I regret to share my experience working at Family Care Center, as it has been an overwhelmingly disappointing and disheartening journey. When I first started the company was smaller and had a great mission but now has strayed so far beyond this mission it is laughable. A few months in, It became abundantly clear that their priorities were askew, leaving both employees and patients in a state of neglect.

Firstly, the issue of pay arises as an alarming concern. The compensation provided at Family Care Center is shockingly insufficient and fails to meet even the most basic requirements for a livable wage, particularly in a state like Colorado. The disparity between the work we are expected to undertake and the compensation we receive is nothing short of unjust.

Furthermore, the lack of growth opportunities or the possibility of a raise is extremely disheartening. It is demotivating to work in an environment where personal and professional advancement is seemingly nonexistent. Family Care Center has created a stagnant atmosphere where hard work and dedication are met with indifference, leaving employees feeling undervalued and unappreciated.

The most distressing aspect of my experience with Family Care Center is their blatant prioritization of money over patients and the provision of quality care. It is evident that the company's primary concern is financial gain rather than the well-being of the individuals who depend on their services. This unfortunate emphasis on profit-driven motives undermines the essence of healthcare, which should be centered around compassionate and comprehensive patient care.

Lastly, effective communication seems to be a foreign concept within the organization. Despite numerous attempts to address concerns and convey suggestions, Family Care Center consistently demonstrates a complete disregard for any form of communication. The lack of attentiveness and responsiveness from management only exacerbates the frustrations felt by the staff, further contributing to the dysfunctional environment.

In conclusion, I am deeply disappointed with my time at Family Care Center. The abysmal compensation, absence of growth opportunities, prioritization of profit over patients, and lack of effective communication are glaring issues that need urgent attention. It is my hope that the management at Family Care Center takes these concerns seriously and implements necessary changes to create a more conducive and fulfilling work environment for its employees and, ultimately, a better experience for patients.

Working at Family Care Center has been a very positive and supportive experience. A typical day includes supervising clinicians, collaborating with leadership, reviewing clinical work, and supporting quality client care. What I value most is the organization’s genuine respect for work–life balance, which allows me to do meaningful work without feeling overwhelmed or burned out.

In this role, I’ve grown both professionally and personally. I’ve strengthened my leadership and supervision skills, deepened my clinical knowledge, and learned the importance of maintaining healthy boundaries in mental health work. Family Care Center truly supports growth and sustainability in this field.

Management is approachable, responsive, and respectful of my clinical judgment. I feel heard when I share feedback, and there is a strong sense of trust rather than micromanagement. This makes a noticeable difference in daily work satisfaction.

The workplace culture is collaborative, compassionate, and team-oriented. There is a shared understanding that supporting staff well-being is essential to providing quality care. I feel comfortable being honest, asking for support, and encouraging my team to prioritize self-care.

The most challenging part of the role is balancing complex clinical cases with supervisory and administrative responsibilities, but these challenges feel manageable due to strong leadership and team support. The most rewarding part is watching clinicians grow and thrive in a supportive environment. I would confidently recommend Family Care Center as a great place to work.

I worked at Family Care Center as a psychologist and found my experience to be quite disappointing. The communication with clinical and administrative directors was consistently poor, making it difficult to address concerns or get necessary support. This lack of effective communication significantly impacted the work environment and overall morale. Everyone in our office was burnt-out and complaining most of the day. 

Additionally, the work-life balance was unsatisfactory. The expectations were high, and the workload often extended beyond reasonable hours, leaving little time for personal life and self-care. 

One of the most concerning aspects of my time at Family Care Center was the compensation. Despite my extensive experience and qualifications, this job offered me the lowest pay I have ever received as a psychologist. Given these factors, I decided not to extend my contract with the company.

While I appreciated my colleagues, I had concerns about the limited skills and competencies of some of them (e.g., LPCs, LCSWs, and LMFTs,) as their educational and training/career backgrounds often left them inadequately prepared for handling even simple cases. This situation made it challenging to find colleagues to relate to or consult with on difficult cases, raising concerns about the quality of care patients were receiving.

Furthermore, the medical office receptionists were rude and inexperienced, adding unnecessary stress to an already demanding job. They were often unable to field calls from patients properly and took their frustrations out on me, which created an unprofessional working environment. 

Overall, my experience at Family Care Center was not positive, and I hope they address these issues for the well-being of their current and future employees.


Over the course of my career, I’ve worked in both small private practices and large organizations, and Family Care Center truly stands out. The organization genuinely prioritizes employee well-being and gives me the autonomy to care for patients in a way that feels thoughtful and meaningful. My schedule has always been supported, which allows me to maintain a healthy work–life balance.   

Family Care Center has also supported my growth in so many meaningful ways, helping me develop both clinically and as a leader. There’s a strong sense of connection here, with opportunities to volunteer, spend time together outside of work, and give back to the community. I especially appreciate the commitment to local mental health initiatives and partnerships that provide travel assistance and free TMS services for veterans.

