I regret to say that my experience at Fields Senior Living at Smokey Point was  nothing short of disappointing. The environment within this facility is unhealthy, both physically and socially. Gossip is not just an issue; it's a pervasive problem that poisons the atmosphere for both residents and staff.

Residents have made their concerns abundantly clear to the management, but it seems like their grievances fall on deaf ears. The level of unhappiness among residents and their families is palpable and entirely justified.

The staff members, who work tirelessly to care for the residents, are equally unhappy, and it's not hard to see why. The pay is shockingly low, given the demands of the job. There are far too few benefits for the amount of work expected from the dedicated employees.

One of the most concerning aspects of Fields Senior Living at Smokey Point is the revolving door of staff. People are being fired constantly, leading to an outrageously high turnover rate among the good, hardworking employees who genuinely care about the residents. It's disheartening to see talented individuals leave due to poor management practices.

Speaking of management, it's evident that they can't seem to keep a department head for longer than a few months. This instability at the leadership level trickles down and only exacerbates the existing problems within the facility.

In summary, Fields Senior Living at Smokey Point falls short in multiple critical areas. The unhealthy environment, rampant gossip, low pay, and lack of benefits make it a deeply unsatisfactory place for both residents and staff. I strongly urge anyone considering this facility to think twice before making a commitment here. There are undoubtedly better options available.

In this field setting you should always know that call-ins and being shorthanded are part of the gig and expected. The staff morale was mediocre at best due to this, and lack of leadership stepping up and filling in could be seen. I learned that there are great people there to care for the residents but didn't get that same feel from upper management (not the onsite management team) (though they spoke the right words) actions. It was more about being micromanaged in all aspects of every employee's position to have their image (the company) be the best thing forward, rather than the continual care of the residents.  I don't want to make it seem, like care there is bad, but you can only do so much with what you have to work with and an update of review of regulations needs to be looked at. If you decide to work there, go in with caution and be aware of the surroundings.

The company preaches open communication yet schedules people to come in for new hire training video without the office manager being there or even being aware of it. 
They are turning out upper management faster than any place I have ever worked before.
They go back on their word about schedules even with ample time to fix it. They will pull you to other departments and try to guilt trip you into working on your days off.
They do not appreciate the employee who comes in early, does more than their job duties with anything; no employee on the month, no bonuses. They didn't even do employee performance reviews until recently.

The on-site leadership is great! They all care a lot about the residents and the staff.  They do their best to shield the other staff from the owners.  Compensation is a joke. Some staff get paid really well and some staff don't. Even when doing the exact same job, you can't talk about that though, you'll be fired for talking about wages. 
Every day feels like you are looking over your shoulder, constant fear of losing your job over the tiniest mistake.  No room to be human. 

If you do this line of work u know how tough it can be, but also how rewarding at the same time. Caregiving in memory care is so down played by upper management bcuz they do not work the floor and have first hand experience what we go thru daily. We are constantly understaffed, the behaviors and the negligence from people all get brushed under the rug. This line of work is a constant struggle. I do love my job that’s why I have been doing it for so long. It just needs to be better for the residents and the ones who are the front line workers of these places. Also the parking sucks. 

This job had several ups and downs. I was an assistant activities director. I enjoyed the residents and working doing activities with them. Unfortunately that is where the positives end. A lot of coworkers are catty and everyone is nipping at each other throats. Management is completely disconnected and it's impossible to talk to your direct supervisors or higher ups about any issues you may have or notice. I would highly recommend going elsewhere unless your okay with constant stress from others your working with and for. residents are amazing though :)

A typical day at work in this facility is guaranteed to be fast paced and under staffed. The turn-over rate is ridiculous and it weighs heavy on the residents and staff trying to keep up with their duties. I stayed a part of this community mainly because of the residents. Management doesn't practice the core values they peach. Trusting members of management is the hardest part of the job. The toxicity of this facility is baffling and management is the root of the issue. Dont let the stunning architecture and decor of the building fool you. The most enjoyable part of the job is building relationships with all the amazing residents. 

My first day of working They were a ton of call outs and very understaff.  The employees are very unprofessional and not respectful to others.  The training is very poor and not up to standards.  So many red flags at this place!  I can’t believe they are still able to run this facility with the lack of good management and good professional employees that value quality care!  Once you try to do the right thing and address any issues you will have a target on your back and will end up getting taken off the schedule without any explanation or reason.  Very unprofessional and not the way a facility should be ran.  

Management is horrible they have favorites and they do not hide it. Seniority is a big thing with them along with not respecting the work their staff does for them. They refuse to do any of the “dirty work” themselves even if they are covering they leave what they had to do for you to do when you come in. The staff is horrible gossip and favorites they will team up on you if they don’t like you.

The owner letting our boss know his financial stress and she put the stress on us like it was our fault when we just started

Toxic and saddening to see residents pay so much for such horrible treatment
