No Room for advancement, unfair and unethical practices by leadership, HR & Management. Poor Benefits and hourly wages are unaligned with heavy workloads. This company is not a healthy place to work. The work/life balance is significantly out of proportion and expectations of non management staff are unreasonable and unrealistic. Management, Leadership and HR take advantage of their employees and do not respect their most valuable employees. Succession planning is done behind closed doors in secrecy. Micromanagement and reactive practices at this company make for longer work hours and burnout. This company does not follow their own company mission and individuals are often seen fending for themselves.  Leadership, HR  & Management push their most valuable employees out. Top management down do not treat their respectable, reputable, skilled and well experienced employees fairly and equally. There's a significant amount of turn over regularly given this company’s unethical practices, long work hours, micromanagement, inexperienced and unskilled top management and leadership, reactive and unfair practices and unsupportive and non-advocating leadership and management.  This company's reputation rests on its extremely dedicated and low paid staff as indicated in another review. Staff are constantly being asked to do more but not given more time, compensation, training or resources to do it. Turnover is a serious problem and has been for years. Mass exits of great employees have historically occurred . Very old and demanding system unwilling to change any practices and be open to any feedback from low paid employees. This company has a very entrenched, top down approach to management. Much of the senior team present as incompetent and out of touch with healthy work environments and smarter work policies. The majority of the staff are hardworking and kind people who truly care about this company’s mission however, many of them are not at the management level upwards.

Thankful to be away from there and wishing those well who apply to work at this company.

This company's good reputation rests on it's extremely dedicated and low paid staff. Staff are constantly being asked to do more but not given more time and resources to do it, never mind better pay. Turnover is a serious problem and formerly dedicated staff are jumping ship left and right, mostly due to unsustainable work loads and low pay, but leadership does nothing. 

This company has a very entrenched, top down approach to management. At least half the senior team present as incompetent and out of touch with progressive work policies that would make it a more appealing place to be.

The majority of the staff are hardworking and kind people who truly care about the mission. Thankful to be away from there and hope it gets better for those who stay.

While the workday can be unpredictable, it's good and meaningful work in the helping profession, social work.  I've learned a tremendous amount about people, families, teams, working collaboratively to reach shared outcomes, and providing grace.  The culture is truly about customer service, dedication to the mission and vision, inclusivity in a supportive environment.  We have a diverse, skilled, passionate, and customer-centric workforce.  And we laugh, which is mission critical in this climate and in general.  There is emphasis on work/life balance and family first, very important.  I love the people, our customers, families, partners and the flexibility is top notch!  
When staff leave us, they typically don't go to work for another area agency but in pursuit of an opportunity outside of what we do.  And many come back, which is great.  

The training at Gateways is not comprehensive and does not allow for the incoming Service Coordinator to learn appropriately before receiving their caseload. Service Coordinators at Gateways are overworked in that deadlines are set with unrealistic expectations and employees frequently have to spend time, unpaid, completing tasks to get them done for the timeline expected. Additionally, employees are underpaid in comparison to the current rates for this line of work in this area, and the raises are questionable - someone having a year-long tenure with the company and being on the clinical team should earn more after receiving their annual raise than a new, incoming Service Coordinator with minimal prior relevant experience. 

Great place to work.  I have a work family who mean a lot to me.  CEO is top notch and sets an example of professionalism, compassion, and an energetic leadership to take the hard stuff on and do the right thing. 
Many dedicated staff willing and able to do the heavy lifting. Senior management sets the tone for an ethical, informed, and competent workplace and workforce. 
Training and growth are encouraged and supported.

I'm happy to stay with this credible agency doing good work for as long as the culture keeps its vision intact.

The agency provides important services and simultaneously has very dedicated staff along with high turnover.
Decisions, changes, and policies are implemented that come as a complete surprise to staff without opportunity for input. More transparency is needed.
Workloads can become overwhelming and compensation is not commensurate. If you voice your observations about the items described above, they are not always received in the manner you would hope.


Love working for Gateways, it really feels like a big family.  Supportive management and coworkers make for a great work environment. A good training program and continued education help staff stay up to date on everything.  The best thing is having a hybrid schedule!
The hardest part of working for Gateways is losing clients that you e grown close to. 

I was able to choose a job with hours that would work around my full-time job. Very little paperwork involved. I would pick up my client and take them to run errands help with social skills, personal skills, etc. The client had specific goals through the agency that I would help them to achieve.

Working in Family Support is like working with your family. We are a small close group who work together well for the benefit of our families. The company treats their employees well overall and the work life balance is excellent. Most people are very helpful and kind if you need anything and the CEO is one of the best. I’ve learned so much working here and hope to continue my growth with this company long term. 

Since I was a family managed employee, I worked mainly with the family as they directed the type of services their loved one required and warranted. I was able to obtain and maintain employment for the individual I was placed with. we worked together for 13 years. I left because I moved and my income had not increased in many years.