When I think about the name Family Care Center, the word “family” really resonates. It reflects both the patients and families we care for and the team we get to be a part of every day. I feel grateful to work alongside colleagues who genuinely care about one another and the work we do. It’s incredibly rewarding to be part of an organization that’s making a real difference in the communities we serve.  
 

Family Care Center is more than just about caring for our clients it is also about caring for the employees and clinicians who work here.  Clinic directors are always willing to help in any way they can even if it is not in a scheduled case consultation time.  The clinic administrators have been great with any admin or billing concerns.  So, when you work here you truly get to be a clinician and just a clinician without having to worry about all the logistical aspects that come with admin or logistics.  Family Care Center does a great job with helping clinicians build a schedule that works for them based on each providers individual needs. The benefits have been really supportive, and it is very helpful to have 16 hours per calendar year that is dedicated for CEU's.  There are also many opportunities for continued growth and learning. I am part of becoming a registered play therapist that FCC is providing training and flexibility with coordinating my schedule so that I am able to complete what needs to be done for the program.  I really enjoy being able to coordinate with other medication providers about mutual clients and it makes it easy to do so since everything is in house.  FCC also does a wonderful job making things fun and setting up events for employees to participate in if they are wanting to.  I would recommend FCC to any clinician who is wanting support, care coordination, and a flexible schedule.

Family Care Center is truly the best place I have worked, and I recommend it as much as possible. I am genuinely happy here and feel like I have found where I belong.


What stands out the most is the leadership. They lead with empathy and show a real investment in your overall success, both professionally and personally. They are encouraging, approachable, and quick to take action. They are consistently bringing solutions when concerns are shared. There is also a strong sense of teamwork across the clinic. Leadership encourages everyone to work together in a supportive and collaborative way and lead by example with professionalism and integrity. As a company, we are committed to doing fun teamwork building activities that always feel creative and allow you to connect with your peers. It creates an environment where you feel valued, supported, and motivated to grow.

I would absolutely encourage anyone considering joining FCC to do so. It is a place where you are truly supported and set up for success!

Unfortunately, my experience with FCC has been highly disappointing. One of the most glaring issues is their blatant disregard for the well-being of their employees. The clinic imposes unreasonable expectations, demanding a staggering 32 direct client facing hours per week from therapists. This excessive workload undoubtedly compromises the quality of care provided to clients/patients, as therapists are spread thin and unable to dedicate adequate time and attention to each individual.

Moreover, the oppressive workload contributes to an environment of high turnover, with employees feeling overwhelmed and burnt out. It's evident that the management at FCC is ineffective, failing to address the concerns of their staff or implement meaningful changes to improve working conditions. Additionally, administrative support is virtually non-existent, further exacerbating the challenges faced by therapists in delivering quality care.

What's even more disheartening is the lack of respect for boundaries from the intake department. Despite clearly communicated limits, they persistently disregard them, adding unnecessary stress and frustration to an already taxing workload. I am a recent departure who left alongside several other employees who were fed up with being treated like cattle!

One of the higher salaries available, along the same pay rate as other corporate mental health centers popping up all over in the behavioral health work landscape. 

Administrative team lacks seasoned leaders from the mental health profession. HR is tone deaf, unsupportive to  BIPOC staff.

Corporate business breeding the typical corporate culture -hustle work culture i.e. No Flex Time, expected to work outside of paid hours-e.g. no pay for time spent documenting. You’re  expected to hold back to back 55 minute sessions and to document on your time (on lunch break, evenings, weekends). Medical providers are also held to this, not only clinical therapists. 

FCC Telehealth policy does not allow providers to work outside of respective state lines-so if you’re looking for remote flexibility, you won’t find that here with their current policy. 

Just another corporate mental health business, with high financial investors, making the same old organizational mistakes seen throughout the mental health profession -eventually leading to burnt out mental health providers.

Good place to work overall but lot of issues. Company is growing way too fast and it is obvious that this company is becoming more and more focused on profit instead of proper patient care. Things can be unprofessional at times and management definitely doesn't care about you. I've been left scratching my head multiple times about what is going on. The company is constantly preaching that "we're a family" but leadership leaves more than to be desired.

Best part of the job: Delivering patient care, working with medical staff.

Worst part of the job: Lack of training, feeling that you are disrespected by your leadership, contradictions in what bonuses/pay is, and pay. You can make the same amount of money a TMS tech makes working in administrative, intake or billing. Why put yourself through the stress of taking care of patients if you can get a desk job or wait tables for better pay. You won't get compensated properly. 
 

I previously shared feedback about my experience at Family Care Center, but it appears that review was removed. I’m reposting because I believe applicants deserve an accurate and balanced understanding before making a decision.

The pay and incentives are strong, but the culture is centered on productivity and revenue targets more than on collaboration or long-term patient outcomes. Providers who raise ethical or clinical concerns may feel unsupported. Leadership communication can be inconsistent, and there is a noticeable disconnect between the company’s public messaging and internal priorities.

For those early in their career, this job can provide exposure and solid income, but it may come with significant stress and limited clinical autonomy. Enter with realistic expectations about the pace, pressure, and priorities here.
