the physicians and specialists. The physicians would take their time with each individual to give them the care they deserve and need. Therefore, we would receive many complaints , due to wait, and we would have to be very patient and understanding of their concerns and do our best to keep the patients happy and calm by providing different options , coming in earlier in the morning or scheduling them to be seen first on another day, or simply provide snacks and a beverage. Consistently be attentive and aware of the patients needs. Being kind and calm came make a patient feel better and endure more time to wait. However, even if we have a million patients coming in and complaining and arguing most of the time, I love when I receive a little gift from my patients, for example: a box of chocolates. It would make me feel that , even if some of my patients are not too happy , that others know the hard work i put into what i do and it makes it worth while.

This company is a great place to start if you have no experience in a new career and no one else will take you. Conviva is lacking quite a few things that are major issues for an employer if they are trying to retain staff. They should put in place a training program for their new employees- not just hand off new people to whoever is able to train for the week- so everyone is trained the same way, the right way. They have no flexibility for their coders, no WAH opportunities, no advancement opportunities,  poor compensation, and they DO NOT approve of you getting any other certifications. Management is unorganized, Job duties are ill defined and because of this there are no repercussions for not performing your job properly. PTO and sick time are pooled together, so you have to use up PTO to go to a doctors appointment, or if you're sick. PTO can also be denied even if it was already approved- if the company deems that "Company needs come first". 
Conviva has a very high turnover rate. In the time I've been here, I've noticed that usually as soon as employees get at least one year experience they find another job, a better job. This company could be a lot better than what it currently is and they keep losing employees to competitors and wonder why. They need a total overhaul of management and how they do things.

Attempted restructured Hospitalist program, medical director overwhelmed by frequent shifts in contractual obligations of the group.
Medical director not sup[ported to maintain quality of life and standards of fellow colleagues.
Demand from administration to change original contract from 10 days on/10 days off and no vacation to sudden 7 on./7 off while no vacation.
No structured schedule regarding on call program.Seniority of previously hired physicians dictating the schedule of new comers.
Requested simultaneous coverage as on call hospitalist at the very same time with the same duties of two hospitals who did not share even common EMR.

Difficult interpersonal communication by policy imposed by fellow colleagues who have been in position from previous years rather than a structured ,well defined description of obligations on call and a coherent call hygiene and structure that can not let place for subjective interpersonal interactions in a highly professional interaction.

Typical day at work, where busy, due my position required a lot of follow up, 
My learning process was very proactive, I learned how to handle private patient's documentation(Medical Records), also to obtain license and credential verification from different state entities, I also learned the value of being in contact with customer and help them with respect and diligent, responding to their needs and finding solutions to their concerns. 
Management: my manager was always ensuring we as a team understand  our job making sure it always be aligns with the company's objectives, communication was clear often through regular  meetings and open-door policies.
Diversity and Inclusion in our workplace was an strong commitment making everyone feels welcome and respected.
The hardest part of the job, could be not be able to resolve a customer request.
Most enjoyable part of job: completing task, hitting a project milestone, making progress on a long-term goal, feels a sense of collaboration with my colleagues.

I work for this place for 3 months, and its a most Stressfull months i have in mpy entire life. I work in Healthcare field without any problem for 5 years. Since I started in this place its miserable.I was hired as Medical Assistant however they have another MA on this place that want to be a manager on her own. she will yell at you for no reason because youn are minding your own job. she want you to report everything to her. in this facility MA does draw blood, but for the other MA only her can draw blood without proper PPE. As for her she is not worried to get Covid 19 because its a fraud. I report to the manager every harassament she did. However the manager likes to cover this woman because as per manager she is there longer and shes a MA for 30 years. the manager sucks. she likes to do micromanagement. After working there I saw an opportunity in the same company but different location. they have opening all over Deland , Ormond beach, Orange city. And Yes I apply knowing this place will allow their staff to grow more in this company but No. As soon as the manager found out that I apply to the other location right away, She fired me without any reason. So if i were you guys dont go to this company.

They bring you on like you are the greatest thing since sliced bread. They "wine and dine" and tell you how happy they are to have you. They promise a culture of honesty, personal integrity, and all of the help you could possibly need to get up to speed.  They lie.  Once on board, the "training" is so far removed from what you actually need to learn to do your job that it would be laughable if it weren't so tragic for the patients involved.  If you dare to admit you're struggling or that you are concerned about anything, the problem is *you* of course.  The people who make the clinical decisions are so far removed from patient care that they have no business dictating how it should be provided.  The people who should have your back are more likely to shove you under the bus. Then they remove any possible avenues to communication to anyone who actually could make a change.  I cannot begin to describe my deep disappointment in this company.

The best part was feeling like I made a difference for a few patients in their self-care ability.  I also made a couple of friends who really supported me during what ended up being one of the worst experiences of my life.
