If you work in Visalia at either one of the two story buildings. Those places are very demanding, strict, stressful, and supervisors are on top of you for a very little thing. But when they are not around, this is the place to get great work experience. You get into so many things, patients, equipments, injections, medications and so much more. It challenges and keeps you on your toes. No time to sit and be bored. So much to do and get done. There is opportunity to move around to different positions. You deal with so many different cultures which makes every day a different day. This company has one of the most best benefits around. If you are not a multi tasker and get over whelmed with a lot of things going on at once then I suggest going to a smaller facility would be best. You will still learn a lot but the smaller facility's dont see as much clientele. It gives you time for no stress, no mistakes.

Working to help my community was my #1 goal. When people are sick they come to the doctor, and sometimes a referral is out in order. The referral department has a high turnover and lack of resources/ knowledge of what to do when the patient is emotional and seeking help. I’ve over heard other referral representatives be rude and just not willing to help because they take it personal and don’t know what to do so the patient gets hung up on( then call ended) Most of the time the patient calls back even more upset and then left on hold for a long period of time. Probably in hopes that the patient will give up. I feel really bad this has happened around me. This department definitely needs Mental health help for the employees and updated drug tests. I will be putting in my two weeks soon not just because I’m moving out of town but for the Main propose of the lack of accountability this Referral department has for the way they treat they’re patients by having no “patients” at all. Do better FHCN. Patients come here because it’s easy for insurance but then the billing department has no guidance on how revenue works either. 

Before coming to work for Family HealthCare Network (FHCN), I thought of FHCN as just another clinic. Not long after working here did I realize FHCN is so much more than that! The variety of services offered to the community and the community involvement is like no other. Although I do not work directly with our patients or in our health centers, I know that my work helps achieve FHCN's mission of providing quality health care to all. One of the most exciting things I have witnessed at FHCN is the growth of the company through the addition of new locations, services, and staff. Family HealthCare Network is an exciting and challenging place to work; there is no dull moment. FHCN has a culture of excellence which encourages me and pushes me to do better and grow. I am very honored and proud to be part of such an amazing organization! 

Working at the corporate office has been such a great learning opportunity. I have gained much knowledge about the foundations of the business, our purpose, etiquette, and it has carried over to my personal growth. I believe it makes a significant difference to work with the goal of understanding the intricate details of the policies as precautions to ensure the safety, courtesy, and the goal (Quality Healthcare for all). With that being said, I feel that my work is purposeful and educational as a young adult. I am fortunate to have a goal-oriented, respectful, and caring team. I am also fortunate to have a supervisor who never hesitates to assist, encourages independent problem solving, and facilitates the wellness of the office. Working here has set the standard of professionalism in the workplace. I appreciate the high expectations that are set for the sake of our patients, staff, and community.

when i worked at family health, i was not feeling confident in my training progress. i proceeded to talk with my manager, and asked her for extra guidance, as i had never worked in a medical setting before, and was all over the place when i was trained for my position. she told me she would let someone know, and i should expect them to reach out. 2-3 weeks later, i still had not heard from anyone, assisting in helping me with the learning process, and was fired, due to lack of performance. they had made it seem like it was my fault, even though i reached out, expressing my concerns on my training process, and how it didn’t make me feel confident in the job i was doing. there are some good eggs in that place, i won’t doubt that. i worked with some of the sweetest doctors, nurses, and front desk staff, but the upper management in this place is a MESS. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
Must coworkers are  willing to help teach you. And the option to work 4 days 9 hours a day so you get a day off during the week for appointment if you choose to do that .

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
All the extra stuff they have us do besides just Medical assistant stuff so sometimes you don't have time to do them cause you are busy with flow but you have to get them done on a weekly basis.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Must co-workers are friendly just make sure you don't say to much to the wrong person.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Get here check my rooms make sure they have what they need for the day . Log in computer check the charts . Call patients back make sure there no messages if so address them. Do my referrals and pull patients back do what they need and make appointments for whatever they need.

What is the best part of working at the company?
 Benefits  (e.g.health  insurance, profit sharing, 403b) are good. Support for continuing education is available only to  licensed medical providers —RNs, LVNs, dietitians NOT included. Medical assistants are categorized as “nursing staff”. While there are a few nurses on staff, nursing as a profession is not respected by the organization. Focus is on quantity of patients seen rather than on quality of care.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Productivity is more important than patient centered care.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Work environment and culture vary by location and department. There are many dedicated staff/ exemplary roll models at some of the clinics but this is not true at all FHCN clinics or departments.

As an employee this is the most stressful job I ever had, a lot is expected from employees.  The pay could and should be better if they expect their employees to bend over backwards for them.  Fresno has a lack of management and for some reason they don't stay with the company long?  unexpected staff meetings, ridiculous dress code rules when the focus should be patient care.  The organization is "non-profit" but to higher management patient numbers is a must because the grants I assume.  There is a high turn around rate and HR, management don't seem to ask as to why.  The organization expects the Fresno location to adapt to their ways no if's or but's and all the changes they brought has been stressful to many employees that caused a lot of the older staff to leave, the organization can also adapt or change their customs ways too and see that this location is Unique.

I worked in billing, generally not patient facing. It was fast paced learning billing, which for me was pretty easy. I did as a new employee learn how to do my job as well as train new hires. It was nice that they had confidence in me to be able to train while being slightly new myself. Only downfall I found, was that one on the billing managers accused me on me first few days of being on my phone (mind you my back was facing the glass window she supposedly saw me through) and reported me to my direct manager. I explained that I was actually taking notes and advised that the proper way of handling that situation would have been approaching me and asking me what I was doing or IF I was even on my phone. Fortunately, I moved passed that and my direct manager listened to my explanation and understood.

The company is led by the most unqualified individuals I have ever seen. The leadership there is horrible and plays favoritism to those who have been their longer over those with qualified experience and education. The HR Department in 8 months time went through 3 HR Directors and 14 team members due to the hostile and harassment in the department from a Tenure Generalist and HR Director. The company does not care about education and will pay you the bare minimum no matter what and will tell you that education doesn't mean anything. In addition, they make it known that as an exempt employee you have to ask for permission to take an hour lunch and were told we have to work 7 days a week. No exception. 

Never will work for this company ever again and I highly recommend no ever does. Only if they are wanting to end their careers.
