At Emerest, everyone cares deeply about their patients and are willing to go the extra mile. You'll find employees here who are very engaged in their daily tasks, who stay way past 5pm because they genuinely care, and who have friendships that extend outside of the workplace. Everyone is very serious about their jobs, but also takes time to have fun throughout the day whether by getting lunch with a coworker, planning an office night out to the city, or  joking around between cubicles.  

Emerest is very growth-oriented, and management encourages employees to learn new skills and is open to critiques and advice from any employees. Management genuinely cares about the employees, whether you are working in the office or working as a CHHA, and wants all employees to feel comfortable, welcome, and happy. You can get promoted if you work hard and show you care. Effort, transparency, going the extra mile, consistency, reliability, and confidence are very important to be successful at Emerest. You get to learn a lot about the industry in a short amount of time, which at times can be overwhelming if you are given a lot to work on, but for the most part it's rewarding. Management doesn't breathe down anyone's neck and trusts their employees to fulfill their tasks without being demanding or giving deadlines.

The hardest part about working at Emerest is that sometimes the day-to-day can seem repetitive, and if you are not good with confrontation, then working as a coordinator or HR may be difficult for you, as they have to deal with patient/caregiver complaints when they arise. Management is very receptive to new ideas and suggestions, but sometimes ideas fall through the cracks when there is a lot going on, and it can be frustrating to feel like you have to repeat yourself at times. 

Compensation and benefits are fair depending on what job you apply for and what experience you have. Management is willing to give raises to those who deserve it, and they genuinely want to see all their employees succeed. I personally think the coordinators deserve higher pay, but everyone else is paid well. Benefits include 401k, health insurance, weekly pay, sick pay and PTO, HSAs, maternity leave, and crisis insurance. For CHHAs, we pay much higher than most companies out there and have many benefits such as weekly or day-of pay, an in-house salon/makeup/nail salon, caregiver of the week, 401k, insurance, referral bonuses, continuing education training, paid holidays and vacation time, and fun events throughout the year. Not to mention office staff that is very supportive!

Workplace culture at Emerest is the best part of working here. Everyone is really kind, there is no office drama 95% of the time, and everyone gets along. There are no supervisors, so everyone is treated as equally important to the team. Management has gifted the team with celebratory dinners, weekly lunches and breakfasts, bonuses, and the occasional gift card, all to show that we are important and matter to them. We have fun here, and all know how lucky we are to work in an environment where people are nice, where the boss isn't a jerk, where there is flexibility and understanding, and where what you do every day makes a difference. Management is open to hiring people with less experience in order to give them a shot, as long as they are a good fit with the team.

There's no such thing as a perfect workplace, but honestly, Emerest might be the closest you can get. Of course it isn't perfect, and there are some things to complain about, but everyone here feels very lucky to have understanding and productive management, fun and supportive coworkers/culture, and the opportunity to help those who need it every day. 


My client passed in May actually and it was extremely hard. My client and her son were and still are my family. I wish Emerest paid better by a few dollars because I feel like the job itself and doing it right deserved that. I changed her, cleaned her accidents, cook meals, cleaned her medical equipment, made sure she had her medication, bathed her and groomed her, did laundry, made beds, along with cleaning of entire house. My client deserved the best and her appreciation or her tears from seeing her house getting cleaned was the most enjoyable part of that job and the memories we made such as doing her nails, cutting her hair, we laughed, we cried, we are family and I will miss her so very much. Losing her was the hardest part of my job because we spent Christmas and birthdays together because her parents had already past on. She could be over baring at times but I wouldn't trade a single moment and only wish the people who truly take care of their clients and make sure they are truly taken care of were compensated for their hard work. As far as management I never had any problems. They were very nice and everything was really smooth sailing.  

Overall happy working for the Company, they offer many types of jobs and flexible schedules that I may be or not interested in.  The only downfall for me is the job offers are usually out of my way half hour to forty five minute commute each way. I have not yet been able to find a permanent opportunity that is accommodating with my personal job preference and needs. I was expecting to be offered more opportunities closer to home because I was aware that their company had opened another office close by my town, but I have not yet been offered a permanent opportunity to fit my job preference and that is more accommodating and flexible to fit my needs.

I am presently a bit discourage but still hopeful for a better turnaround in the near future..

Emerest is doing great things for people in need. I enjoyed the flexibility and opportunity to be paid for caring for someone I knew. However, if you are caring for someone you are not familiar with, $12 an hour is not acceptable in 2022 for at home care. Training is left up to the person in need of care. This can be good and this can also be bad--depending on the person. I believe Emerest should offer a free class for CPR and basic healthcare at the very least, no matter who you're caring for.  (Even if it was an instructional YouTube video; anything would be better than nothing at all.)

Again, Emerest is doing great things for people in need and I hope they can continue offering their services to the less fortunate. However, there could be a few improvements. 

I hope that one day they may offer slightly better pay ($14-15hr), and minimum healthcare training. 

In a typical day at Emerest Health of New Jersey, we help out the clients and Home Health Aides with anything they may need, questions or concerns. Working for Emerest has taught me how much i like working with people and helping others. Management here at Emerest treat workers with respect and they value our opinions, i like the environment and i enjoy the company of my coworkers. The hardest part of my the job would have to be when we have long time relationships with clients and their family members and then they pass away, sending our regards is something we always do, but is not always easy because to us they have been like family, but even with the inevitable, helping them will always be very rewarding.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The family atmosphere the minute you walk in.  I enjoyed working there and the kindness I received when I had to leave and take care of my mother. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Making sure that we pair the caregiver with the client to ensure great quality care while laboring with love.

Family all the way from the employers to the employees. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
I was front desk receptionist. The first face everyone would meet entering into the office. Greeting everyone with welcoming smile.

I've loved working at Emerest! I appreciate how flexible the hours can be, and that I can work outside of my full-time job for supplemental income but still get to take care of a loved one who is disabled - I'd much prefer to spend my extra time taking care of them and making sure their needs are met. The Emerest staff have always been fantastic to work with and communicate, they are very responsive and helpful when a caregiver has questions. It doesn't pay a lot, but it is enough to supplement and allow me to care for a loved one!

Nothing I find it stress free.

Collaborative, supportive, teamwork, as well as independently, always have someone to ask questions.

Do a huddle go over any issues and then work your shift get to know your patients document.

Caring for those who are unable to care for themselves.

I’ve been given a raise 2 times, but then they took  away my travel incentives .It’s like not getting the raise at all…so disappointing!

It was ok never really got to know to many people within the company just my case manager basically
