It was a great place to work with a wonderful team when I first started. The company had so much potential with driven and competent individuals willing to make a change for the better. Corporate started stepping in and making drastic changes to our office structure, eliminating positions and forcing people into taking double the work load (with no extra pay)  or they’d be laid off. Health packages got more expensive every year, no improvements on employee benefits, etc. Extreme toxic environment and culture from this company where individuals had to “compete” for a position. no work-life balance. If  an issue/ concern was brought up, it was never addressed at corporate level since branch level staff had no autonomy to do so. Favoritism played a big part amongst certain people who were never held accountable, this was clearly said to upper management (C-level) and nothing changed. It was really discouraging! Our caregivers were great but only had the schedulers and a few other office staff for support. Office staff had absolutely no support from corporate office, lack of educational training and setting individuals including our field staff for success. The company expects 5 star service from all employees while willing to give 0 investment. No  end of year bonus or appreciation gift.  6 resignations within a 6 month period says a lot about this place. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
Loved the team and commarutary. HR was always willing to go above and beyond for the community we cared for as well as making you feel important and tried to get you a solid work schedule that met your needs to have a good work life balance.


What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Not having a car and being able to travel to each client. Had to take Lyft or other forms of transportation in order to care for my clients. But nothing they could control.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Great everyone was always trying to help you out and always went above and beyond. 


What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Flexible schedule wonderful staff and support throughout my time with the company. I felt like they really listened. You can work 8 or 12 hour shifts and felt like you were able to give the one on one support clients need and deserve

When I first started at Family Tree, I absolutely loved it. I was given so much autonomy to do my own thing. Absolutely loved working with my team. Sadly, corporate stated getting super involved and everything went downhill from there. Layoffs because they couldn’t afford to keep really amazing employees, sadly. Expected us to do more with less. We used to would get at least one free lunch a week and they would cover a birthday cake for employees and we would get latte Friday’s. And then just like that, all of that was gone. They stopped caring about us, entirely. And the pay was laughable at best. I would highly encourage to work somewhere else. As soon as I left, four other people from our two branches left (we all worked closely together).

This company is beyond horrible. The time and money, and gas I wasted. Let’s start with not being paid for orientation, conflicting information, the excessive messages being sent from scheduling team offering clients outside of the availability you’ve expressed. When you show up to the clients they decline services because the company is unprofessional, lack empathy and bed side manner. Family Tree doesn’t respect the time of their employees. This is the most unprofessional, disorganized company over ever worked for. I was told I would be contacted by HR to discuss when the policy of not getting paid for orientation what changed and I have yet to receive that correspondence. I wouldn’t refer anyone to work for this company. Don’t allow them to waster your time.

Great staff and friendly staff 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Not being able to get overtime which I need badly.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Pretty open minded, but there's still some work to be done inorder to improve the company. As an employee I want to feel like I'm cared about, not just used to get the job done. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Great shifts, the hours, and time that work for me.

The growth .Being able to be part of that was awesome the owners are great and has a really good vision. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The last leadership was not very knowledgeable in what needed to be done to run a great department.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
It changed over the years it was really good in the beginning up to about a year or two ago.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
I made my day good did not pay attention  to the foolishness.

I love my job and the people with whom I work! Every day people are positive and sure sometimes healthcare is stressful but that is just the nature of caring for very sick people. Our work environment is supportive, and we have great team work! There are opportunities for advancement and growth based upon demonstrating that we have earned the opportunity through our experience. I believe our leaders are fair and consistent. 

I learnt so much skills with family tree. If you don’t know something or unsure there’s always someone on call to help you with the situation. I have gained so much confidence with this company, more so before sending you to see a client they brief you and assure you if any concerns arises they are just a call away.. best company ever, all my nursing school education I have managed to use some skills with family tree considering during Covid time my school had no clinical hours at that time. Family tree has helped.

You have to fight for your 49 hours per week. You hardly ever have the same clients

Well as far as the employers they are very friendly and easy to talk with

Im mostly at a clients home so it's good for me

I am trusted to do my job. I am supported and given room to try new things.

Being a new company has required lots of process changes.

People are kind, work hard and support each other.
