You are reading new postings from FCB because the crew hired last year with high hopes are leaving or fired. When you become an employee with an FCB branch, you are expected to perform transactions, maintain account issues, address and solve panicked customer complaints. These tasks are top priority, as the client is in front of you or on the phone. While you attempt to solve the issue, you will wait on hold to help desk, get incorrect information or the application you use is jammed up. Often employee can overcome these issues and client leaves happy, but no product is sold, only current client is retained.
 Your sales goals are reached when all employees complete all goals for each product. If one employee misses the goal of one product, or the total goal is missed by .01% Then no one is paid.
As a brand new employee, you will cover the teller line as you watch your new team mates be escorted out. 
If you can accept the above tasks with a smile and confidence, you have passed the first hurdle. 
When it is time to process a product, you leave the teller line, then take ten minutes to log into your aps at the platform. You will watch your teammates struggle as the clientele line reaches the door. The client in front of you will voice his concern that maybe now is not a good time. If you get stuck while performing the product process, there is usually no one nearby to help out, or if there is they don't know the answer. When you call the help desk, you will wait on hold. When you finally get the question you had answered, or have another question, you will be treated like a bad dog who boom boomed on the carpet.
Once you have proven yourself capable, you will then be expected to perform these tasks simultaneously while perfecting operations, answering the phone, counting money, and balancing. I do mean simultaneously. 
When a mistake is made, and they are made all day, you will fix it. You will take pride in how much you can learn in a day. You will satisfy clients, and benefit  their financial health. You will make wonderful new friends. But BEWARE..FCB cleans house every year. Last year the commissions cut too deep into profits. So goals were made unreachable, and employees left and were laid off. This year was chaos with inconsistent policies given to newbies. When one employee makes a  mistake, even when no harm has been done to the company, FCB will not correct the mistake, or coach employee. FCB now just fires everyone. The fast employee finds another job. The rest just take the hit. This is the pattern I have witnesses the past two springs. I was warned when I came on board of this practice. I give two stars, one for my coworkers, and one because I  enjoyed the daily challenges. No one enjoys the hostility and unreachable goals, but its fun to TRY.

What is the best part of working at the company?
There truly was nothing positive working there. The systems are so outdated. The help department was none existing. When reaching a different department was impossible. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The most stressful part of the job was the entire company.  Getting answers, finding solutions was such a GRAY area. Doing the right thing didn’t seem like doing the right thing. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
A complaining fest! That’s it! The entire time you are working employees are complaining about everything there. They just don’t want to be honest. Everyone plays on there phone. The company is filled with employees that make up their own rules. What customers can take large amounts out and who couldn’t. The security sucks! The upper management, ceo nobody visits the branch. You don’t truly do anything in branches. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Get there figure out what we are ordering for breakfast, eat take care of the very few customers that came in. Had schedule blocks to make calls or work teller line. Didn’t ever work the way planned because the staffing levels. It’s always about the bottom line. Instead of having a teller at every window, every desk filled. Than the right person could do the job the are hired to do. How do you expect someone to work teller line and make calls all at same time? Yes when you look it looks like down time. You can’t make valuable conversations on phone. When you do have the opportunity to start documenting conversation you have to go log out of other systems. They don’t talk to each other. You are putting information in different places. 
Truly there is a better way of banking. If you only knew how amazing FirstMerit staff was. The company treated them amazingly.

When I was employed at First Commonwealth, every day was a new experience and I enjoyed my position there as a Senior Transaction Specialist. We monitored transactions to verify that the transactions were complete and processed correctly and posted to our clients accounts. Therefore, I worked with Fedline and with Wausau to process documents for approval to pay from clients accounts.

The Management Team was very helpful and I learned so much from my Supervisors. My computer skills increased and my confidence soared.

Processing signature cards for our clients was another part of my daily tasks. We reviewed them for accuracy and completeness so that they could be posted for review by the staff.

Every day there were many spreadsheets to update and information to gather for Management. I enjoyed the challenges that were given to me in this fast paced environment.

First Commonwealth was a very team oriented company and I loved my position there.

