I was a patient advocate, which means I met beside with the self pay patients and screened for Medicaid. I also reviewed the patients charts for disabling factors. If there were any I would then attempt a disability referral. I actually learned a lot about the Medicaid system in the state of Alabama and I learned about disability. Management was terrible, they didn’t know any more than the employees. They were learning as well but expected the employees to know what they didn’t even know. So in most cases we were teaching our manager. Most of the managers there are never on site working. They are literally at home pretending to be at work. They learn it from their boss. Employees can’t call out sick or be late without being guilt tripped about it. The managers don’t want you to miss a day so they can work off site and you can protect them by being there to take calls for case management and cover for them. The workplace culture is terrible the hospital staff are extremely rude mainly the nurses and everyone knows everyone’s business. It’s a very hostile environment due to the constantly questioning Elevates staff about who they are as if we are not wearing a badge opening the same doors they can open. On top of that they have seen you millions of times. Case management are just bluntly rude. The hospitals respect you depending on status. The poor cleaning staff and kitchen staff oh my to say the least. The job itself is not hard but can be frustrating because the company wants approvals you simply can not get do to the Alabama state law so they then come up with these bogus pointless task in order to make money nothing is really about the patients. The job best features are when you meet some of the sweetest patients and build relationships with them because they truly need you and deep inside the relationship you gained by helping them you truly needed. If you want a job for the moment to provide take it by all means but never think you can have longevity with such a messy company and messy mangers. And whatever you do never go to HR they tell your bosses boss every word and they relay the conversation now your targeted and give more assignments in your task list then the other employees.

A typical day at Elevate PFS is productive, structured, and supportive. Expectations are clear, and you always know what your priorities are. Communication flows well between teams, and there is never a shortage of resources or people willing to help when questions come up.
What I believe I learned:
Working at Elevate has taught me how to grow both professionally and personally. I’ve learned new systems, strengthened my communication skills, and gained a deeper understanding of patient‑focused financial services. The company invests heavily in training, so there are always opportunities to continue developing.

The hardest part of the job:
The most challenging aspect can be navigating the complexity of certain cases or systems, especially when working through high‑volume periods. However, Elevate provides strong support, training, and resources that make even the most complicated tasks manageable.
The most enjoyable part of the job:
The best part of working at Elevate is knowing your work makes a meaningful difference. Helping patients and contributing to a smoother healthcare financial journey is incredibly rewarding. On top of that, the teamwork, leadership support, and positive culture make each day enjoyable.

Currently I am a fully remote employee, so it has been super beneficial to have this opportunity. When we transitioned to a work from home environment I have seen a boost in moral from my employees. They get to save money on not having to pay for gas or extra expenses for wear and tear on their car, because they don't have to travel into work. We are all super grateful the flexibility this company has shown over the years to care for their employees. I have grown so much over the last 12 years of my employment here within Elevate. The biggest is learning how much of an impact one company can have on people, we are here to help better the lives of probably billions of people over the years. It is amazing to have a background withing this company to understand the multi-layers of the organization, each and every division has molded me to who i am today as a leader. The culture of this company as I see it is Family. Each of my leaders along the way have felt as true mentors, my employees feel like they are my kids and I truly care about where they go and how they succeed! I would say the hardest part about my job, is there are so many people out there that we can help but we are unable to connect with so many of them. All they have to do is pick up our call, and it is hard to see people shy away from assistance like it is a bad thing. My goal is to get more people to understand everyone needs help at some point in their life and it is OK to take that help, don't be ashamed of it. The best part about my job is being there for my team day in and day out, knowing that they have a shoulder to lean on when they need to.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Working remotely is pretty nice and the company, overall, has a respectful atmosphere toward everyone from the top down from what I have observed.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
From a representative level, productivity is highly micromanaged. Complex accounts can often take a while to research, especially when you have to go back 2 or 3 years in notes to identify the root issue. Due to this, you always have to provide an explanation for the length of time taken on the account.

From a managerial level, the amount of constant reporting and micromanagement that you’re required to do seems excessive to the point in which your responsibilities and deadlines start to conflict and you feel as though you don’t accomplish much in the day.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Person to person, everyone is very respectful. But, like most larger companies, things are becoming very micromanaged. There is a consistent air of distress within teams that I’ve noticed. Upper management has some level of concern. But, not enough to loosen a little on the reigns. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Complete reports, productivity, coaching sessions, viability, reviews, answering questions, calming panic from team members, writing disciplinary actions, jumping into Teams meetings, answering calls from patients and insurances, and answering client inquiries.

Here are a few points complied together that past and present employees have said about MedData in Duluth:
1. You will be doing a ton of overtime. People will call in alot and you will end up working holidays or vacation time will not be approved. 
2. They play favoritism with increases. You could work there for years and be the lowest paid employee on the team the whole time. To cover it up, they will tell you not to speak about pay to other employees. They would rather give you more work then give you an increase or promotion. 
3. If you are an administrator or a job along that line, you will be treated differently from higher management. 
4. Management holds grudges and retaliates on people they dont like. Management falsifies information and held meetings just to tell everyone how one person messed up, and would state their name in meetings (yes more then once). HR has looked the other way on HIPPA violations and claims of harassment. Huge amount of favoritism. One person will get written up for something, but if someone that higher management likes does it, they get away with it. 
5. You will be alright as long as you stay an hourly employee and get your work done on time.
6. Co-workers will pretend to like you and then throw you under the bus just to get in good grace with management.
7. You will feel behind all the time. You will feel like you cant catch up with the amount of work they pile onto one person.
8. Very little encouragement. Youll mostly get told what you need to do better.

