Entrusted Pediatric Home Care

Typical positives and negatives of working home health. Flexible schedule, plenty of cases to choose from, 1:1 ratios, but there is no incentive structure. The charting system is best thing about this employer. CubHub is simple and doesn't require redundant or repetitive data entry like many others. Standard pay.  

They gamify additional pay with apps like JollyPoints or CareCoins. You get points in an app for things like submitting charts on time, picking up a shift, or providing feedback, which you can then spend in the app. This has been a massive turn off for me regarding my continued employment with Entrusted. Using AI to track employee performance and dole out incentives accordingly is understandable. Provide raises, bonuses, shift differentials, mileage reimbursement, opportunities for internal advancement to reward and retain high performers. JollyPoints or CareCoins are not appropriate incentives in a professional career. It's demeaning.


My work week is Sunday to Thursday nights & love coming to work. Fell love, support & appreciation from both patient/family & everyone at Entrusted. My manager Mario & DON Nancy are always there when needed & even reach out to know how we are doing or if we ever need anything. It’s the best job I have had since becoming a nurse & thank God for putting this patient & company in my life path. The work culture is more like an extended family with honest support. The hardest part of my job is the days I’m off not seeing my patient but still comunícate those nights I’m off with nurse working to see how my patient is doing this making my patient the most enjoyable part of my job now that he is 11 years of age and reaching that most important time in his life he needs guidance & love along with healthcare. Love watching my patient enjoy life and reaching those milestones with the love & support from not only his family but also his nurses. 

Coming from another PDN company, Entrusted is the light years ahead. Onboarding and orientation was smooth and timely. Pay is competitive and more than I was making in the hospital or outpatient setting as a pediatric nurse of 9 years. Medical insurance is affordable. PTO could be better, max is 40 hours annually. But working 3 days a week makes it easy to schedule appts and vacations on my days off.  My schedule is 3-4 twelve hour shifts per week and I’m on a set schedule which I love. Management is effective at communication and leadership. Quick response whenever I have a question or need assistance. The charting system is very easy to use. love my patient and his family and I truly look forward to going to work everyday. I work 10 minutes from my home so I don’t have to deal with traffic anymore. 

Pros:  
-Management was very understanding and seemed to really try and work with you. They are also very friendly, and I felt like I could call anytime no problem.
-CubHub charting is the EASIEST and most efficient charting I've ever used. 
-Very flexible hours, negotiable pay

Cons:
- They were unorganized in ways such as not putting me on shift when I have a set schedule, so I would show up and have to call to get it fixed a few times..
- I had to constantly check my hours and make sure they were correct because there were discrepancies some times, which was annoying
- I was called about clocking in/out correctly as a warning, but they couldn't verify if I was actually having issues in this area. 
Overall, even with these issues I would consider working there again, and this is due to their friendliness and use of Cubhub charting.

As the home health industry continues to expand and companies providing services try to match the growth, it becomes easy to fall through the cracks whether being a nurse or a patient. Entrusted Pediatric Home Care has kept the small company feel where management are real humans and treat the employees as people, not numbers. There are great benefits to full time employees and the staff will accommodate your schedule as best as they can manage. Entrusted uses a on the fly charting application on phones that can make charting easier, however the program might have some kinks to work out still. The staff will also accommodate compatibility between family, patient and health scenarios and the nurse. This allows for better care and goal achieving for all involved parties.

Not enough PTO. You start out with no PTO then have to build. If you work 3-12s every week then it takes you a whole year just to build almost 2 weeks worth and only if you don't use any along the way if you are sick or the child you take care of is gone overnight anywhere and you are not needed to work. Pay is not competitive and very, very low. Even high tech cases are low in comparison to what other pedi agencies are offering. They won't negotiate pay and you do not get yearly reviews or raises so no advancement room. Covid pay is capped at 30 hours at $20/hr and only if you can prove you caught it at work. 

During the phone call I was told they had a ton of cases available to choose from. They asked me what days and shifts I was interested in working. They proceeded to give me only one option to work which was opposite of the days I could work when they asked me what days zi was available. It was the only case I was Offered after being told the opposite. I never worked and they wasted my time. The treatment was dismissive and rushed. The pay they offered was the lowest pay ai have ever been offered. Incould not recommend this agency to Nurses or families. 

The company is small and the management person-ell are all wonderful. I do truly feel cared for by everyone, which is a big deal for me in a work environment. Management does their best to meet my goals and the schedule is very flexible. The only drawback for me personally is that they do not have many cases / contracts in my area, so finding a home near me that is a good fit has been very challenging. I highly recommend working for them though if you are looking into pediatric home health.

the change of clients when parents decided to change their mind after you’ve worked for them . Pretty common

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Just work a shift if you get the case that you need or something that agrees with the family have a night shift to work

The company itself is great to work for; they are understanding and approachable. Have had no issues at all with management or payroll. As far as the job goes, it is a good job for those who want an expected shift or appreciate continuity of care with one or two patients. A downside is there is not much room to expand skills or experience, it is not a fast paced environment, and you may have to deal with differences between plan of care and family input/preferences.