The CEO was the exact epitome of what a leader should be. That then trickled down to all of the other staff, regardless of position. Everyone in the company was encouraged to "Own it!" when making mistakes. You never felt like you were a problem, there are so many opportunities to learn and progress! The company says "It's your time to be first!" and really takes it to heart not only to the community outside the organization, but also the community that is the organization itself! The most enjoyable part of the job was coming into work everyday. Even as a teller, you're respected as much as the CEO himself. It was the most encouraging and empowering corporate culture you could dream of! The hardest part was trying to keep up with the cut-throat sales required of the position, when you're under staffed due to banking moving to a digital world.

A typical day at work for first commonwealth was very repetitious. Sitting at your desk taking about 85 incoming phone calls a day helping clients with their bank accounts, loan applications and selling bank products and making about 5-10 out coming calls to clients or potential clients, 

I learned great sales skills.
my communication and computer skills approved.
I learned how to manage meetings. 
I learned how to train other employees.

The management at first commonwealth was good for the most part. 
I believe they just took a lot of credit they didn't deserve without showing appreciation to the workers. 

My co workers and I had  a great relationship and we used a lot of teamwork.

The most enjoyable part of my job was getting to help a client in a time of need .

The hardest part of my job was having to go through a work day short staffed.

My training was lackluster and the staff was short-handed.  I was not trained well, and half the time when I made mistakes I was told to refer to proceedures (which were shown to be outated and needed fixing).  I was constantly told that I had many errors in my job but not a lot of help was given to remedy that. I was just told I got something wrong over and over with no real constructive input. I stayed at my first job for three years and it took a lot happening there for me to leave.  Here, it's taken about three months and I am stressed, unhappy, and questioning if it is healthy for me to even stay here.  Some of the people are nice, but in the end I feel my time there is limited and it is hard to be motivated to keep coming back.

Unless they improve on training and constructive criticism, I feel that working here will inevitably make you feel worthless and like throwing yourself into traffic. 

I was a Branch Manager in Ohio. FCB really empowered employees to make decisions in the best interest of customers. Upper management was accessible, they listened to the employees, and was open to hearing employees ideas and suggestions. As with all banks, Branch traffic has diminished in recent years so branches are working with less people. Of course, this can cause some stress and feeling overworked some days. Computer systems are a bit difficult to navigate at times due to multiple programs for different functions. Overall, my experience was positive and I appreciated the flexibility when needed to do the “right thing” for the customers I served. I would work for this company again!

I worked there for a year as a “Financial Service Specialist” or FFS.  It’s basically a glorified teller with sales goals.  I had much experience in sales and in finance, but took the job since I was new to the area.  

Early on, I greatly surpassed all of my sales goals, and changed the culture of my branch.  In fact, I alone made my branch on of the highest producing branches in the company based on their metrics.

After a year, I applied to become a manager.  I believed I would be a shoe in, considering other managers were taking my advice onto how to sell the products and to implement my sales tactics into their branch.  Nope, the hired outside.  Continuously hired management from outside the organization.  

Simply put,  there is not room for growth here, at least on the branch level.  Considering at the branch there are only be the tellers (ffs) and the manager.

This company wrote the book on using cliché phrases and buzzwords to keep employees in their clutches for just long enough to make some money off of them. They dangle carrots of a promotion or raise that will never actually come to make sure you keep running yourself ragged to impress them. Sales goals increase while audit procedures decrease. They dont care how they get the sale, they just care that they get it!! If you wanna get some serious sales training, nice incentives, and are able to leave your conscience at the door, then definitely work here. My advice if you choose to work here is to use them just as much as they use you. Get some experience and get out before they're the next bank in the headlines for "deceptive practices".

When I clock out.  They do not care about their employees.

The demanding job, expected to work holidays when we are closed due to poor time management of other departments

Everyone puts on a fake show that it’s so great but then they complain their job sucks and they don’t get paid enough

Stressful, overwhelming and managers are constantly micro managing their staff.  They tell you to work independently then next thing you know they are sending emails that you were in the process of doing them the manager says they did their work and not you
