Helping a 90+ year accessory design firm into the 21st century is a daunting task. My team and I would start with the many samples coming in from abroad. Setting up meetings with clients and vendors while maintaining a fast paced working office. Sometimes conflicts with creative personnel and management can mar the process but it helped me better to be able to come up with improved resolution skills, especially when we had our market weeks which were extremely challenging. My co-workers were an interesting lot that ran the gamut of trusting and supportive to hostile and indifferent but ultimately I ended up with more people who were supportive up unto my departure from the company. Management was great but with taking an almost century long company into a new century can be frustrating at times and ultimately as I tried to figure out the ways in which they wanted me and my department to to do what was needed they had decided on a different path. I had enjoyed the challenges that ultimately endeared me to a great group of people but with the company unsure of its future path I wish them all the continued success in the world.

This is a highly stressful work environment with constant poor management. This is a family-owned and operated company with career advancement and salary compensation PRIMARILY for the family and very few core employees only. The office culture is toxic with employees constantly whispering and being publicly berated by upper management. Hardest part of the job is being forced to socialize outside of work at corporate events with the very same people that have zero interest in rewarding you for a job well done. Management would typically outsource work for the same job function that I already provided in-house and offered to pay me a small fraction of what they would outsource to another individual. I learned to not trust anyone at this company and understand that there is no team building within this company---just abusive management and career inequity at its best.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Nice product, generous discount,  good  benefits closed during Christmas and NY holiday.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
No work life balance, no recognition for working overtime or on weekends. Salary does not reflect responsibilities.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Claim to be family-oriented but there's a lot of stress and inside circles. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Stressful and jammed with meetings

Echo is a good place to work for problem-solvers, people who can think on their feet and just get it done. I had a great manager who was always fair and very appreciative of the work I did. As a medium sized company (around 150 employees) it was nice that you felt like you knew most of the people at least by sight. I rarely had to work much overtime, and never had to travel for the job, which I was happy about.

Although mid -level Management was very pleasant to work with, unfortunately upper management displayed signs of nepotism with family members.

Job security and advancement were promised, but this only seems to be the case when upper management takes a liking to certain employees. Many employees were laid off unjustly, and for a company who claims to have such high values and standards, this was very unfortunate.

Fun place as far as the people you will work with but horrible upper management.  Very disorganized company.  Constant reorganizations and meetings upon meetings to get nowhere.  Management has a very difficult time in making decisions and often sets teams back on crucial deadlines resulting in poor product and team stress.  

It was a pleasure to work with the Company for 30 years. Got to learn to use computer software in no time with the help of other employees in my department.

This organization is all about working as a team and helping it's employess reach corporate goals.  Each person is encouraged to present opinions, ideas and strategies that allow for success.

The company is still run by the founder. Extremely unorganized establishment.
