A typical evening at work would be, get to work, go into the girls locker room and dress out which would be changing into work boots, and getting my required to wear hard hat. Then once I have done that, I go to the break area and kill a few minutes, then thw managers have a small 1-2 minute meeting, we're also required to wear a smoke, so before being placed at the work area I get a smok then I go do my job until break, then I go to break for 30 minutes and back to work. 
I believe I learned, that no matter how hard the situation may be going always push yourself to do the best cause in the end hard work definitely pays off!
The managers were super cool, and laid back, very friendly but also expected you to get your job done!
The hardest part of the job, was I think having to stand in one spot for good amounts of time!
The most enjoyable part about Gold Creek, was being able to get along with most of everyone and making friends while being able to work!


We clock in at 7:30am we go in the box room and help make boxes around 8:30-9:00 we’re taking first break after break we head to the line to start up first the chicken might come out slow then it starts coming out fast you pick the chicken up of the converter belt and check the bag for a code , holes and burnt chicken or rejects if you have reject you put them in a combo so they can be packed separately from the good product. One lady or man from the line will pack up the rejects . While everybody else packs the good chicken into boxes to be sent down the line to go through the tape machine and to get a date code on the box before the stacker stack it onto a pallet. The work environment is Hispanic but every body is nice and treat you like family and we have a wonderful team that works together to get the job done.

Typical day at work involved clocking in then getting any and all work assignments loads delivered or fueling to be done. I quickly  learnt in this job that there was no room for advancement. They just wanted pones to show up and drive there trucks not professional drivers. Management had absolutely no knowledge of DOT regulations nor did they want to get to know them. Safety did not matter to them at all. This honestly was the hardest part of the job, they just wanted us to drive or pull any trailer no matter what the consequence to the driver or the company. The only enjoyable part of the job was the people, meaning the shippers and receivers I had contact with, even though I was unhappy with the performance of management I always remained professional.

What is the best part of working at the company?
They treated me like family and didn't judge me on my past. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
When something broke down I had to fix it quickly because it was expected of me even though I feel that I work well under pressure.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Relaxed and multicultural, and I was never put in a position that I felt I couldn't do the job.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Putting on the appropriate PPE and checking on the area that I was to be maintaining and with the lead in the area to see if anything needed my immediate attention.

I worked night shift sanitation from 10 pm until 7 am. Small crew at night, so it makes things less hectic. Safety is the number one priority because you can get hurt very easily cleaning the machines or by the force of the pressure washers. You must pay attention to your surroundings and your coworkers. Sanitation is very important. It must be done correctly. There is an inspection every morning to make sure that that the quality of the sanitation is up to standards. Management actually cares about its employees. That's something you don't find very often.

My experience working at GOLD CREEK FOODS learn to be patient learn new ways to produce chicken met new colleagues and learned and a new language.

While employment is easy turn over is frequent.  Job is difficult without ability to speak Spanish.  Payment is weekly.  Be prepared to work hard in very cold and damp conditions.  They are very thorough in their training.  I learned enough to be profitable to both state and federal USDA.

I really enjoyed my job cause it was a challenge to finish.  Everyday seemed to have a different twist to the orders. Made it seem like a fun environment instead of a boring one . The ladies was very sweet there . Everyone always helped to see you succeed. They was very understanding when crisis happened in your personal life. They helped you out when ever they can.  would recommend this job to anyone

It was ok....its a chicken plant...lots of spanish people working there. It was a good job. They provided transportation. The pay was ok. The hours are good. Very cliquish. We had good times though. The transportation they provide was great but not free of course. I made good friends. I did enjoy it.
