My experience working at Five Star Home Health Care has been very positive overall. The caregivers are truly compassionate and dedicated, and it is clear they care deeply about the patients they serve.

The team culture is supportive, and many coworkers are willing to help each other when needed. It is a good environment for learning and gaining experience in home health care.

Communication and scheduling have improved, and when everything is coordinated well, the workflow runs smoothly and patients receive consistent care. Management is responsive and works to address concerns when they come up.

Overall, it has been a meaningful place to work, and I appreciate being part of a team that focuses on quality care in the home setting.

The most stressful part is juggling content creation, ad management, and coordination with different teams while adapting quickly to last-minute changes.

The culture is supportive and mission-driven, with people who genuinely care about helping patients and families.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
A typical day involves working on marketing campaigns, creating content, managing ads, and coordinating with different teams to support ongoing initiatives.

A typical day at work starts at 9am and ends at 5pm. I come in at 9am on Mondays and Tuesdays and spend the days processing time sheets. If I don't receive their time sheet by 9am on Wednesday, they don't receive pay that week. On Wednesdays, I process payroll. Thursdays and Fridays consist of enrolling employees in health benefits, and calling employees regarding missing time sheets or time sheets that need to be corrected.

My coworkers are the most supportive and helpful group I have ever been a part of. We all have each others' backs and help out whenever necessary.

The hardest part of my job is the abuse I receive from caregivers when I talk to them about why they did not get paid on time (IE they had not submitted a time sheet, their time sheet had errors, etc). This occurs at least 2-3 times every week. Another hard part about my job is lack of communication regarding payroll.

The most enjoyable part of the job is that all of the office employees are extremely helpful whenever necessary. If I receive verbal abuse from a caregiver, the director will immediately contact them and let them know that it's not okay to do that. The environment is also laid back, but not too laid back where no one is doing their job. Everybody does their job efficiently.

Working at this company has been an incredibly rewarding experience. The work culture is genuinely supportive, friendly, and collaborative people truly care about each other, and it feels like being part of a close-knit family. Even though it’s a smaller organization, that creates opportunities to take on meaningful responsibilities, grow your skills, and make a real impact.

Leadership is approachable and always willing to listen, and it’s clear that employees’ efforts are recognized and appreciated. Communication is strong, the environment is positive, and there’s a real sense of teamwork across departments. I feel valued here, and I can honestly say this is a place where you can thrive both personally and professionally.

Start the day with a respectful and relax greeting with messeges of pleasure and interest for the condition of the new day of the client, combined with the ADL, we are developing the day of work,, which as the interrelationship progresses and the needs of the moment along with the programmed, help to know the easy way to the development and maintain an environment appropriate and functional, adaptable to the character of each case/client.

Five Star was a decent place to work for as far as home health care agencies go, because I have heard some not-so- great things about many other companies. The pay was sustainable and you had the option to create your own hours. Did receive some good support from my coordinators, but only if I reached out, the only time they really reached out to you was if you had hours missing for the week. 

A  typical day at Five Star Healthcare would be to professionally assist a Client with ADL'S with dignity and respect. Five Star Healthcare provides monthly in services for the Employee to keep abreast about changes in Healthcare and or to assist with keeping up to par on Employee's skills.  The most valued part of My employment with Five Star Healthcare...is to see a Client's smile at the end of the day.  I know that smile means that I did something to make the Client happy.

No room for advancement at all. Management is horrible, they don’t care about their employees. I walked into the office and overheard them talking badly about caregivers and people who interviewed there. They give you attitudes if you call out for an emergency, and count it as a “last minute call out”. They don’t address caregiver concerns quickly enough, they claim “they are so busy”. No bonuses or quarterly activities for caregivers. Worst company I have worked for. 

No training is given, no leadership, it is a constant revolving door and you are alone on a island. No marketing materials or collateral are provided. If you hit bonus you will not be paid for it. They will alter data and find ways to make it look like you did not hit bonus. They restructure a lot and not many people have worked there longer than two years and their is a reason for this. I would stay far away from here or start looking for a new job as soon as you are hired. 

It's a place to start a career, not a place to stay. The owner moves people from one position to another, often without notice. Management does not always give the tools you need to be able to be successful. It's a lot of "figure it out as you go". Often, it appeared men got promotions over women. 
I was there for almost 3 years and was one of the longest employees there (very high turnover) and no raise. 

If you are newly liscense this is a good starting place for you. They don't have many options to move up. They give more attention to those who are trouble makers then those who need actually need the help. They also sometimes put you in places that are uncomfortable. They do offer benefits but the benefits cost your whole check.
