Don't get me wrong, when the old HR director was there i was grateful for the opportunity, but under the new management, the new HR director, she is just very biased and has her favorites, if you are not her favorite , you do not matter in this company whatsoever. New HR director does not know how to be a leader, does not know how to manage, and does not know how to talk to her employees. As well, HR director does not know how to handle HR confidentality, DO NOT TRUST HER, better yet, DO NOT WORK HERE. 

Edison does not care if you under a toxic environment, can be with your coworker or other people that work there. Like i said management is very poor, unprofessional, and has a high turnover rate for the HR dept when new management took place.  ( that should tell you something there). 

I would definitely not recommend working here either in the company and as a home health care or personal care aide. Most spanish speaking aides are treated unfairly and are disrespected by coordination and someone in the HR dept. It just so distinguishing to watch and not be able to do something about it because of fear of HR confidentiality which does not exist to the new HR director, and just to avoid problems.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Most of the coordinators are very professional and resolve issues!

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Payroll take days to return a call!!!

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
I work in the field but most personal are welcoming. I never had any cultural issues. They have every type of persons regardless of who you are or where you come from, also you never out of a job once you decide to work with Edison Home Care! I been with them from 2017 until 2024 and regret that I’m leaving because of relocating 3 hours away from their working boundaries!

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Always a good day. As I said earlier payroll is my only issue. Can’t talk with them directly, have to leave a message with the receptionist and sometimes never receive a call back after days! That’s very frustrating …!!!

What is the best part of working at the company?
The best part is the study 40 hours during the week days with weekend and holidays off. As well as the team work and togetherness within the company. We also have fun company events such as bowling nights for all the employees to bond as a team / family. Also you can’t forget about the free coffee. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Having to many walk in at one time. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Very positive working space, everyone that works in the company is friendly respectful and willing to help one another. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
I come in I do my job then clock out at the end of my day with no issues. My job consiste of helping hha/ pca applicant apply for a job with in the company. As well as assisting aides with any issues they might come across.

Working as a personal assistant for a disabled patient allows me to display certain administrative knowledge I have acquired while take courses in medical assisting. Majority of my day is spent either attending medical appointments with my client to ensure that he and his physician(s) have clear communication, being that, my client is not too fluent in English. I am also responsible for keeping track of, and up-to-date with his appointments, car services, etc.
As I stated before, I have taken a few courses in medical assisting. I wouldn't necessarily view this jobs as a learning experience, I though I know I am not an actual "MA", I still would view this more as practice, because, I am not done with my studies, and, this keeps my mind on the medical field as I continue my Health Administration online.

I have been with the company a short time but they have been very helpful to me specially since I am new to the state. They care for their staff and everyone is treated like they are part of the family, all they ask is that you act like an adult and do your part. We are here to take care of people who are in NEED and if you don't show up or the same uncle keeps dying every other week than you cant be upset that we stop using you as an employee because the almost 4000 patients that are in our family need us to be helpful, reliable and consistent with our services. if you are serious about working and have a good heart that loves to help others, then we have a lot of work and we welcome you to our family. Come give us a chance and see for yourself why so many people love our company. we truly are EDISON Home Health Care and everyone that's with us is part of our family.

Edison was great at understanding that the HHA Professionals were people first and not just employees.

Remembering to sign myself in upon arrival.

Edison made it easy to resolve problems before they exacerbated into a more difficult situation. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Once I signed in and completed the necessary administrative tasks the rest was filled with doing what I love; which was taking care of my clients.

A typical day at work since I was taking care of a relative it was quite nice. 
No rush what so ever.  I learned to be on time with my schedule . Do every task that I was given and asked to do. The hardest part of the job was dealing with not going to important appointments at times  due to my relative having difficulty with arthritis on the knees and the car service being impatiently leaving us behind and having to reschedule the appointment for another day. But I did quite enjoy in helping my own relative out around her home and spending quality time as a family should. 

I constantly was in contact trying to begin a case with them but they were very unprofessional. Never answering or returning calls or Vmails. I needed a nurse to come out to the residents home but they never did. Constantly made excuses. They procrastinate constantly when it comes down to getting anything done for the client/resident (person in need of assistance) and it actually resulted in me just telling that person to switch companies, which cost me money/job but I couldn’t prolong their help with no pay. I wanted them to continue to get proper care...

The management in Buffalo was kind and supportive, the executive staff in Brooklyn is awful, provided poor training, proved no support, ignore your calls and emails when you ask questions but will quickly blame you if you make a mistake. They will blame you for the lack of accountability of others. Nothing you can do will be right in their eyes.
