Everas management only cares about results in terms of the day to day maintenance of their programs. This would be fine if the group homes and day programs were properly staffed however that is rarely the case. 

Supervisors are expected to cover all holes in their staffing for their programs with no additional compensation for overtime spent covering open shifts in their group homes. Supervisors are expected to work  overtime is there is need in their region. Supervisors may be expected to work incredibly long shifts with insufficient rest periods between shifts. Managers and directors do not care about your work life balance. All they care about is ensuring you've your programs documentation in completed to at 100% perfection. Minor errors are treated the same as major errors in documentation, even when caught and address immediately. Time of for group home managers is available but rarely allowed because group home staffing is poor. This occurs while regional directors and above able to take frequent time out of the office. If you need to take a medical leave be sure that you speak with HR and including your direct supervisor. If you need medical or disability accommodations ensure that you are speaking with HR with your lawyer present. They will take advantage of your rights.

My biggest issue with this company is that they expect you to work overtime to cover open shifts but they will not compensate you for the extra time as the manager role is salaried. 

Working at Everas as a DSP(Direct Support Professional) has been the most rewarding professional experience of my life - and honestly, it has impacted my personal life in the most beautiful ways as well.  I have been with the company for over ten years, and it never feels like it is just a job.  The work we do is challenging at times, as supporting individuals with disabilities takes heart, patience, and commitment - but the rewards are immeasurable.
The unconditional appreciation, love, and loyalty from the people we care for is something that stays with you.  The special bonds I have built with them I will carry with me forever.  Beyond that I have also made lifelong friendships with the amazing coworkers I have met along the way.  Everas fosters a true sense of community and the team here is full of people who genuinely care.
The company also offers a lot of flexibility with a wide range of shifts and programs available in group homes spanning across 10 counties and several day programs.  There are many opportunities for advancement in different departments within the agency and management is always supportive and willing to help.  Benefits are also very good - definitely a strong part of what makes Everas a great place to work.  
At the end of the day, the reward of this work at Everas far outweighs the challenges.  If you are looking for a place where your work truly matters and you can make a lasting impact, I can’t recommend Everas enough!

I love my job.  I am a born leader, I love being a supervisor.  The work can be stressful and difficult at times.  But you are never alone when it is stressful.  By overcoming those stressful times together as a team, it is more rewarding.  

Staff understand each other and work as a family.  Clients appreciate us and the work we do.  People underestimate the clients, but they understand and that makes you want to go to work each day.

I have been in this field for a while now.  Working with people gives me sense of responsibility.  It brings the best out of me.  You get to be more caring.  You understand life in a different way from working this job.  I love the clients, the staff, the organization and how the organization allows you to work with people with the same purpose as you.

You can get promoted here.  They like to promote within, where other companies don’t do that.  It shows how much they appreciate the workers and want them to move up.  It motivates you as staff.  Compared to other organizations, Everas pays more.  It is rewarding work that brings out the competitiveness of wanting the best for your program.

When you work for a company and are there long, it becomes the family you collect along the way.  Working at Everas, the staff, the clients, it is rewarding as a human being.

I am a 13 year employee at Everas.  I started as a Residential Specialist and later was promoted to Assistant Manager.  I have been in this position for about 6.5 years.  As an Assistant Manager, I find my job fulfilling.

As part of my job, I work directly with individuals with developmental disabilities and help them in various ways to have their needs met.  I make sure they have a nice, clean, safe living environment.  I also handle the program schedule and the doctor appointments.  I take the clients out into the community, which I especially enjoy.  I love my clients.  I find working with them very fulfilling!  

I like the employees I work with - I have awesome staff!  Everas provides a family atmosphere.  Everyone goes above and beyond to help me.  I have never had a challenge with managers, and anything I’ve faced over years was handled amicably and fairly.  

The pay at Everas is good - especially compared to other agencies in the field.  

Like everything in life, you have ups and downs.  I feel like this is a place where I want to retire.  If I didn’t like it here, I would have left.  I’ve been here 13 years; I am well adjusted. I know everyone in all the departments, and they know me.  When I come to the office everyone greets me.  I like the family atmosphere.

