This IS an actual company that cares. I have been given anything I have asked for, and MORE, to succeed in my position. Hours are NOT long (half day Fridays!), there is work from home flexibility, and a culture that feels more like family than cold, corporate America. I've been here less than a year, have already been recognized as a long term growth player, have been included in new initiatives, given extra/unique responsibility and an amazing 1st year review (ON TIME, as most companies give them late in the following year). I've found the company I wish to grow and retire with. 

Typical workdays are structured with projects that are outlined well with clearly defined goals. 

Management is one of the shining stars of this company. They are personable, value the talents you bring to the company, and value your communication with them. They accept and trust your knowledge in your area of expertise and welcome feedback on processes and projects. They understand that every person working here brings value to the wellbeing of the company and the members it serves. The culture greatly reflects this. The interactions I’ve had with my colleagues has always been one of positivity and understanding. 

It’s difficult to come up with hard parts of the job. Sometimes deadlines can be a little tricky, but there’s always someone who has your back. 

The most enjoyable part is in my opinion the people. 



What is the best part of working at the company?
Everyone is so nice and helpful. Upper management is always available to answer any questions. They also seem to really want success for the people in their department and will go above and beyond to try and help achieve that.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
It is definitely a very busy and fast paced job.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
They are very willing to work with you and are very flexible with working from home if you have something come up. GBU definitely takes care of their employees whether it be the fun events they do for the employees or the fun events you can volunteer for. It is also very much a team environment where everyone helps each other which is very nice.

I’m fairly new to the company in a new department, so any ‘uncertainty’ I have is to be expected at this point.  However, what I didn’t expect was the clear commitment of just about everyone at GBU-from the maintenance staff to CEO-to make sure that things are done properly not just quickly.

GBU is an amazing place to be. A work place where your opinions and ideas MATTER! From day 1, you will be heard and respected. GBU is a place that leaves you feeling accomplished. I have been at GBU Financial Life for 2 1/2 years and I have been really happy working here. I feel I have job security and I'm really loving the smaller office work environment. All my co-workers are really nice and we work well together. Also loving the half day Fridays too!

I am new to the company, but have loved everything about it so.  They promote a healthy work life balance and it is not just talk.  They truly care about their employees and have gone above and beyond showing such in the time I have been here.  We are in the midst of some pretty significant system changes for my department as well as expanding the states we do business in so I see nothing but growth for myself and the company in the future.

GBU is a great company to be at right now. As others mentioned, technology was an area severely lacking. They recently rebuilt their IT group with new director and employees over the last few months. Already seeing great improvements that were implemented and planned for the rest of the year. Really looking forward to what is to come next year as sales group is also being expanded!

I transitioned to GBU after many years in the industry with other companies. It is an amazing company. The jobs are secure, there is a team atmosphere, they give so much back to the community, and we are always having employee appreciation events. The PTO is very generous and the benefits package has awesome perks beyond what other companies provide. I plan to stay here until retirement.

Most everyone in the company is great to work with. Lucky to be in a department that while works hard are relaxed and have fun. Lots of changes IT over the last couple of years and even more changes to come. Exciting times and looking forward to it.