THE WORST company I ever worked for! They don't treat their employees fair, advancement within the company is easy if you are liked, but if upper management does not like you or if you do not kiss up you will not promote even if you are MORE than qualified, yet they will promote someone who has only been with the company 6 months but does not have even a fraction of the knowledge they should as a team-lead or supervisor, while someone who has been with the company for years is constantly overlooked...  Favoritism is very much a problem within the company as well which piggybacks on the last statement.  It is a call center so, expect for it to be very micromanaged, however when you are told you will get 30 seconds between calls, this is not correct or true all the time, because sometimes management will manually push a call to you before your 30 seconds is up, not knowing whether you are still notating an account or not, nor do they care.  You don't get sick time,  you don't get vacation everything is on PTO which means if you have sick children, or become sick yourself, you can forget about being able to take a vacation. You will still get a "point" even if you are sick WITH A DOCTORS NOTE. The turn around rate is very high as well, and the company does not have loyalty to employees who have been with them for years.  I liked working with the company at first but as time went on I began to see how things operate and became miserable at work. I would never recommend anyone I know to work here, especially if they have children.

Elevate Patient Financial Solutions is a great company for individuals who are looking to grow both professionally and personally. The organization provides strong leadership support and encourages employees to develop new skills and take on additional responsibilities. I have had the opportunity to gain valuable experience in leadership areas, including training new staff and collaborating across teams.

The most enjoyable part of working at Elevate is the people. Everyone is supportive, helpful, and genuinely wants to see you grow and succeed in your position. The work environment is team-oriented, and employees are encouraged to communicate openly and support one another.

Management is approachable and invested in employee development, which makes a positive impact on overall job satisfaction. Like many fast-paced environments, adaptability is important, as priorities and projects can change. However, those who are willing to learn, stay flexible, and maintain a positive attitude will find many opportunities for growth and advancement.

Overall, Elevate PFS is a great workplace for individuals who are motivated, eager to learn, and interested in building their career.

MedData, formally known as Diversified Health Care Resources was the worst job I ever had. My manager was ok, but my lead was the worst. She knew what she was talking about but she did not know how to be a leader. She micromanaged everything I did. I worked independently at a hospital. However, my lead was monitoring in real time what I'm doing. If I did not post to any accounts she would call to check on me. I became really good at posting to accounts and tracking my time then she accused me of not being accurate on my updates and questioned what I was really doing. There was no consistency with corporate in Anaheim. One week we are doing something then the next week I'm getting yelled at for doing something wrong but nobody told me things changed. Then the following month I'm doing the new process and I get yelled at because we either changed back or this other person yelling at me didn't know things changed too. The people who work in Anaheim were so unprofessional, never wanted to help and just flat rude. Then to top it off, I find out that a new person who started after me, was making more then me. She had no work experience and fresh out of high school. I had 15 years experience, and a bachelors degree. Oh but her mom worked for the company so it's ok. Very disorganized. Very low moral. I hated going to work.

This is the worst company I have ever worked for!!! Management/leadership is horrible and they have favorites. You can not express your concern without a defensive response and threat to your job. The pay is hilarious (under $15/hr) and the company is broke!!!! Meddata currently does not have a parent company bc they were previously let go by the top revenue management company, mednax, for no profit being made....Which is a direct result of inexperienced leadership and high turn over rate as employees are not valued. Local competitors pay their employees way more.....Do not apply here. Leadership is afraid of confrontation and intimidated by employees who offer suggestions because they don't know what they are doing!!! Employees literally teach themselves and train new employees and are overworked and underpaid and still expected to do more! Meetings are a joke as our questions and concerns are never taken seriously and we hear "I don't know" from leadership way more than we should without a follow up....If they don't know then how are we suppose to know?!?!....They produce no results and we do all the work! This job is set up for you to fail... The employees are not the issue, as we all fellowship together and share the same grievances....And if everyone did'nt have bills we would've staged a walk out a long time ago! Please save yourself the trouble and....Run!

An average workday was very fast paced. My job involved juggling between hospital staff, counties, patients, families and nursing homes coordinating long term care benefits and placement. I typically dealt with several different entities at once. Hospital staff needed to move quickly, families were just coming to terms with difficult end life decisions and counties were processing through necessary paperwork. I strived to maintain cohesiveness between all involved. I learned to develop an assertive yet calm demeanor to facilitate the end goals of patient/family satisfaction and placement in a facility.
Upper management while located out of state maintained communication by frequent email and periodic visits to our hospital. Direct management was done by reviewing case notes and open dialogue. The staff was encouraged to work together to cross train between long term care and short term coverage. This provided a team environment to ensure an effective work flow and a productive work force.
Over all I found my job very satisfying. It provided a daily challenge and encouraged personal and professional growth. The hardest part of my job was dealing with families during their difficult times and watching them struggle with their emotions. Ironically, working with families was also the most rewarding and provides the greatest feeling of job satisfaction.