I have been with Everas since 2014.  The best parts of my job are the clients and engaging with them, assisting them in reaching their goals, and taking them out into the community.
A typical day at work would include working with the clients and administration work.  I assist clients to reach their goals, like cooking, laundry, walking in the community, and taking them on an outing.  I like taking one client out at a time, then the next day another client goes out.  It allows the clients the chance to attend or stay home and it gives clients one on one attention.  I like encouraging the staff to do the same.
I find myself patient and caring.  I have a lot of empathy for the clients I serve.  I enjoy being with them.  Others that are considering the job should also be patient and empathetic or the job won’t be for them.
A good day is engaging clients and seeing them happy.  Some may like arts and crafts or song and dance, whatever is interesting to them.  Taking clients and getting them involved, seeing the smile on their faces, to me that is joy because I know that they are happy.
I am very impressed with the trainings Everas provides.  They are very good trainings, very beneficial for the job.  I also like that there is room for growth at Everas.

Great job to have caring for individuals with developmental disabilities great pay as well because the entire agency is under staffed so theres alot of overtime. Beware of that though because once you start picking up overtime and then when u cant management get mad and will mess your hours up. Or not let you pick up at their house. Supervisors coordinators and directors dont care about the clients nor staff. Its about covering your a** at this agency. Most of the time you dont have the supplies to perform your job but you have to figure it out because the blame is always the group home staff whom coordinators and director of residential services always put the blame on and fire instantly. Working here you wont have a outside life because their so understaffed. The only good thing is the money and clients. May God bless their clients though because i seen a lot of dirty stuff with this agency and how management operates. I feel bad for the staff as well everybody is so scared to lose their job because they go on firing sprees and literally have no shifts covered while office management sit back and watch.

A typical day at Everas starts with prioritizing events for health and safety concerns and planning around solutions to resolve those issues.  Reviewing requests from programs and determining which take top focus, and which impact staff and clients.  We focus on the impact to clients.  My role is to review all requests submitted and then dedicate necessary staff to resolve those issues.
One of the main things keeping me here is that a typical day is never typical, it is very dynamic.  My interest is in providing for our clients who are disabled and keeping in mind that they deserve the same services and considerations that we as staff deserve.
If I was looking for a new opportunity at Everas, I would first do research.  You should make a decision based on having commitment to give our clients what you feel anyone deserves.  Clients deserve the same treatment and considerations that we do as humans and staff.  If you are not service oriented, this is probably not the job for you.  It does require involvement, care, quality, and respect.

Unless you're in the upper echelon of the organization, such as directors, you are beyond overworked and horribly compensated. What's worse is the lack of job security or even recognition - management is ready to turn on you at any given moment, or throw you under the bus (they are overworked as well with no support from coordinators/directors). There is little to no respect from managers to staff and what good managers there are quickly run off due to awful and cliquey attitudes of upper management/coordinators/directors. Due to lack of good benefits and respect for the hard work that needs to be done throughout the shifts there is high turn over and a general overtired and frustrated atmosphere. The workplace culture is overall toxic. The most enjoyable part of the job is getting to know and help the clients, as they deserve to be the priority. 

Working here, the number one thing is the clients.  I see the difference I can make in their lives, helping them achieve their different goals, and helping them with behaviors.  Seeing them transform from displaying behaviors to becoming stable, the joy of that and making a difference, makes me feel proud.
It is my purpose to be here.

It gives me gratification and satisfaction, knowing I am helping these clients.  You come to love the people you are helping; you can’t help but love them.  Seeing the smiles and joy, seeing the transformation as you get to know them and them trusting you.

Showing affection and understanding.  Seeing them as people.  Building that trust.  Everas gives you that.  You have the ability to change their daily life.  Everas gives you flexibility to go in and have the impact with the Behaviorist to understand their needs and meet them when they are.

Thanks to lack of full time staff, part time and sub staff make more than administrative staff when working overtime. This also gives them all the power. Managers end up being forced to fill in the multiple shifts left open every week themselves with minimal help and no additional compensation. A few admin or office positions are ok and able to stick to a 9-5 M-F, but most are overworked. The President is great, caring, and hard working, but it seems like she doesn't get the full details of the issues in some departments. Mostly just for HR and client services (residential and day program). Problems get downplayed, glossed over, and/or scapegoated. 
Overall, the clients are great and the best part of the job. There are a few "difficult" clients here and there, but that is true of every agency. So long as you appropriately get to know them any difficult behaviors or issues become manageable. The problem is few people really know the difficult people and the proper support from staff isn't always there.
