This company could change in the future, but looking at its track record... well, you'll be waiting awhile.

The biggest pro here is that the bar for entry is on the ground. This is a great way to get experience down on your resume if you're in school or a recent graduate if you don't mind getting paid the same rate as a grocery bagger. It's also a double-edged sword as you watch your colleagues flounder on simple concepts given that training is a hit or a miss. You'll get exposed to a lot of different tools, which is great to expand your skillset. Future employers will be impressed by the overall lack of organization that you were forced to endure. I've also made wonderful friendships with the other analysts on my team, hardship does really form the best bonds. 

As things stand now, all of the comments regarding exploitation are true. The goal posts are always changing regarding your responsibilities with no extra pay or merit. It's seen as a badge of honor to burn yourself out for the sake of productivity. Full time benefits are a joke, you're getting paid under market value with no annual COL adjustments. There's also no additional rate for overnight or on-call. Be prepared to work alone. You're constantly told the "it's just temporary" story, but things never improve. There is no such thing as segmentation of duty. If you don't hold firm, they'll just keep putting things on your plate such as auditing, threat intelligence, development work, the list goes on... For as much as they preach about their wonderful culture, it's not all it's cracked up to be. 

You would honestly only end up here if you didn't know any better or this is the best option you had at the time.

Walk in with low expectations and then lower them again just to be safe. Don't expect organization, don't expect getting paid what you're worth, don't expect a stellar training program, don't expect staying there for an extended period of time. If it wasn't obvious yet, the turnover rate is out of control (for good reason).

Working at CyberforceQ has been full of opportunities to grow and shape my career. I started at CFQ as an entry level analyst in the ERA program. The event response analyst (ERA) program is an opportunity for entry level talent to get hands on experience working in a SOC and to build a resume.  The ERA role can be tough with 24x7x365 hours of the SOC the work can be nights and weekends. The onboarding and training program is robust with consistent mentorship and advancement framework that will provide an incredible foundation to a career. The ERA role is a part time role with opportunity to place in to a full time position. It can be very difficult to break into a Cybersecurity career--this is one of the only programs out there that supports onboarding and training entry level talent.

After completing the ERA program, I was hired on full time and was hungry to grow my skills and capabilities. I have since had the opportunity to work in roles such as Incident Response, Penetration testing, Threat intelligence, technical account management, Engineering, DevSecOps, and GRC. CyberForceQ is a growing company focused on continuous advancement--this provided me tremendous opportunity to advance my skills,  contribute organization advancement, grow my network, and do meaningful work with great clients. Now that I am in a senior role, I really enjoy the remote work and flexible scheduling. Overall working at CyberForceQ has been a fantastic journey so far!

Some great people. You will learn a lot together with your team depending on the shift you get assigned to. 

Tons of tool exposure. Other employers will be absolutely blown away by the amount of tools you've learned, so much so many won't believe you.

Trial by fire, information overload, the expectation to carry the weight of many more analysts than realistic, well....that'll mean any other place you work for will never amount to the same stress. Getting out will feel like a walk in the park even when the new place blows up with work. It's something to behold really. Just remember though when you are asked what you want to get payed by the next place, don't under value yourself like this place does. You are worth more than they could ever pay you.
Read the rest of the negative reviews....they are all correct even till this day. You will be gas lit into believing that you are the problem with the company, if you complain you are weak. Toxicity in the workplace is pointed at the people who have the confidence to stand up and say things need to change for the better. The people who try to redirect blame? The ones that are to blame of course, management, power tripping "Watch Commanders" who love bossing people around.

I started in their CO-SOC, which is a Managed Firewall Call Center. You are on shift alone or with one other person. No leadership during most times. You shaddow until you "get it". The Security focused ones who excell get to go the the H|SOC, or the health care SOC. Big Michigan names signed with this company for PRICE. Minimum Price, Staffing, and effort. The Analysts run themselves into the ground with stress. Interns are worked just as hard and are paid peanuts. You will come in as an intern from college. We are talking less than 15 per hour for a Security Analyst. 

Compensation is a joke. 20k Under market on entry level. Standards are low so anyone who expresses interest pretty much makes it in. Hold regular job fairs and a good amount of people get in eventually, turn over is as quick as a few weeks. I only lasted 6 months and nearly the entire company rotated once.

AVOID this place unless you want a complex on your worth. Company is a "Puppy-Mill" for analysts. The building was new and clean. Nearly Zero Benifits

CybferForce|Q is a small but growing company and as such there are a lot of opportunities to do exactly what you want to get into in the field of cybersecurity. If you come in and take responsibility for your own actions and are ready to work hard and contribute to continuous improvement, you will likely really enjoy your time here. It's not a place where everything is perfectly set up and ordered exactly as it should be yet, but the best part of my job is working with my team towards that goal. You will learn a lot about all of the different practical aspects of cybersecurity (something I think all of us will tell you we didn't learn in school) and get to do real, meaningful blue-teaming work even in the intern role. The team has a really fun culture where we are ready to work hard together and get things done, but also laugh at things like the dumb.. er.. funny dad jokes too many of us make. 

The ERA program propelled me into the beginning of a great career. You have to be realistic. They tell you upfront what it is. You work a flexible part time position(remotely), you wont make a ton right away, but the work experience is worth more than Gold in this industry. The program is meant to be a launching point, not the final destination. Many spend months or even years without breaking into this field. Alot of  entry level roles will want 5 years exp, without giving you the opportunity to gain it. Its got a good culture with folks that are fun to be around. We work hard and we play hard. Within a year I was in a full-time salaried position. You will get out of this field what you put into it. We run 24/7, its busy work, but what we do is worth it. We are a small company but experiencing steady growth. Great place to work.

My time with CFQ was good. I've been trained well with a lot of feedback and encouraged to continuously grow. They've improved hiring practices and have worked to let go of low performers clearing way for better talent and working to keep the top performers. 

Team members act like a team. Very open to working together, sharing knowledge and even asking for help. 

The company is in a constant state of growth and is like a start up with in development processes and less experienced managers. It's a good space for quickly being promoted, but it also needs to keep the experienced people and develop more mature processes. Paying their team at competitive market rate would go very far in achieving this. 

A performative security company centered around developing as many superfluous alerts as possible in order to develop the veneer of actually doing anything. They will discard employees at a moment's notice who have given countless weekends, nights and holidays. Pay is way below industry standard and the CEO is totally disconnected from day to day operations of the company. 

Stay far away as possible unless you want to be paid below your worth and worked way beyond the scope of your contract. 

Working at this company has been a truly positive experience. The managers, especially those in the SOC, are fantastic – they lead with skill and understanding, making it a great environment for anyone, especially those just starting their career journey. There's a lot of opportunity to learn and grow here.

However,  while the full-time positions might offer better compensation, the part-time pay is notably low.

Some great folks at the work level, but management and leadership look out for number one (and it isn't the employees).  Will overwork you and set unattainable expectations with zero help to succeed and punishment when you fail.  Unattainable bonuses disguised as base compensation.   Turn over is crazy.  Longest tenured employee is just over 5 years, bad sign.
