Fedelta Home Care

This was a very busy job. There as so many folk in need of care and not enough caregivers or nurses , social workers working in this capacity. I loved meeting new clients and their families but it meant for very long nights depending on how many folks required our services  and how soon. 

As an RN I met the clients. Assessed their needs. Discussed the financial outlay. Set up their care plans and provided educations to the family/client and or caregivers. All in a days work.

I learned time management. Setting up boundaries on the time spent providing these services. 

The hardest part of the job was not knowing Seattle very well. Being a Northern CA transplant,  I was very GPS dependent in the very busy Seattle vicinity. I learned quickly that my days started early and ended late due to the traffic. This job required a lot of travel in any given day. I love to drive but being from a small town the drive time was challenging. 

Working with client's and family struggling with the effects  of dementia  was very trying but rewarding. Families or clients resisting the reality of the much needed change to their lifestyles was also a challenge.  Providing education and resources was at times well received and other times rejected. Promoting safety 1st was at the forefront of many conversations. 

I worked with a team of Social Workers, one other RN, and LPN and multiple caregivers. I also worked closely with the office staff that would assist in providing and assigning the caregivers. At times I needed the caregivers to have a particular skill set or certification. 
I would had to delegate in many situations.

Fedelta is not at all what I expected. When I started the interview process I talked mostly with HR who was incredibly nice and explained everything to me ahead of time. Eventually ended up having 3 rounds of interviews which seemed like a lot at the time but it gave me the chance to meet a bunch of the employees and see what the office was like. I learned that lot of people who work for the company have been with them for 5 years, 4 years, etc. which is almost unheard of in the healthcare industry so at the end it of it all it wound up being not that bad. At the time I was working remote so it was easier for me to work out - something that could be an issue if you cant flex your schedule. I've been here just about a year and I'm so happy I took jump and applied and saw for myself because its been really great. They have amazing benefits, pay is good and everyone is really so nice and friendly any time I need something at least 3 people jump in to try to help. They really put so much emphasis on taking care of their clients AND their caregivers which is something my old company didn't care about at all (only revenue). I'm hoping to be with Fedelta 3, 4, 5 years and maybe move into overseeing my own office one day!

I spent 8 years working in a hospital, another 4 years working in a SNF. Both were amazing experiences but i was exhausted all the time and i kept missing all my kids events and birthdays so i decided to make the switch to 1 to 1 care. Now i just have 1 amazing patient that i care for.  I was a little nervous at first switching from somewhere with people around you all the time for support to being by myself with my patient, but between the famiy's support and the office staff...its been great. The family literally treats me like im part of the family too, the office has a whole team dedicated to scheduling and time off, the clinical team is available 24/7 if i ever need a thing and they even have a real HR department with real people that kno what theyre doing. 

They recently increased their pay rates to reflect how many years ive been a nurse and they have additional pay for things like driving a long way to the client, working on weekends, etc. Im so happy i made the switch.

ALL new management in 2020! But sadly, still a horrible place to work! All staff are unappreciated & overworked & when we speak up with ideas/solutions, NOTHING changes. Clients suffer with all the turnover! Caregivers suffer because strong relationships don't exist between caregivers & admin/management. I worked there for over 2 years. I was really excited to work here at first, but quickly realized management has VERY unrealistic expectations of their coordinators & care managers, then you're in trouble for making mistakes from being overworked. Just look at all the turnover, literally 98% of the company (office / admin) are NEW! EVERYONE IS REPLACEABLE.
FEDELTA HOMECARE IS A TOXIC WORKPLACE THAT WILL ONLY TAKE TAKE TAKE!  You will be expected to work overtime, but will never be appreciated for it! Everyone is so overworked then gets in trouble when they can't balance everything. Very sad what has happened to this company, built on CARING FOR PEOPLE. Do. Not. Work. Here. 


Now I know why they paid my asking price. At first I was excited! They ordered business cards day 1 and had me set up with real training. But once I fully joined the team I found the culture very difficult. I was also lied to about the job structure on working from home. The clientele and staff pool is wonderful, but the culture within the office is awful. Teammates are gossipy, confrontational, and backstabbing. Management wanted zero to do with the interoffice issues and had a very odd way of trying to both control and avoid it. The office environment has been bad for a long time, before I joined the team. The team lead specifically was not open to any new ideas, different methods to get the same results, or independent teammates. Colleague and Management attendance is low and poorly communicated. It feeds into more office rumors getting started. Not all of the team is so bad, so I highly recommend an interview where you can meet your teammates too! 

I was excited when I got hired at Fedelta.  I thought it was a place where I would be able to use my expertise and training and make a difference in the lives of others and also contribute to the overall betterment of the company.  Sadly, I was mistaken.  I had read the bad  reviews on indeed and glassdoor--many stating the same problems over and over again, and was alarmed when I read HR's responses on glassdoor that always put the blame for a bad working environment back on the employee--even going so far as to describe an employee as "troubled" because they told of their bad experience there. But I took the bad reviews with a grain of salt and went to work there anyway. Believe the bad reviews.  the good ones?  Solicited to write from management to counter all the bad reviews. Many good reviews are in fact, written by the same person. 
It's sad that a small, independent company would choose to be so toxic and choose to be such a terrible place to work,  I am sorry I have to write this, but  everything bad is true.

Senior Management plays favorites. If you are not a favored employee you will be walking on eggshells and looking over your shoulder everyday.

The actual job and assignments were fulfilling.

It doesn’t matter if you do your job well, volunteer to help your coworkers, take on extra assignments, or volunteer to pick up shifts to help patients and the company. They assume worst intent. They do not have the same standards and expectations across the board. They are quick to give the benefit of the doubt to those they like. If you are not a favored employee they are quick to reprimand (sometimes in front of others) when there is a remote possibility you did something wrong.

I regret not leaving sooner, literally thousands of vacant nurse positions outside of this company.

Typical day at work involves working with clients and families offering direct care,  most families I work with offer their appreciation for the excellent care performed for their loved ones.
Management is very supportive in providing continuous trainings to keep us updated with recent care updated following the required code of ethics.
The workplace culture is supportive, collaborative and culturally aware.
The most challenging aspect of the job was situations encountered when an employee call in leaving you stranded to find coverage as, such as long hours, and high pressure become overwhelming.
The most enjoyable part of the job is such as working with a great team, and the learning opportunities for success and opening doors for growth.

I have really enjoyed my time here at Fedelta. I have been here a little over a year. It is like a family here. Anytime something happens, co-workers are always concerned  and they care. They will send you a card, ask about you  or whatever. 

Management is very good! They are very hands on, which can be confused as micromanagement. I enjoy that they are hands on because I learn a lot from them and it helps me grow in my job skills. I enjoy that I can bring  my dog to work if I want to, my benefits are okay, and there is always a great environment. 

The free snacks are a great plus as well!
