I loved the friends I made there, but the actual work itself was terrible. They do not tell you this is a sales job during the interview process and how much your job is reliant on hitting your goals. If you don’t hit your goals even by a few points you can and will get fired. You are expected to be a telemarketer and make phone calls everyday out to members by looking over their accounts and seeing what they qualify for. They want you to harass every member that walks in by offering a product every time someone comes to the teller window. Tellers do about 85% of the work in the branch. Expected to basically do everything except loans without the compensation for it. No support from regional managers or any upper management in the company at least at our branch. You have monthly quotas as a branch that are for the most part unattainable especially for branches not in the heart of Orlando. Only good thing is time off. At least where I was I was able to basically take off whenever I needed to as long as I had the hours available, if you didn’t have the hours available you weren’t allowed to take the time off unpaid. Christmas party was fun and the insurance was good. I like them as a credit union itself as a consumer but would never recommend for anyone unless they LOVE sales and competition of goals. 

I loved just about every minute of my time at Fairwinds. My managers were dedicated to my job growth from day one. I started out at an entry level teller job and got three promotions within 2 years, ending with an accountant position, which is what my degree is in. There is definitely a huge potential for growth. Upper management encourages you to shadow other positions and departments you may be interested in, and even provides online courses you can complete to learn more about those positions. Fairwinds offers a hybrid work schedule for many positions (either a 4 day work week, or work from home 2 days a week). The CEO is very involved and often visits the branches and Support Center. He also will randomly buy all crewmembers lunch as crewmember appreciation. The annual Christmas party is very over-the-top, in a good way. It was even at Harry Potter World in Universal after the park closed one year. The only real downside is that I don't think we get paid enough, but I'm sure no one thinks they get paid enough no matter what company they work for. 

My honeymoon was great and I loved it!!! However, even if you like it.... The whips and chains start to hurt after a while and you are waiting for divorce or death.

Sr. and Executive Management manages by fear, arrogance and cluelessness. Yet they have managed to guarantee heir own positions and high salaries for years, despite poor employee moral, high turnover rates, low ratings and consistently falling short of goals. The "Pass the buck.." mindset is alive and well and supported. They have very old and outdated manual processes that provide poor results and guarantee human error at any given stage of the processes. Multiple forms and models that are easily manipulated and consistently change without notice. Management is aware, yet do nothing and many underlings have lost their positions as a result with no regard for anything else. Note: these are hard working people, supporting their families and managing various personal problems in a poor market. Yet they are loyal, overworked, and abused Dailey.

I understand, jobs are short in supply, so apply/accept...regret it and do like all else...keep looking!!!!

Toxic management culture that is very out dated (anti-work from home, only offering flexwork as a "compromise" because people were quitting, and even then its selective, you're expected to work on weekends in back office, even though you were promised that by leaving customer service you wouldn't have to work weekends, and technology is not resourceful and very manual), level of unprofessionalism that is tolerated from back office departments and upper management is far too high for my comfort. Unrealistic standards with back office support, but if you were in business services, marketing, HR, or any sales-oriented position, you would excel and thrive, as those departments tend to be happier and thriving.  

They don't trust employees to work from home successfully, despite forcing everyone to do so during the pandemic. It's dated, it's old, and it's showing that they're not willing to move with the times. 

My typical day at work was normally high paced we had to make sure we were took a call and was on and off the call under a good time frame and also made sure that during that time frame I made sure the member was given the answers to their questions and that I made them feel that they had my undivided attention while I was assisting them . The management was as fair as they could be considering that it is a very high paced environment , there are many times they are trying to assist many crew members at the same time. The hardest part of my job was when I was not able to give my members the assistance they may have been looking for because I was not able to refund more fees to their account. I loved everything that was associated with what I did on a daily basis and felt it was a good accomplishment at the end of the day that I was able to assist.

Focus on referral goals a lot. quit a few MODs and some of them are not very helpful. Release time counts against you, have to answer calls within three rings. Member can only stay on hold for two minutes at a time. You have to keep checking with member every two minutes or you will get an IM from manager letting you know member on hold for more than two minutes. This can be Very annoying especially if you are waiting on an answer or help from management which can take forever for them to get back at you. Also the policy about attendance isn't the best. You are allowed the first three and any beyond that will count as a point against you. It doesn't matter if you have a doctors note. By your third one, you will get a write up. The call center can be stressful, a 30 minute lunch break isn't enough to get your mind right. Calls are recorded and you are evaluated every month on five picked at random. MODs are always eating, most of them and gossiping.

I was told this was a bank teller position. I was trained as a teller. The MSR’s in this company Are personal/universal bankers. We carry 75% of the workload in the branch. There is not enough support staff to be able to give the attention. Individual members need, and  manager’s help only if asked. It is a toxic work environment. The company motto of financial freedom and lead with a servants. Heart only applies when you reach your monthly metric goals you are verbally punished if you do not reach your goals. The pay is finally a living wage for some workers, the healthcare is good and the vacation and sick time is good. But every time you use your sick time, you get a point deducted and if you get too many points, you receive a written warning. This is absolutely the worst company I have ever worked for in my long career.

Horrible systems, managers were not helpful, always had you transfer the customers to their voicemails. Customers would complain because they would be transferred continuously to wrong departments. Call system and computer systems they use were awful. Took so much time to do the simplest thing. 
Managers were constantly emailing you about things you did wrong. Even if it was verified through them and THEY gave you the WRONG answer. You'd be responsible, NEVER them. You have to check back with customer every 2 mins even if It took you 15 to 30 mins to find an answer. Most managers didn't know anything, better luck going to another co worker for help. They pay well because they know this job is horrible. Every single person I would talk to would be miserable that worked there. I would want to cry coming in to work.. it was that bad. High turn over!

Difficulty moving up, worst management experience I've ever had, and very high pressure at times to make quotas for opening accounts, getting people to apply for loans, etc. Hourly pay is terrible considering that it's the same starting pay as a target or best buy worker. If you want a sales job that doesn't pay you well at all for making sales this is basically the job for you. Very disappointed with the experience that I had here, because their training experience was great and made you feel motivated but from day one of working at the branch everything went downhill for 2 years until I left because of it. You can't be nice here, the only way to survive is by not talking or asking questions, and being rude to others like they are rude to you. The Credit Union itself is great for it's rates and accounts though.

The member services (call center) department is a toxic environment. I was extremely miserable due to micromanagement and negative feedback daily, never positive. The managers were the worst part about working there because they harass, bully, and put down their employees. I was told, and I quote, to “stop being an activist for the call center” and my job was threatened when I tried speaking out for my team by the AVP of the department. In the same conversation, this person said “you remind me of myself because I used to try to speak up and help the call center”... They make absolutely no sense, nothing is consistent there. Do yourself a favor and start away. Most people quit or get fired, the turnover is ridiculous. Who wants to be told that 30 min of bathroom time throughout and 8 hour day is a lot? No one.
