Overall, I loved working here. Working with clients in crisis can be demanding but extremely rewarding. I believe that the training was adequate and management would not send crisis specialists on their own until they felt ready. That being said, the compensation was lacking. They try to justify it by offering extra pay for being on-call and pay differentials for working evenings/nights/holidays, but it's not enough to make a big difference on your paycheck. There is also a high turnover rate for staff as well as management. My team was almost never fully staffed, making the workload for the rest of us much more demanding and I put in a significant amount of overtime. There were also so many changes to management that it was hard to feel organized and supported. Lastly, there was not enough done to ensure the safety of staff. Clients in crisis can become aggressive, and there were rare instances of coworkers getting assaulted or vehicles being vandalized in the parking lot. It is the nature of crisis work, but EHN could also take more measures like hiring security (at the very least). Crisis work is not for everyone, but it is a valuable experience that will prepare you for anything if you pursue a career in mental health.

The company itself is okay. They provide really good benefits for their workers. However, its branches are horrible to work for. Specially, the mental health clinics. Its upper management is horrible, with one things on its mind: money. It is stressing and they will work you until you cant any longer. 3 -5 people leave every 3 months because of the stress and the lack of understanding from management. Because people leave Caseloads are always fluctuating: you can go from 50 -90 from one day to another. Which leave a lot of clients in NEGLECT. Rules are always changed and there is a lack of communication from upper management, and management. When people speak about it, you have a target on your back from upper management. HR does not do anything and ethics points are not investigated. The CHILDRENS clinic CHAMhPs and YES waiever is by far the worse ones to work for. 8 people since the beginning of the year 2019. Despite being called nonprofit organization that helps El Paso, it's really just a bussiness that cares about money and face.

A typical day is started by reviewing emails and voicemails incase of any emergencies. Followed by heading out to the community or consumers homes. Educating on skills training or assisting with locating resources in the community. Trying to hit a monthly target of billable hours. Driving to crisis's and doing all you can to prevent consumer hospital stays. Hardest part of the job is being able to see every client as needed and lacking community resources available to assist them. The most enjoyable part of the job was working with individuals of all walks of life and being able to see their progress and growth after working with someone who listened and believed in them.

a typical day at work would consist of following the daily routine and completing all tasks in the timely manner. I learned to be much more patient and be willing to listen to others suggestions. My supervisor worked with schedules most of the time and for the most part considered your personal life and work schedule as well. My coworkers were very great individuals and I got along with every single one of them. The hardest part of the job was not taking some of the incidents that happened there home and dwelling on them. The most enjoyable part of the job was making the clients happy and seeing their reactions.

I worked for this company 3+ years I was very happy with my job the only thing is that the turn-over was horrendous. Being a mental health clinic your clients don’t like to see different people dealing with their cases especially when they built trust with a certain caseworker or therapist and then they leave. The workload is heavy and management is not great from the 3+ years I had 2 terrible immediate supervisors that don’t care for their employees well being. HR department is even worse they don’t seem to know anything policies or procedures. Constant revolving dirt in every department. If you are not scared of these issues…I would say go for it. 

I have been working for MST for almost 2 years now and I LOVE IT. I never thought I could find a place where I feel accomplished professionally and have time to balance my family. As a mom this is very important. Also, (it pays a little more). The flexibility is one of the things I love more about MST. 
Also, the MST model is very interesting and fulfilling. We provide a full service to our clients and their families, as an LPC this is very satisfying at a personal and professional level. Also, I really love working for EHN. Its a very good company, the higher ups are very committed to our community and their employees. 


Horrible management! Staff are always sleeping on the job and forgetting to give out medication to patients. Patients dont eat because the staff doesnt care about their jobs, just the paycheck. The work environment is cut-throat and coworkers are rude and unhelpful. Management will not help with any of the problems, and blame the workers for everything. I would say job security is very secure due to the fact that many workers there are constantly being investigated for neglect and abuse and no one gets fired or put on probation. Pay is not worth the headache. Go somewhere else that will appreciate you.

A typical day at work was going for staff meetings, counseling clients with issues such as assisting them find a place to work, live , pay bills etc.. I learned how to be a more efficient worker and team player. Management was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. The hardest part of the job was seeing clients come into the clinic that refused all help available to them. The most enjoyable part of my job being able learn from such amazing nurses, therapist and doctors.

The caseworker role at Emergence Health Network is very demanding, yet support from management is limited. Training does not adequately prepare you for the day-to-day realities of the job, and expectations can feel unrealistic without the proper resources. Client caseloads are high, work-life balance is challenging, and turnover among staff is high. The job description also does not fully reflect what the position entails.

Emergence Health Network is dedicated to customer service. Team members are busy but yet provide quality services to clients. Management encourages teamwork which allows for staff to be less stress and more productive. Co-workers are focused and friendly. Seeing clients recovery from mental relapse is a goal we all strive for and it is a joy to see our clients progress and recover.
