A typical day at work
I was usually the first one in the building, disarming the alarm system and setting up my workstation. My mornings began with checking MS Teams for same-day call-offs or tardies from providers (doctors, dentists, RNs, etc.). I then had to close schedules in Epic, update the master Excel document, and contact PRNs to avoid patient cancellations. If coverage wasn’t possible, I worked with the contact center to reschedule patients. After that, I compiled daily deliverables and prepared metrics for upcoming dates. The job required quick action, but nearly every decision needed approval, which often slowed me down when leadership wasn’t available.
What I learned
I was exposed to Epic for the first time, which was valuable experience to add to my skillset. However, despite my Workforce Management background, very little of my prior expertise was used or supported in this role. Mentorship was lacking, and often when I asked for guidance, I felt more like a burden than someone being developed.
Management
Management was inconsistent. My efforts often felt overlooked, especially during daily 9 a.m. meetings where I presented data. The challenges being discussed were tied to provider attendance—something outside my control—yet I was made to feel like the scapegoat. On one occasion, I was approached by senior leadership in a way that implied I was responsible for missed goals, despite not even having access to the data they wanted. When I raised concerns with my supervisor, I was told to “let it go” instead of being backed up. That lack of advocacy was discouraging.
Workplace culture
The culture was inconsistent. I worked with some genuinely kind and considerate people, but also with others who were rude, dismissive, or outright unprofessional. The environment could swing between collaborative and toxic, depending on who you were dealing with that day.
The hardest part of the job
There were several challenges, but the final straw came after months of early mornings, late nights, and weekends dedicated to work. Instead of recognition, I was told I “needed to manage my time better.” That comment was the deciding factor in my resignation—it was disheartening after the effort I had put in.
The most enjoyable part of the job
Despite the challenges, I did value the exposure to new tools and skillsets, especially learning Epic. I also built strong relationships with some colleagues, which helped offset the difficulties of the role.

Over the past two years, I’ve seen a real transformation in our culture. The focus on people has become central to how we operate. What used to feel different center to center now feels aligned and consistent, while still celebrating the local communities we serve and hire from. One thing to know—this is a 100% in-office organization for most roles. Clinical teams have to be here to care for patients, and the rest of us are here to support them. It’s a culture of presence, collaboration, and teamwork.

Compensation and benefits have seen major improvements, too. So far, so good! Therapists are scheduled with therapy appointments for the duration of the day besides meetings, lunch breaks, trainings, supervision, etc. Leadership is pretty supportive with education, training, and career development. The behavioral health supervisor is fantastic. It can be hard sometimes dealing with a system that is a little complicated and geared more towards medical treatment as opposed to just behavioral health but it is doable. There are some great co- workers and supportive staff- we’re all just spread out amongst various locations but we have virtual meet- ups. Loan forgiveness is possible and typical for those who apply which is a huge plus. I feel like this is a place you can safely settle into your career and thrive. The patient population can bring some tougher challenges to the table so you have to monitor yourself for burnout but overall they are wonderful and express a lot of gratitude. I left another decent job to work here at Evara instead and I have no regrets! 

As a Dental Program Manager overseeing seven growing clinics, I'm proud to be part of an organization that is truly committed to serving our communities. My experiences at this company were not something I will look back fondly at.  My average day was spent keeping my team of csr motivated and on task.  I would have many coaching meetings to help the team meet their goals.  I was responsible for the hiring needs of the call center.  The senior leaders of the company treat people poorly and create an atmosphere that most people will dislike. You will likely be talked down to and disrespected.  Workplace culture? Doesn't exist here. The hardest part of this job was interacting with the senior leaders.   The most enjoyable part of the job was the time spent making connections with the patients and my team of schedulers. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
The pay is decent but you will be expected to travel to all of their locations, usually last minute.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
They play favorites with their employees and let certain people show up late and hardly work on their shift, and the people that do all the work get scrutinized for the mess the lazy friend of higher-ups leave behind. It's a serious issue.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
It's completely different from one employee to another. If you're not sucking up to the boss ladies and you're not buddy buddy with them, you'll be running from room to room and floor to floor non-stop with no recognition.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Chaos. Doing things by yourself because no one else is working.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Filled with keeping your area and patient rooms clean, running controls for the equipments. Prepping for patients, greeting and rooming patients, taking vital signs, administration of medications when needed and more!

Working at Evara Health has been a good experience overall. The mission to provide care for everyone really comes through in the work, and it feels good knowing you’re part of something that makes a difference in the community. There are opportunities to learn and grow if you take initiative, and leadership is supportive of development.

Like most healthcare organizations, the workload can be heavy at times and priorities shift quickly, which can be challenging. But the people you work with are dedicated, and that makes a big difference in getting through the busy days.
