Culture is cheap and fake. Benefits are next to nothing for employees. Established employees make less than new hires. 401k available but not offered to employees, and there is no match. Benefits costly and not great. No real perks to work here at all. Corporate will micromanage (without even showing up or regularly checking with you) and tell you what you do wrong and not help you when actually needed (especially evenings, weekends including Friday and holidays). Giving an extra star because the facility staff and residents keep you sane 

A typical day here is you WILL be DEMANDED to be overworked and you will LIKE IT or else they will threaten you. They don’t work with you when you have a family emergency and again, will threaten your license. Management scares the good ones away, so all that’s left are the bare minimum workers who refuse to help you. They expect you to work full mechanical lifts alone. They will come into rooms to make a mess and blame it on you not doing your job so that they can write you up. They will not work with you if you get injured on the job and will threaten you again if you leave to see a doctor.

What is the best part of working at the company?
I can’t really recall anything about this company that was positive, except a good life lesson learned.

No corporate support, difficult to obtain policy and procedures, and no structure or organization.

Toxic and supports a bullying environment

Every day is different, rapid changes with no direction or guidance, poor leadership

I have worked at many facilities with agency. This place sticks out. They clean for the most part.  It doesn't have the average nursing home smell. It has a cozy feel and staff may occasionally come off as rude but it's just the urgency for our duties and you have to be a good team player to be here or else you will break your back. I will say it's the best facility that I've worked for. Every place has its flaws but this place is a work in progress.

The company only cares about the bottom dollar! Buildings are falling apart, nurses don’t take care of the residents like they should! Management from the very top, to the ones in the buildings are unprofessional, they don’t introduce themselves to staff and communication is nonexistent, which doesnt help the morale around the building. It’s a very toxic work place, and it really pushes you to your boiling point . They do not value any good employees that come through their buildings. If you want to preserve your mental health, wait for something else to come along! 

Do not waste your time there. Management is horrible and the scheduler is worst. Its very click'e their. They promise orientation and you will never receive any. It terrible and if you want to keep your license I advise you to go else where..Never any help at all and the food look like garbage. I would not recomment this place at all.It need to be shut down.The patients are not receiving the medicine as they should and the staff dont care.

Awful and stressful work environment, the staff are always complaining about not having any help because the DON, ADON and unit managers sit in their offices all day. If you are not in their “buddy” system then you do not stand a chance. If corporate actually took the time to come down and talk to the employees, they would not have one good thing to say about the Administrator except his nursing team. He runs that place like a prison, and  corporate refuses to see it because once again he is friends with all of them outside of work.

Helping Residents and families. Professional development with staff.

Owners are incompetent and don’t invest in buildings or staff

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Untrained, no respect for leadership, don’t follow chain of command. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Chaos and stress. Every possible event is bad.

I have enjoyed my time with Eastern Healthcare Group. The Birchwood Park location is going through some renovations to improve the overall quality of care and services offered. The Director of Nursing has a sense of dedication that is great to see. The shortage of nursing is stressful but the team works together well to problem solve solutions. 

This is a fairly new company and because of that there is a lot lacking with regards to organization. They have had checks bounce. No accountability for poor behavior from managers and corporate. I went 3 years with out a review for my increase . The pay for the same job in other facilities is at least 10k less. You do not feel valued and you do not feel job security.
